Hoff fine, movie is stunningly bad...........................

Hasselhoff fans please don't be angry because my comments here are inno way aimed a The Hoff or his talents. I tuned in to "Anaconda 3"because I am a fan of Sci-Fi Channel and a fan of Hasselhoff (who is acompetent actor) but was stunned by how bad this movie is. Despite TheHoff's charisma and the fact that he can and does manage to do a goodacting job playing villain roles, this movie is just lousy.Very fake snake, cheap CGI, no character development. But the main sinof the movie maker here is that "Anaconda 3" is just not entertaining.It drags in places and often is just not scary.Yes its a "B" movie and in a TV "B" movie I can live with only asmidgen of character development, but here we actually have none. Notany. Zero.Huge snake climbs around roofs but doesn't even knock off a shingle. Incontrast, the sci-fi movie "D-War" (2007) has a similar monster butwhen it crawls on a roof, the building cracks and debris falls off.In "Anaconda III" the animal weighing thousands of pounds rushes aroundthe forest at lightning fast speed but doesn't even snap a twig or stirup any dust (reference "D-War" again), although it leaves a trail inthe grass that men can walk through. I know snakes are supposed to besneaky, but... this giant is not believable enough, even by Sci-FiChannel standards, and I enjoy most of their product.The extremely fake visuals overwhelm the very capable performances bythe cast, and unfortunately cancel out The Hoff's charisma and ability.

hahaha sooo bad

We went into this movie with incredibly low expectations seeing as wewere looking for a bad movie that we could just laugh it. This moviefar underachieved even my lowest expectations. The acting was worsethen in a porno, there was no beginning or ending, it just went and atthe first close up sight of the anaconda rather then feeling a slightchill every single person in the room burst out laughing. Throughoutthe entire movie I did not know a single characters name, because theydidn't bother with character development of any sort. And the highlightof the movie was of course David Hasselhoff, who's mustache wouldmysteriously appear and reappear from scene to scene. All in all thismovie was a masterpiece of terrible, perfect if your looking tomercilessly mock something with a group of close friends.

Has about as much in common with Anaconda as Dino's Big Monkey movie did with King Kong

2 Stars because it's no worse than than most Sci-Fi Channel fare. That being said why some suit thought turning a giant snake movie into a slasher film was a good idea is beyond me.If only they'd spent one tenth of the blood and prosthesis budget on a decent CGI model of an Anaconda. For that matter if they were going to include those shots of real snakes they could have used some with Anacondas instead of Boa Constrictors and Corn Snakes.Guess snakes all look alike to the Ophidiophobic.

Focuses too much on gore

When I stumbled across this on Sy Fy and saw that the Hoff was in it Ithought, proceed with caution it's either going to be good or terrible.It was terrible for the most part although did have the potential to beso much better.The film mainly consisted of the super giant snake attacking people ina variety of ways. It was far too focused on the various gruesome waysa stereo-snake could kill someone and not really on much else.Overall it was just needlessly gory.That being said I got to the end and did manage a chuckle at points soit passed the B movie test. It's watchable if nothing else is on but Iwouldn't go out of your way.

Loved it!

This is exactly the type of movie SciFi should be presenting and/orproducing. Not a shoe-string budget, but not a student-project levelproduction either; a name actor (even if the name is Hasselhoff), andenough humor/blood/story to keep someone interested when they're not inthe mood for Shakespeare.The talent involved in this movie was B level, top to bottom, but fromthe director-a longtime camera operator and cinematographer, to theformer Baywatch star, it's made by longtime professionals, and theserious attempt at making a quality movie is noticeable. And the snakes were as cool as you get for this kind of money (at leastwhen they're not on a plane).I'm looking forward to Anaconda 4!

Beware: This is NOT Anaconda 3...

Anaconda 3: The Offspring (or so it's called) tells the story abouttesting gone wrong in a facility, which causes an outbreak of twodeadly Anacondas who have gone under scientific experiments and are nowdeadly, larger and stronger than ever. A mercenary (David Hasselhoff)and his team are sent to capture it, along with a scientist (CrystalAllen) who tags along. Anaconda 3 is the first of two Sci-Fi channelsequels to the first two Anaconda movies, and quite frankly...it sucks!I was excited for this movie, for the pure fact that I really enjoyedthe second and that I thought this movie would be a cheesy, funb-movie...even for Sci-Fi channel standards. I was impressed with thestills, and well...David Hasselhoff battling snakes? I so wanted to seethis! Unfortunately, it's a complete mess and doesn't even feel like anAnaconda movie. It's as if the writers of the script just slapped onthe "Anaconda 3" title. Not once, apart from the opening sequence withthe camera panning over the forest, did this movie feel like anAnaconda movie. I'm convinced it isn't.The acting was mediocre, and Crystal Allen was the best actor in themovie. What annoyed me was the fact that they sold David Hasselhoff asthe title name in the movie, when he is hardly even in the movie. Heappears briefly at the beginning, then once again and then doesn't showup until 45 minutes into the movie. People expecting John Rhys Daviesto have a good amount of screen time will be disappointed also, becausehe's underused also. The characters weren't very entertaining and themercenaries felt like idiots waving guns around. They were also boughtinto the script very quickly, and just felt thrown in. Most of theactors are foreign also, so their obvious fake accents didn't help. Asfor the character development? There was none.The CGI for the snakes was crappy, and if you thought the CGI inAnacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid was bad, this is miles worse.The Anaconda only looked decent enough when wrapping itself aroundvictims. The kill scenes were easily the most entertaining part of themovie, because they were bloody, stupid, unrealistic and silly. Butthen, even these were rather bad...because all the fake blood splatterdid not help things, especially when it looks computer generated andvery cheap. Soundtrack was awful, and had a constant cheesy themeplaying from start to finish. Dialogue was meh...the occasional"scientific" line thrown in from Crystal Allen's character.I was also confused by the movie, because I had no ideas what part ofthe world the characters were at! There would be non-English speakingforeigners one second being eaten, and then an American woman and herkid relaxing in the sun. Then there would be an old, foreign town shownin a flashback and so forth. Most of the characters looked foreign, butspoke with American accents and I know the movie was filmed in Romania,but come on! I had no idea where the characters were supposed to be,and I also wish they used a boat and river in the movie, like the firsttwo. Most of the time, it's running in the woods or driving around in acar with a fake backdrop.Overall, Anaconda 3 "isn't" Anaconda 3, so don't be fooled. In fact,it's just a movie that's cashing in on the title and marketing itselfas a sequel, when it really isn't. People who hated the first two willhate this most likely, and those who enjoyed both (or one) of the firsttwo movies, will most likely hate this one too. I've seen worse fromSci-Fi, but I've seen better. I'll watch the 4th one, but I predict itwill be just as bad as this one. Disappointing! This isn't a sequel asfar as I'm concerned! Avoid.2/10

Worst CGI ever...

Just the first act was confusing... i mean where in the heck were they?And the first time i saw that snake.. Well i almost wanted not to watchanymore of the film cause it seemed awful... And i rly do regret that igave the film a chance to entertain me. It was rly boring from thebeginning. Yeas i know it was "mutated" anaconda but pls it has teethlike T-Rex! Bites heads and hands of etc etc. Has a sword like tail andall this BS. And they say it weights more then a ton. Well that oldbarn house did almost fell apart from one man but a snake that bigdoesn't make any damage. The mercenerys were awful... I mean its asnake that did go in ground and these guys shoot upwards? Rlyprofessionals i tell you. And sick of this pull the trigger close youreyes and pray if it hits something tactics of these "PRO" mercenarys.Also i'm an herpetologist and well heres few spoofs. In the cover ofthe film isn't a anaconda its Boa constrictor. So is that snake in theend that survives the explosion. And there was this second snake almostin the beginning. South African snake living free in europe? yeah ibelieve that... Even a blind monkey could make better story thats a bitmore realistic. So if you can deactivate your brains watch the film.But if you know things about snakes don't watch it. It makes you crylike a baby.

Under the direction of Don E. Faunt LeRoy, the good folks at SyFy present Anaconda III (2008), a monster on the loose tale featuring a giant, lightning fast, CGI snake. If you keep your expectations to people being swallowed whole, and vicious snake attacks with plenty of blood, then you should be satisfied. At a research facility, under the direction of Doctor Amanda Hayes (Crystal Allen), ordinary anacondas are given a serum that causes them to grow to enormous size. Murdoch (John Rhys-Davies) is charge of the program, and he triggers an incident that causes the reptile to act up, and escape captivity. A search team is send out into the woods after the snake, lead by Hammett (David Hasselhoff). The serpent strikes at its pursuers, chomping off heads, or piercing bodies with its deadly tail, slowly reducing the number of the chase party. Keeping things interesting are those with secrets, and ulterior motives. The special effects and acting are not the greatest, and the characters are mostly one dimensional, but for what it is, mostly one long chase, the film delivers what you might expect for a SyFy production. Don E. Faunt LeRoy returns to direct Anacondas: Trail Of Blood (2009), again featuring Crystal Allen as Dr. Amanda Hayes.

A giant pregnant anaconda escapes from a research facility and a team of hunters are tasked with killing it before it can reproduce. It is a mysterious thing that some films can be complete garbage and yet kind of fun to watch, while other films may also be complete garbage but impossible to get through. This one manages to be fun without possessing any kind of real quality. Dare I give the credit to David Hasselhoff, who chews the scenery as the snake hunter Murdoch? Yes, I dare!
