Devoid of ideas not reflected in its title, or even much in the way of sustained comedic effort, this is a bloated, wearyingly unamusing affair, from start to finish.

I laughed when it was as dumb as it should be. I was bored when it wasn't.

It would only be respectful to hang up Big Momma's oversized girdle once and for all.

Worst Big Momma

Big Momma is back in this horrible 3rd installment of the Big MommasHouse franchise. This is about undercover agent Malcom Turner. He is onanother case and his son Trent sneaks into the middle of a drug dealand witnesses a murder. Trent than needs to go undercover with hisfather to an all girls school . Where the key to the case is hidden.I thought this movie had a few and i mean Few funny jokes. Trent playedby Brandon T. Jackson was the only one who made a slight joke. Thesemovies had jokes that you would see in a Tyler Perry movie. If you likethe Tyler Perry movies. I suggest you see it but if you hate them donot see it

It would be nice to report that, in the end, Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son is just innocuous. Instead, it's rather insidious

Peter Bradshaw

Among this film's many misdemeanours is pinching the plot of Some Like It Hot.

The Vidiot Reviews...

Big Momma: Like Father, Like SonThe worst day for an African-American actor is the day that he or shemust put on the first of what will be many fat suits.Unfortunately for the teen actor in this comedy, his moment ofhumiliation has come at an early age. When his partner hides a flash-drive on an all-girls arts collegecampus, Detective Turner (Martin Lawrence) must don his Big Mommapersona to infiltrate the student body.Aiding Turner on this undercover endeavor is his arrogant stepsonTrent/Charmaine (Brandon T. Jackson), a hopeful rapper and anunintentional murder witness. Now, Big Momma and Charmaine must locate the flash-drive before the badguys catch on to their disguises. The third installment of the Big Momma franchise, Like Father, Like Sonis a failed attempt at resuscitating an unfunny and insulting series.Besides, there are more comical issues to exploit in a skinny characterwho use to be fat. Wow. It's not that bad???

FBI agent Malcolm Turner and his 17-year-old son, Trent, go undercoverat an all-girls performing arts school after Trent witnesses a murder.Posing as Big Momma and Charmaine, they must find the murderer beforehe finds them....I wanted to see this, just to see how far Lawrence was scraping thebarrel, i'm kind of sadistic like it. The ratings on here have beendamning, and i needed to see what all the fuss was about. And while the film is probably one of the worst comedies i've seen, there's a lot here to keep the viewer occupied. It's a harmless filmabout nothing more than a copper in a fat suit and bringing his sonalong. The two leads are okay enough for this, and they have chemistry as theyare both as annoying as each other. There are a few song and dance routines for no good reason other toattract the 'Glee' crowd, and soon enough people start getting feelingsand bad eggs turn good.It is the pits, but you can't help but watch, like watching a trampstumble across the road.Bet Lawrence cannot wait until bad boys 3 is green lit.

Thanks a bunch, Tyler Perry. Your antics in old-lady dress-up have inspired Martin Lawrence to literally drag his worst franchise out of the closet and back onto the big screen, cheaper and more lazily than ever.

I did have a fun time wondering why character Malcolm's first answer to any dilemma is to dress up like a woman. Does he have a back stock of these fat suits?

This tired sequel serves up a load of half-baked slapstick, tedious dialogue and all-too predictable plot turns.

Aside from providing the inspiration for 30 Rock's fake Tracy Jordan movie Honky Grandma Be Trippin', it's hard to see the value of this sporadic Martin Lawrence-wears-a-fat-suit-and-a-dress saga.

Kirk Honeycutt

(2012-04-12 19:41:15)

This is not a case of doubling the fun so much as an anxious attempt to revive a franchise running out of gas.

Philip French

Can there really be a comparative and a superlative for "unfunny"? It doesn't make sense to describe this witless, embarrassing third film in the Big Momma franchise as "the unfunniest".

Like sequel, like original

STAR RATING: ***** Saturday Night **** Friday Night *** Friday Morning** Sunday Night * Monday Morning Agent Malcolm (Martin Lawrence) returns, this time with seventeen yearold son Trent (Brandon T. Jackson) in tow, who's trying to pursue a rapcareer, but his father has little faith. But things change when aRussian mob boss gets it in his head that Trent saw him kill someone, and the pair are forced to go undercover at an all girls performingarts school, with Trent taking the guise of singing sensation Charmaineand Malcolm reprising his guise of the indomitable 'Big Momma.' The original Big Momma's House presumably gained a bit of a cultfollowing in spite of what couldn't exactly have been amazing reviews, since two sequels were spawned, the latest being this, erm, questionable piece of work that is one of the sadder products of thesequel reliant recession era times. Though it might get success withit's target audience when the absurdity and slapstick works at it'sbest, for the most part it just drags a tired set up out without enoughlaughs to keep it going. And it's at least ten minutes too long, butreally, this review has been about five lines too long. *

Whoever demanded a third instalment of Lawrence's mirthless mash-up of weak gags and cross-dressing horrors should be imprisoned and forced to watch it on repeat until they repent. Avoid.

I am so glad I didn't waste any money buying tickets to go watch this, but I indeed regret the time I lost.

Been awhile since Big Momma was in the house and well she is back andshe is big and this time she is dragging along her niece. Malcolm whois trying to crack open a case ends up getting his only witness andsnitch killed. Trent who just happened to be at the wrong place at awrong time witness the murder and now becomes the hunted! In an effortto retrieve some valued evidence and also to protect his son's life,Malcolm aka Big Momma enters an all-girl school dragging along his sonTrent aka Charmaine with him. It gets into all kind of crazy when thatyoung boy ends up in an all-girls dorm. Boys will be boys.John Whitesell should have left the franchise be. He just revived itand it fell harder than it did during the 2nd movie back in 2006.Everything was not right in the movie. I will shine some light on afew. The Cast. You can't bring in amateurs alongside a star comedian. Martin Lawrenceaced his way through the movie. He was brilliant as Malcolm and he waseven better as Big Momma. I wish I could have said better about BrandonT Jackson. He was good, but Lawrence was just too good for him. It wasnot Just Jackson the entire cast I felt was too weak to be up beside agreat like Lawrence. Imagine watching "Wild Hogs" with Martin Lawrenceand this same cast. Wild Hogs was a hit, but if the cast was not right,it just won't fly well. Jessica Lucas was gorgeous but her performancewas not very convincing either. It was a good strategy to cast inLawrence to boost the ticket sales, but it just won't fly withoutsupport. The ScriptThis was the only good thing out of the bad. The script was writtenwith a lot of fast moving and slapstick comedy. This is a good sign. When a script is average this means with the right talent behind thecamera and the right talent in front of the camera, the production willscrape to come above average. A good effort by the writers. Sadly yetagain, it will not fly without the support.DirectionJohn Whitesell is no newbie. He has been around for some time. Althoughhe is not household as many of the big fish in the industry, he didgive us "Malibu's Most Wanted". Although not a soaring success story onits own, it was watchable and it was funny. It's sometimes felt as ifthis was done on a very low budget. A very low one indeed.I am so glad I didn't waste any money buying tickets to go watch this, but I indeed regret the time I lost.

It's amazing really, when you look back at the Big Momma's House film series, how many major crimes can be solved by dressing up as a fat woman.

Big Momma is Back With a Vengeance!!!

I don't understand why this movie is receiving such low ratings. Ithought it was a really good and very funny sequel. It's like a mix ofThe House Bunny and Sorority Boys. Malcolm's son, Trent is out of highschool and wants to pursue a music career. While trying to get him tosign a contract, Trent witnesses a murder on his dad's stakeout.Malcolm and Trent are forced to go undercover and disguise themselvesas Big Momma and Charmaine at an all girls college. Big Momma becomesthe new den mother to the Divas. At night, Big Momma is trying to finda flash drive that can put a Russian gangster in jail for life.Meanwhile, Trent is slowly falling in love with Haley. I highlyrecommend BIG MOMMAS: LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON!!!
