Chucky gets lucky in this poorly made sequel that just happens to have agreat premise. Jennifer Tilly is Chucky's former lover. She tracks down thedoll and brings him back to life through voodoo. However, Chucky manages toturn Tilly into a doll also. Now Tilly and Chucky search for a couple totransfar souls with. This entry puts humor over chills and scores somelaughs, but still the main saving grace is Tilly's wickedly smartperformance.Rated R; Violence, Sexual Situations, Profanity.

Best Chucky movie

First of all I have to say that I like the whole Child'sPlayseries, but this one was more than just a good movie to watchonTV at night.It was so funny and exciting to watch.Great chills, great laughs, great music and even some good special effectsfor a Horror Movie.9 /10

Good natured fun....in a sick and demented kind of way!

With a tag line like "Chucky gets lucky" you can expect a film thatdoesn'ttake itself too seriously and Bride... is certainly not a movie to betaken,or even attempt to be taken, in any way, shape or form, remotelyseriously.Jokes and one-liners abound throughout the movie, and there are a numberofvisual gags that poke fun at other horror flicks (see the Pinhead scene,forexample).The two dolls steal the entire film thoroughly and Brad Dourif (who has torank as one of the world's most underrated bit-part actors) voices Chuckyperfectly.If you like silly horror, then this one is a must-see. If, on the otherhand, you think Scream is the height of the horror genre, I'd stay away.Though this movie has teens getting in trouble, they are almost completelyunimportant next to watching to see what Chucky and his diminutive partnerget up to.It's a real shame there aren't more of these kind of "Don't take itseriously" movies around. It's a sad reflection that the comedy horrorgenre, in recent years, has had to suffer the likes of "Scary Movie",whichare, lets face it, completely crap. Hopefully, more films with real darkhumour and not force-fed "you must laugh at this" crap will emerge in thenear future. If not, then comedy horror is dead.One last thing to note about this movie.....the appearance of the lateJohnRitter. It's strange that it is often only after an actor has died thatyoubegin to realise what a tremendous talent they were and how much theycontributed to the industry over the years. RIP John.

Wooow! Excellent!. Bride of chucky is an example of the best horror film since last ten years (I include Halloween H20, another great movie). Brad Dourif's voice..better than ever!

Chucky was'nt Sucky.

I never even saw any of the other "Chucky" movies. What drew me to this one was Jennifer Tilly. (She is one of my fav. actresses) Assuming Jennifer has good taste i figured this movie had to be alright. I was right! This movie plays upon itself as being over the top and ridiculous. If your half way descent in the brains department you would have already figured that out. The last thing in the world you should do is enter this movie with a preconceived notion that it is going to be a serious thriller. Jennifer Tilly pretending to be in an old time classic melodrama swooning over Chucky is an absolute riot. I love her! The grand finale had me cackling like a fool at 2 in the morning when the movie ended. I can't wait to watch it again someday. Brilliant movie surpisingly.

The only CHILDS PLAY flick worth seeing

I always found the CHILDS PLAY/Chucky films to be dumb and pandering..then Isaw BRIDE OF CHUCKY a funny,fast-moving,FUN horror flick. Thank you JenniferTilly for breathing life into a franchise that needed a good dose of yoursassy badness! This ones worth seeing even if you havent seen the otherChucky flicks, it stands on its own and is the only Chucky flick I wouldever wanna sit through again. Very amusing.

Hmmm?

I'll be the first to admit it- I love the first 3 in thisseries!....But this one should have never been made! It doesn't really follow theseries(No andy!), although not as bad as the 'Highlander'movies..., and the plot is actually quite boring, and Chucky should have just stayeddead. Chucky has no cool lines like in the last ones and it really is just amess of a film, made to cash in on the earlier 3- See the first 3, and skipthis one!

Chucky's getting a bit corny.

This was an all right movie, but I thought the other ones were better. The Child's Play series is getting corny, starting to be a spoof on themselves. "Bride of Chucky" was more funny than it was scary, but there're not really supposed to be scary, are they? I recommend that you rent it first, and see how you like it. A true Child's Play fan would probably want to buy it, but it's safer to rent.

Fantastic! A new lease of life for chucky!

I didn't know what to expect from this, as child's play 3 was a bit of a let down. But, here's chucky back on form, with hilarious in jokes (blink, and you'll miss 'em!) and fatastic horror fx. TILLY gives a wonderful, dry and sexy performance as Tiffany and DOURIF is as excellant as ever! Thankfully, the plot dosen't give Andy Barclay a mention! Can't wait for the next one, as chucky says, "I'll be back, I always come back!", maybe in CHILD OF CHUCKY??!!

Just when you thought Chucky had reached his lowest...

This film is so far my least favorite of the series... never mind therating, I actually like Child's Play 3 more than this. I haven't seenSeed Of Chucky yet, but I'm fairly confident it's not as bad(or worse,if that's possible) than this... honestly, it can't possibly be. Ireally don't think so. The plot is the most nonsensical and poorlywritten P.O.S. I've heard of for a very, very long time. The pacing iseven worse than the third film, and, believe me, that says a lot. Ithink I would find it more thrilling to watch paint dry than to seethis poor excuse for a Chucky film again. The acting is not as bad asit was in the third film, but it's close. The characters are the mostpoorly written(so far) in a Chucky film, and by far the mostunderdeveloped. None of them are really likable, so you have to just goby which actors you like or who you find attractive. Going by that, Ipreferred the screen time where John Ritter or Jennifer Tilly ison-screen. Unfortunately, that's not a lot of time, and I was bored forjust about every remaining second of the film. The film is kept goingthrough a series of 'twists' which act like introducing a small amountof electricity to a dead body; you get a slight twitching and movement,but it doesn't last long. New pointless characters are introduced on aregular basis simply to be killed off. The whole idea with Chucky'sex-girlfriend just seems dumb, not to mention the teenage couple thatare our main characters constantly mistrusting each other... I guess itwas supposed to make us laugh, but I've never really found Chucky thecharacter to be entertaining or funny, I really just liked Chucky themaniacal serial killer because he was so interesting, cruel andcreative. I don't know... the whole idea of the film just doesn't work.If you kind of liked the first three films, but you kept wondering howa black comedy featuring Chucky looking like a bastardized monster ofFrankenstein, maybe you'll enjoy this. I recommend this to... um...well, I don't really know. If you enjoy black comedy far more thanhorror, and you like Chucky the character more than Chucky the killer,maybe you should give the film a chance. Just don't expect anythingfrom it. It's not even worth it to experience the great John Ritter orogle at the beautiful Jennifer Tilly... and that's coming from a bigfan of Ritter and someone who's found Tilly incredibly attractive for along time. Most people really shouldn't bother with this film. 5/10

The Coolest Movie that I've Seen in a Long Time!!!

I went into this movie expecting a good time and that's exactly what I got.Possibly even more. I've never had so much fun in the theater before. Thecrowd and my friends and I cheered for our little hero Chucky and his newbride Tiffany who slash their way to the top in this hilarious movie. BradDourif and Jennifer Tilly make an awesome pair and must have had fun makingthis film together. Watch for Martha Stewart jokes and one hell of a funnysex scene between Chucky and his bride. Chucky definitely gets lucky withthis fun little romp in the theater. Run to go see this movie today!!! I'mgoing again next week!!!!!

Simply Entertaining

The Child's Play film franchise was going downhill until this movieshowed up. Bride Of Chucky was a very enjoyable movie. It's funny, muchviolent then the previous movies. This movie was also new in the seriesto have sex which wasn't even mentioned in the previous films. Thestory is better in teleplay then lines.What was also new and eccentric in this movie, a sex scene between twodolls.I just can't get enough from this movie. I rented it and owned it for aweek back in 2001 in VHS and just watched it about 24 times. I also hada familiar history with this movie towards my fox. You know that spellthat Tiffany chanted to give Chucky life again; i totally memorized itback as a kid and i've used to chant the same words on my toys whileplaying for sometime.

Don't expect to be scared; expect to laugh

Who could possibly love Chucky? Well, the girlfriend of the serial killer who inhabits his body, that's who. She's a piece of psycho work herself and when she can't get her lover out of a doll's body, he gets even and puts her into one. Together they go on a "romantic" killing spree that includes a "wedding" of some sort though I doubt legal in any state. Jennifer Tilly is just awesome as the "bride" and her "human" role is very creepy. However, not creepy in a scary way, more creepy in a funny way -- dolls of a feather on killing sprees together.

Can you say "milking it?"

Bride of Chucky? Child's Play 4? What's this? Why do we feel compelled tobring a mutulated doll back to life, and this time along side anothermutulated doll with a wig? What's the point? Give me a low-budgetindependent film any day over these commercialized extravanganzas with noreal plot and a lot of gore. Hey, it was bad enough with three Chucky films,wasn't making a fourth one milking it?

*Fantastic* Chucky Movie!!

This is one of my favorite Chucky movies. My second favorite Chucky movie is Child's Play 2. The first part of the movie is so funny. This film is different than the first three Chucky films, because Andy is not in the movie. If you haven't seen The Bride Of Chucky aka Child's Play 4 I suggest renting the video from your local video store. I also suggest that you should watch the Child's Play movies in order so that you know all about Chucky.

Chucky finally ties the knot...

BRIDE OF CHUCKY breaths new life into the "Child's Play" franchise with it's doses of black comedy and the excellent work of new director Ronny Yu, who brings a fresh approach to the Chucky legacy.The story picks up several years after the bloodshed of "Child's Play 3", with Chucky's girlfriend Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) stealing back the dismembered dolly from a gullible policeman and reviving him with a voodoo spell. Tiffany aims to keep Chucky firmly imprisoned in her trailer, but he breaks free and murders her, then transports her spirit into a bridal doll. Hitching a ride wih two lovesick teens (Katherine Heigl and Nick Stabile), the plastic-fantastic duo must reclaim a mystical amulet if they are ever to return to human form.This is very much more comedy than horror and is a completely enjoyable ride even if you weren't too impressed with the earlier "Child's Play" films. Jennifer Tilly is hilarious as Tiffany and Brad Dourif once again voices Chucky with anarchic glee. Katherine Heigl and Nick Stabile don't really do much except scream and look pretty, and are completely upstaged by their dolly co-stars. The ending, of course, leaves the door open for yet another sequel ("Seed of Chucky", which I hope to review soon).Fabulous film.

Played entirely for laughs and there are lots

I've only seen the first and last installments of this series and tho Iapproached them with some trepidation as to the quality and if I'd get myrent money's worth, I have to say that I have. I've rarely laughed during amovie as much as I did for this one. Brad Dourif is back with hiswacked-out laugh and the script is a gem, poking fun at itself and thehorror genre and pop culture like Martha Stewart. Now I just have to go outand buy a copy for myself so I can enjoy it over and over. The doll FX arepretty good and cheesy all at the same time, which was the intention. Jennifer Tilly and Dourif make such a bizarrely charmingcouple.10/10
