Tries to be two things, fails but not too bad

Sandler and company go back to the well that gave us all '50 FirstDates', a quirky and funny Rom-Com. While '50' had some over the topmoments, without them the film was still a good and solid romanticcomedy.Now think of 'Joe Dirt'. A funny comedy that does not pretend to be aromantic comedy. Unfortunately, 'Just Go With It' tries to be both...and fails. Notterribly, but it goes off the rails halfway through and maybe recoversa bit, but not fully. I was just disappointed at this film, at times itfelt like they just went with the first draft of the screenplay.Annoying characters which are supposed to be hilarious I suppose...butmade me actually think of leaving. It got that bad at one point...

Adam Sandler worst actor in the history of motion pictures

Adam Sandler has no vocal inflection and no facial expressions. He isnot remotely handsome yet over the years he has made movies with someof the most beautiful women in Hollywood. Jessica Biel, Salma Hayek,Kate Beckinsale,Drew Barrymore, etc and now Jennifer Aniston. Jenniferis a pretty girl even tho she is a woman in her mid-forties. In her"love" scenes with Adam she plays as usual Rachel and Adam plays DavidSwimmer. It is really uncomfortable watching these two actors kiss andpretend they have actual feelings for each other. Everyone knows thatin real life Jennifer wouldn't give Adam Sandler the time of day. BradPitt has very big shoes to fill. Also in this movie is Nicole Kidmanwho tries her hand at comedy.

Cheesy but funny at points

This movie is about lies, lies, lies and even more lies. As the lies start extending and extending, of course the story get more jokey. Adam Sandler takes on his typical acting M.O. (modus operandi) and that is: start off like a loser and eventually end up as the real winner. This is quite obvious at the start where they give him this huge nose and his bride to be, just seems to be with him for the luxuries that money can buy. Luckily he over hears her true motives and decides not to get married.However, after some cosmetic surgery, instead of looking for a genuine relationship after the first misfortune, he decides to become a 'player' and uses women, but tells them upfront that he's married to a beast and just needs some TLC for the night. So really he is just as bad as the woman that he almost married.As the film goes along he plays a very well endowed woman, and then discovers that he is in love (or is that lust) with her. But when she finds his fake wedding ring, he has to construct a whole scenario to ensure that he does not lose her. The long and short of it is that it is a funny show, but because Sandler has done these loser/success roles so often that it is extremely predictable...

Funny- Great Cameos

This movie was funnier than we thought- and the great cameos made it even better. My husband was on board with going to the movie for the "hot chick" in it- and said that he was surprised at how good it was. It was just a great overall- funny movie.

We loved this movie!!!

I am so surprised that the reviews on this movie is as low as it is!Iwas a little worried about seeing this movie because the reviews werelow. But don't trust those stars. Read the reviews and it will changeyour mind. We laughed through most of the movie, actually the wholetheater did!! I think it was one of Anistons best. And Sandler washilarious! The kids were cute and funny. If you like to laugh I wouldrecommend this to you! But if you have no sense of humor then don't seeit. I don't want to spoil anything and give to much information. Cantwait for it to come out on DVD!!! My husband and I really loved thismovie!

Pleasantly surprised that it is as entertaining as it is.

Pretty bad approach for educated professionals, Adam Sandler iswell-off L.A. plastic surgeon Danny Maccabee who almost got marriedwhen he was young, and didn't, but kept wearing the wedding band. Hefound that it helped him have a series of short-term relationships andone-night stands, well into his 40s. But then he meets someone that really rings his bell, it is love atfirst sight, and for the first time in his adult life wants thisrelationship to work long-term. It is Andy Roddick's real-life wife,20-something Brooklyn Decker as Palmer. But when Palmer sees his ring,instead of telling the truth, and this is where the "bad approach"comes in, he tells her he is married but about to divorce. He has hisassistant, Jennifer Aniston as Katherine, pretend to be his wife, andpretend her name is Devlin. Who also happens to have 2 kids.All this sets up a series of bargains and bribes to Katherine and thekids, Danny seems willing to spend any amount of money on the ruse, tokeep Palmer in his good graces. And this has them end up in Hawaiiwhere the real Devlin from Kathernie's past, Nicole Kidman as DevlinAdams, creates a series of additional ruses. The whole escapade in Hawaii walks the fine line between being atotally stupid slapstick, and a fairly entertaining story. Fortunatelyit is closer to the latter, and we found ourselves laughing quiteoften.SPOILERS: This kind of comedy usually has antagonists ending uptogether and that is what happens. Danny and Katherine finally realizethat they love each other and just when Danny has successfully snaredPalmer, he abandons the wedding and goes to Katherine, they kiss, andare destined to end up happily ever after.

Awful just isn't a strong enough word

God awful. I would appreciate it if the film industry didn't capitulateto the demand for horrendous endeavours such as this one. This "movie"makes Matthew McConaughey look like Daniel Day Lewis, and Fool's Goldlike Citizen Kane. Overall, I am hard pressed to blame Hollywood andthe screen play writers for producing this farce of a plot, as thepeople inexplicably yearn for such cringe worthy clichГѓВ©s and egregiouscharacter development, and back stories. The much lauded and acclaimedacting performances of Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston culminate inthis 'piece de resistance', unlikely to be bettered this millennia.Good luck at the Academy Awards, as a Best Screenplay and Best Actorreward are positively assured.

One of the funniest movies I've seen in a while!!

J.L.S The Dinosaur Man is CRAZY! This movie is HILARIOUS! I've had Amazon scheduled to tell me when it's due to come out since the day I saw it in theaters! I was worried when going to see this movie because I didn't LOVE the last several movies Adam Sandler has been in (Click, Spanglish, Grown Ups) because he tried SO hard to put a sentimental meaning in the story that he forgot what he's good at, humor! This one is that pleases!To be honest, I'm a dealz girl and I NEVER buy a movie when it first comes out because they are just too expensive! I will but this one on day one with no regrets! It was the laugh I needed and that night, I laughed so hard I almost peed!

Ps: I am gonna say that, ...

First off, its an Adam Sandler/Jennifer Aniston film. Who can complainabout that, right? So funny meets funny drama, I likes it. The humorwas excellent and I seriously thought the two mixed just right. Okay onan island vacationing what better than to throw a super model in themix. hint hint Brooklyn Decker shows off her newest acting career beingalong a supporting cast to say the least. It worked, what can I say.So, drama as couples try and solve life issues all in one vacation,pretty much. Jeez, where's the excitement of dipping your feet in thepool, oh wait!, Jennifer Anistion shows off her gorgeous body and nailsthe role of an ex. Plus that Dave Mathews character plays a greatsupporting role and the music is a plus too.Don't wanna sound so over going and boring, yet, just expect Adam andJennifer thats all I can say without giving any of it away.Cheers guys, and please go spend your well earned money you will enjoythis one, I promise!skotti signing out.

not expecting this: job well done

I've seen almost all of Jennifer Aniston's movies and most of them Ireally did not like. So my expectations of "Just go with it" were verylow. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was laughing withtears in my eyes the first 20min of watching this movie and I didn'tstop laughing till the screen showed black.Al though the movie almost is 2 hours long, I wasn't bored at any time.The story was well written, the acting was amazing and hilarious and itwas original in it's jokes. It did have a typical ending, but for onceit didn't bother me because of the good build up in the story and thedevelopment of the characters.If you do have a weakness for typical comedy movies, but can't seem tofind a good one these days, definitely check out this one: laughterguaranteed!

This is a really funny film.

This movie is one of those Adam Sandler films for which you really have to suspend reality. You have to believe that Sandler could successfully pick up a 23 year old... and a 40 something Aniston. You have to believe Sandler as a doctor. And you have to believe that love/relationships regularly move at warped speed.Once you get past all of that, this film is very entertaining. Aniston is wonderful as Sandler's office assistant who agrees to pretend to be Sandler's ex-wife so that Sandler can explain to his new crazy young/attractive love interest why he carries a wedding ring. Aniston is really funny and is a great foil to Sandler. As expected, the lie goes too far and comedy ensues. Nick Swardson, Nicole Kidman and Dave Matthews also give really entertaining and surprising performances.This movie is predictable and corny and feel good. I watched it with a friend who is only really interested in watching documentaries and even he found Sandler's sometimes gross jokes laugh out loud funny. I would definitely suggest buying this film. I definitely plan on watching it again. It's just fun.

Hilarious, funny, feel good, make you laugh kind of movie! Cute love story and comedy! Can't wait til it comes out on DVD so I can watch it again! Jennifer Aniston is beautiful and Adam Sandler is so funny. They are so good together in this movie!

Rubbish

Seriously, the movie sucked. Period. I like Sandler. He makes me laugh. The Waterboy is still a favorite of mine, just so you know where I'm coming from. No laughs here. There are a couple of scenes in the beginning of this film that are cute, but the thing nose-dives very quickly. The writing and directing are horrible. The plot makes no sense. It's not funny; it's actually very annoying, and so are almost all of the characters. And it just goes on FOREVER. I'm convinced that the 5 star reviews I've read on here are plants. They HAVE to be. No one can honestly feel that this is a good comedy.

Fantastic!

This movie was awesome! We laughed so hard through most of the movie,and the ending is what we expected, but was done nicely.Adam and Jennifer were outstanding and believable. The supporting castwere hilarious. I think this was one of Adam Sandlers' best movies yet. Jennifer Aniston is phenomenal in this movie. She passes for adown-to-earth girl next door type but shows once again that she'sbeautiful, smart and sexy.If you are looking for a feel-good movie that will make you laugh andkeep your attention, this one is for you. you surely won't bedisappointed. I can't wait to see what Adam has in store for us withhis next project.
