Story Line

Plot Summary:

Megiddo is a supernatural ride into a world teetering on the edge of the Apocalypse. It follows the rise of a Machiavellian leader bent on amassing the armies of the world for the battle of Armageddon while calamities of Biblical proportions pummel the Earth. Though both prequel and sequel to The Omega Code, Megiddo works also as a stand alone story for anyone who missed its predecessor. For at its emotional core, Megiddo is the Caine and Abel story of the two men enamoured with the same woman, raised as brothers, who grew up to find themselves pitted against each other over the fate and souls of the entire world.

Not Christian enough!

I watched Megiddo out of curiosity. It seemed interesting especially mebeing a catholic. I thought that it'll be a piture of what the armageddonwould be. I expected to be terrified, terrified that I would change mycurrent indifferent attitude towards the religion my parents chose for mewhen I was born. Well... If the end of days is going to be something likeTHAT then I better look out for a trying hard,pychotic-who-wants-to-own-everythingkind of guy and make sure that in order to be saved, I won't believe inhim. The movie is entertaining but it is not seriously depicting the content ofthe bible. The movie just literally translated what is written. It's thetype of movie I would use to scare children to eat their vegetables andnotto promote world peace.

potential unrealized

This film had the potential to be good yet suffered from being lackluster.OMEGA CODE 2 had many things going for it; one of which was a all star cast, yet this did not enhance the film. The problem with the film was thetranslation of the script to the screen. Omega Code 2 will be liked by fansof the original yet I found the film a letdown. The film does boast somebattle sequences which make the production look glossed. OMEGA CODE 2 failsfor die hard film scrutiny yet passes for popcorn and coke film fans. Oneflaw is having a bad frame job scripted into the film for the president whenhe won't join Stone Alexander. The plot point is unbelievable anddistracting.

Great Movie!

Megiddo was a great action film. It presented good graphics and battle scenes while staying true to the bible themes it represents. Most of the other reviewers covers the plot and outlook on the movie so I just wanted to second most of their movies. This movie is very good but falls short of being fantastic. I would recommend watching it.Note: This movie does not accurately portray endtimes Bible prophecy.

A SMALL GLIMPSE OF WHAT THE END OF THE BEGINNING WILL BE

This review is from: Megiddo - Omega Code 2 (DVD) No Human being can ever really comprehend what that last great battle will be like, but watching this movie, and the end, (which I did 6 times) will have you praising God and saying"Even so, Come now Lord Jesus"!!! A wonderful movie for those who await Christ's return, and are inspired and filled with hope in the watching of this movie..Not perfect, but the best I've seen in this avenue so far!

Better than the first one.

This is another film part of the growing interest regarding the End-times. Sometimes called Christian Eschatology. This film is better than the first one due to a larger budget. It has excellent performances by Michael York (Austin Powers, Logan's Run, Jesus of Nazareth) and Michael Biehn (The Terminator) This film has some parallells to Damien Omen II as it is of the same subject matter. The filmmakers only had a $20m budget, so please bear with them. A mainstream film production company would not do a film like this because the subject matter is too contreversial.

Could Have Been Better.

I had waited ever so eagerly to see this film, but it was nowhere near the Biblical blockbuster that I had hoped to see.Whilst appreciating that any subject relating to Biblical prophecy must be a very difficult theme to tackle and convert into a film, there is far too much missing here for it to have the credibility & detail that really shown have blown an audience's mind at this moment in time. There is no reference to the Rapture or the 'Mark of the Beast'.The central role of Jerusalem, The Temple and Israel in end times events receives hardly any mention whatsoever. With these subjects being vital to any interpretation of end time prophecies their absence is disturbing.I appreciate that Megiddo is in Israel, (I have actually visited the scene), but the less informed would perhaps miss even this factor due to the lack of reference and detail.I applaud those concerned for tackling this subject. The public really need an awesome, epic publication along these lines. A film that can stand scrutiny, ooze truth & integrity and grab the attention. One that can really attract and inform the masses as we approach the actual time period itself. The world is crying out for such a film. Please try again and concentrate on the prophecies, inform the viewers of the actual prophecies themselves and their context and then base the characters around them. I have studied Biblical prophecy for a number of years but whilst watching this film I found myself guessing at times as to what exactly was being referred to.

TBN ruins the book of Revelation

Terrible piece of work! A film that wanted to make a big statementabout parts of end times prophecy and just turned out pop trash. What apity! There are some good actors who must have received poor direction. It is such a waste to see Michael York sputtering out melodramaticmonologues where subdued performing would have been better. And MichaelBeihn being our patriotic hero and "savior"...he must be looking backat this film and shaking his head in embarrassment. Udo Kier also getslost in this mess. Poor direction, overacting, a patchwork of CGI andstock footage makes up the world chaos and battle scenes. But whatreally kills this production is the story. The book of Revelations hasmade good fodder for pop Christian end times stories. But please, making the US of all countries the leader of the coalition against thedevil? All the patriotic and faith prayers of the US president? As aChristian, I was offended by the whole thing. If they were making apure piece of fiction, it would have been low grade fare to start with. But TBN at the production helm implies they meant it to be a seriousdrama about what end times would actually look like. And the resultsare laughable. Read the book of Revelation yourself and be challengedand blessed. Don't waste your time on this lousy film.

3 1/2 stars for imagination, 1/2 star for effects

I watched this after renting the Omega code 1 and this film is a prequel and a sequel to that movie at the same time.It tells the story of how Stone got to become the Beast himself (generally a down hill slide since he was pissed off at the death of his mother giving birth to his younger brother- I guess you have the choice of going to therapy or becoming the Prince of Darkness - Stone chooses the second)There is a love triangle thrown in for good measure between Stone and his brother David and Gabriella (as in the angel Gabriel, get it?)To try and some up the dizzying plotline in a pragraph would be tough, but it's basically about the Devil wanting to take over the world through the construction of a world union that gives him all the power - all the nations go along with this except for America and China, - a big battle at the Biblically prophesized Megiddo ensues. The special effects in the film are TV quality and it does let the film down in the end when the devil appears looking a little more fleshed out than a Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtle. All that aside, the storyline is quite engaging and the film is eminently watchable and a worthy successor to the first film. But does the President of the United States have to end up being God's representative to save the day?

The worst movie I've ever seen

No, seriously, I know how many common people will tend to use anunprofessional "the worst" or "the best" when reviewing something. Inever exaggerate like that, but in this case I can really not find amovie in my memory that I've seen that was worse than this one. I can'tstop from using the unprofessional "I" perspective either, since thisspecial movies requires a special kind of review. I could try an listall the negative things about the movie here, but the thought of mehaving to think about this movie for that long makes me reach for thegun. So let's be brief.Megiddo seems to be a home-made attempt by some 60-year-old Christianconservative to create a patriotic movie. Although the concept itselfmight discourage masses to see this thing, the movie even fails to bewhat it's supposed to...miserably.The plot is basically this: Europe and the neighbors become unitedunder the command of the devil, who plans to take over the world. Godshowers the Earth with rocks while the US stands alone against theworld with its super-president dressed in black leading the fightagainst the devil. Does that make sense? If it does (and you are asmessed up as I thought), it's where the sense ends. The details of thestoryline are much more appalling.Actor choice wasn't bad. Michael York does his work as the bad guy, butin all his demonic power, he can't save this flick. The rest of theactors are just trying to make long working hours, and York isn'tinnocent of that either.Special effects and camera work are surprisingly good at times, andabsolutely TERRIBLE the rest of the time. It's as if the effects weredone by two different teams.I wish to speak of this no longer and I will try to pray away the shameand sin of having seen this movie, although after seeing it, the deviland God suddenly don't seem as cool, powerful or scary anymore. I begyou to never go and see this movie unless you're loaded on painkillersor like to practice masochism.

I had a great time watching this!

Omega Code 2 is a lot of fun! York is even more fun than he was in the first Omega Code! Fun is the name of the game with both Omega Codes. I just wish there was a thrid one. Give us Omega Code 3!!

a movie of biblical proportions!

This movie has a great cast headed by stars Michael York (Logan's Run) and Michael Biehn (Asteroid). The special effects are great and the story is plausible and well acted and directed. York plays powerful Stone Alexander who was raised in Europe and Biehn his brother David who happens to be the president of the United States. Great good vs. evil movie, I can only recommend it.

(2013-05-10 17:06:58)

Jesus loves the red, white and blue.

As far as propaganda goes, this movie lays it on pretty thick. Good conquers, with all the enemies of God being struck down by lightning. Yes, actual bolts of lightning. The story is simple. The Antichrist (Michael York) arises to power and glory, and the only one who can stand against him is his little brother, who happens to be the President of the United States (Michael Beihn). As the two Michaels (I mean brothers) face off against each other in the final act, there is a great battle at the city of Meggido and the winner is, of course, God.Michael York is quite good in his rediculously overblown role as the evil one. He gleefully spouts biblical rhetoric and cackles evilly at the most appropriate moments, making a perfectly hateful enemy. Michael Beihn fares less well, as the Vice President of the U. S. who has the role of President (and righteous adversary) thrust upon him. The screenwriters had all their fun with the role of the villain, and didn't save much for the good guy. Plus, Beihn actually tries to inject some real emotion and dimension into his character. You can almost get a glimpse of his acting skill as it tries to transcend his lackluster role. The effects are quite well done though, i'll give them that. The final battle seems incredibly grand in scale, tanks and soldiers and hundreds of firey explosions everywhere! Not to mention the airplanes and choppers! There is one really good air-to-air combat scene, where I felt like I could actually be in the plane as it descended into the fray. Good stuff! The Antichrist revealed in his daemon shape is slightly less well done but probably as good as the technology and the budget could make him. It's better than The Rock's face in 'The Mummy Returns' (that made me actually laugh in the theatre).Udo Kier appears in his latest creepy servant-of-darkness role, and is not bad. Besides, Micheal Beihn always looks good in camoflage pants. :)Never mind the televangelist at the beginning of the tape telling us how important this film is, and how armageddon is only years away. This is a MOVIE, people! And according to this one, your only hope is to live in "the God-blessed United States"!Two stars. I have seen worse.

Megiddo: Doomsday or Resurrection?

I went to see the exciting apocalyptic movie, Megiddo, yesterday. Baseduponthe prophetic books of Daniel and Revelation from the best selling book inall history, the Bible, it can hardly be dismissed as mere escapistentertainment. It provides intense, gripping, suspenseful, andthought-provoking material in the light of current world events, with aliberal dose of hope and optimism thrown in to redeem the feel goodfactor. It's controversial, shocking in places, and the acting is exceptional, mostnotably from Michael York as the Machiavellian megalomaniac, and MichaelBiehn, whose character perfectly counterbalances as his resented youngerbrother. The direction, cinematography, and screenplay are vibrant, vivacious, and at times stunning, ensuring Megiddo's status as a seriouscontender for the most outstanding moviegoing experience of the year sofar.

Great actors somewhat carry story

This is a mediocre film with a somewhat confused script, but good togreat actors still make it worth a watch. If nothing else, it's greatto hear Michael York read the ancient texts. He also injected somegreat Shakespearian quotes. Also, R. Lee Ermey is a great Marine "toughguy" President. This film promotes some views that are not politically fashionable(i.e. a concept that a highly popular yet evil world leader will charmand manipulate the world, and the concept that the US should governitself). Some people are "shocked, shocked to learn that gambling" excuse me, tolearn that a film actually markets some political and/or religiousviewpoints in its story. How naiive! Many films today market some kind of political and/orsocial agenda, but if their views are politically fashionable then fewcomplain. But just maybe someone will get curious and read the Bible books ofRevelation (and Daniel) for him or herself. Remember that Hitler and Stalin and Lenin (to name the top evil butcharming dictators of the 20th Century) had charm for theirfollowers...An Antichrist would certainly be a larger, more powerfultype...waiting to charm us all.

it's a Christian thing an atheist wouldn't understand:

Most of the reviews here seem to be written by Godless mockers who arejust trying to be smart *sses. Although in order to make it interestingthe movie has added a bunch of junk about computer "codes" the moviereally does seem to do a good job following Biblical prophecy. HalLindsey who is a well known expert on biblical prophecy was an adviser.First read the book of Daniel then read the Book of Revelation. By theway this movie has nothing whatsoever to do with Nostradamus. The Moviewould have been better if the sequel "Omega code" had been bundled withit. Thats really all I have to say but since that is less than tenlines I need to babble on like the rest of the people here who want tomake them selves seem important.

Omega Code 2

I liked this movie better than the first Omega Code. Although it is called Omega Code II, it really isn't a sequel of the first one and can be watched with no knowlege of it. Full of suspence and Biblical truths, it keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Worse B Movie I have ever seen

This movie was laughable. Poor acting , poor script, poor directing, poor special effects. Reminded me of something made in the fifties to bore kids in Sunday school. No, those were much, much better.

Major Missed Opportunity

For a film about the true 'drama of the ages', Megiddo misses the mark almost completely. This is not because of a limited budget or marginal acting: Megiddo does well here on both counts.Michael Biehn and Michael York are both talented actors, and aren't just 'play acting' in front of the blue screen. They give fine performances- -especially York (who has the unfortunate task of playing the Anti-Christ). The failure of Megiddo lies mainly in the hands of its writers, who put forth such bloated, outlandish storyline that was is factual seems fictional. Characterization is all but exempt, with the exception of York's "Stone Alexander". But then, do we really want to get inside the head of the devil-in-the-flesh ? This is like wanting to preheat a microwave oven. What's the point ? But no ! The writers of Megiddo want us to see it all, and so the viewer is subjected to seeing young Stone putting a lit match in his brother's crib !There are ways of portraying utter evil, but the Megiddo writers succeed only in offending with this obese monstrosity. What could have been an incredible witnessing tool is reduced to incoherent nonsense. That is the real tragedy of this film.

(2013-05-06 02:47:41)

The Total Blasphemy Network's latest project ....

Fortunately, this movie has little to do with the theologically errant Omega Code I. Unfortunately, it also has little to do with the Bible. While it is entertaining, I would absolutely not show it to an unsaved friend. Despite TBN's claims, it is not a good witnessing tool. Apocalypse/Revelation/Tribulation/Judgement are much better for witnessing.

Really, Really Bad

Really, really bad. Many Christian films make you embarrassed to be associated to that limb of the Body of Christ. I wouldn't show this film to any non-Christian; they would laugh at Christ. This film makes Christians, and Christianity cartoon-ish. There is a better way to make a statement...try not over-acting, and being mello-dramatic. Anyone remember a good story?Try "Late one Night" by Christiano films.
