Quarantine 2: TerminalThis review is from: Quarantine 2: Terminal (DVD) This is a science fiction story continued from Quarantine 1 about an invisible disease from outer space that is out to destroy everyone on earth. Not something for the kiddies! |

Many people actually enjoyed this ugly movie?(FYI, I didn't view part 1, and based on my experience with part 2, Idon't care to!) This movie has no redeeming value, except that theacting should meet your requirements, if you are interested in a gorefest that has no heart, no humor, and no point. These "characters"aren't all that sympathetic, though.I should have read the "fine print;" I mistakingly thought that itwould be fun to view characters confronting zombies in the confinedspaces of an airplane up-in-the-air. (I must have misunderstood thesubtitle, "Terminal," LOL). The characters mostly confront the zombiesin a so-called-working-part-of-an-airline-terminal; in this movie, thatequates to a setting that never seems to make any sense. Also turnsout, a comprehensible setting is one of those mysterious things thatare necessary to instill sweet horror in this viewer. There's no particular suspense, since the characters aren't all thatsympathetic. It's just gory but, basically, boring. Unless you might enjoymeaningless mayhem. I prefer my mayhem with a little suspense or alittle heart or a little humor. |

Certainly Better Than the Previous FilmQuarantine 2 (2011) ** 1/2 (out of 4) Better than average sequel has a group of people heading off in a planebut on the journey one of them gets sick and they are forced to returnto the airport. Once there they are all put under a quarantine and sooneach of them start changing due to some sort of virus. The originalfilm was a poorly made, scene-for-scene remake of a wonderful Spanishfilm but thankfully this sequel decides to do its own thing and itdoesn't try to just rip REC 2. What I really enjoyed in this sequel isthat it takes place at the same time as the events in the first movie.Early on one of the passengers is watching a news clip of the eventsgoing on at the apartment complex and the way the two films are broughttogether was nicely done. I really enjoyed how this film tries toexpand on the events of the first film and the way they connect themwas nicely done. With that said, there is one major flaw and that's the"reason" behind the virus. We finally learn the cause of the virus andwhy it's out there and you can't help but roll your eyes when you learnwhat it is. Performances are pretty good here with Mercedes Mosohn andNoree Victoria really standing out. One issue with the film is that itreally lacks any atmosphere, which is a real shame. There's a tad bitwhen the people are on the plane due to how tight of a space they haveto deal with but once the action hits the hanger things start to diedown. It might have been a more clever idea to keep everyone on theplane. Fans of the gore certainly won't be disappointed as there'squite a bit of violence and plenty of flesh is bitten off. QUARANTINE 2went straight to DVD and it's easy to see why because it's really justa "B" movie at heart. With that said, it's a pretty good "B" movie thatdelivers some nice thrills. |

Better than the first QUARINTINE, a fun time!On the same night the apartment complex seen in the original film wasquarantined off due to an viral infection spreading through thebuilding, infecting the residents & those trapped inside it's walls, anpassenger on a flight, bitten by a lab rat, also turns into an infectedmonster, that tries to attack the other passengers. When the flightlands at the airport they find the place deserted with the exception ofone workman & much to their horror, they to are quarantined off by aSWAT team, with helicopters circling above, assassinating anyoneattempting to leave. As time goes on, more people get infected & turninto ravenous creatures, while the remaining survivors attempt toescape from both the creatures & the SWAT team, who plot to killeveryone inside that may have the virus in order to prevent it fromspreading further. QUARINTINE 2 despite being a sequel to the originalfilm of the same name, which in itself was a shot for shot remake ofthe Spanish nail shredder REC, is not a remake of REC 2. REC 2's plottwists is that the infected tenants of an apartment complex are notzombies but rather demons & the film like the original REC is set atthe same location. American producers & the studio that produced theremake & this sequel forsook the plot of the Spanish sequel & decidedto keep their infected victims as zombies & instead relocated theiraction to an abandon airport & created a new set of characters &situations. As a result, QUARINTINE 2 is a much better viewingexperience, simply because with the original film, I had already seenREC before it, therefore whatever suspense & scares the originalQUARINTINE could have had, was severely dampened, since I knew what wasgoing to happen to the characters & how the film was going to end.QUARINTINE 2 also has the advantage of being better than it'spredecessor. It has plenty of suspense & scares, good gore effects, great acting & better direction. The film is pretty fun to watch & thewhole film & it's story manages to keep you engaged from beginning toend. Highly recommended to horror fans, don't miss it!***1/2 stars |

Better than the first one! Quarantined with the luggage!Went into this one thinking it would probably be worse than the first Quarantine. It was far better and probably should have been made instead of the first one which was shot for shot a bad copy of [Rec], which was a much better version. Most of this movie takes place on the ground or tarmac in the luggage delivery section of the airport and is not a ripoff of Flight of the Living Dead: Outbreak on a Plane as another reviewer stated. Although technically not a zombie film, it's close enough. IE: they're infected and look it, they bite you, you become infected and look it.. Sounds pretty zombie to me!This takes place at the same time as the events in Quarantine. The reason behind the infection is revealed in the movie. This 720p Stream looked fantastic on my HD Plasma! None of the scenes were too dark. |

Above Average Horror...Nothing New, HoweverAll in all, Quarantine 2: Terminal was a decent enough horror movie forme to recommend seeing at least once. The scares and outcome are prettymuch predictable, but there are still enough shocks to satisfy. Theacting was decent, even though there was the standard horror filmclichéd characters. The gore was prevalent, but not that over the topfor a "zombie" killing film...with the exception of the "antedote"scene: when you see it, you'll know what I'm talking about. With all that said, I really only had two problems with the plot....sohere is where the spoiler comes in.********************SPOILER ALERT*****************SPOILERALERT********* 1) The guy in the wheelchair, with Parkinson's....howwas he able to survive the carnage in the plane? The pilot, co-pilot,infected rat, big fat infected guy, etc...were all left behind on theplane. And the guy in the wheelchair was left in his seat as everyoneelse escaped to the terminal. It was not until they all came back laterthat we see that the fat guy broke free and infected them all...butsomehow, the immobile and helpless old man was spared.2) Since the CBDT knew they were never going to let the people insidethe terminal out alive, especially since they murdered their own menwhen they tried to leave, why did it take them so long to firebomb thebuilding? If they were serious about containment, they would haveburned it down right away...not give some a chance to escape. |

A much better movie then the first one. Better camera and not as slow, for the first 30 min at least. Expected worse. I say B-"Do not attempt to leave the terminal, help is on the way. You are nowunder quarantine." After a passenger attacks others on a plane, thepilot makes an emergency landing. When they discover that the terminalis locked down and there is no escape things only get worse when thesickness spreads. I will admit that I thought the first "Quarantine"was pretty slow and boring. This one for the first 30-45 min wasactually entertaining and a good watch. Then, like the first one, becomes very, very repetitive and slows way down. The characterdevelopment is lacking and you don't really feel to much for any of thepeople in the movie, but after watching the first one you pretty muchknow what to expect from this one. The best part about it is that it isshot like an actual movie, and not the grainy, green feel of the firstone. Overall, a much better movie then the first one, but the "Rec"movies are still better. I give it a B-.Would I watch again? - I don't think I will *Also try - Quarantine & Rec 2 |

Tolerable rehash. There isn't really all that much to say about this movie, except thatit's pretty much more of the same. It wears its influences on itssleeve, being highly derivative of 28 Days Later, which itself wasalready fairly derivative. If this is a big problem for you, I'dsuggest that you avoid Quarantine 2, because you're just going to getmad at how little originality is on display.Instead of remaking Rec 2, this movie is more of a standalone story setin the same universe as Quarantine. This time, instead of being set inan apartment complex, it's briefly set on an airplane, then a terminal.Rec (and Quarantine, the American remake) was notable for being shotfirst person, while this movie is not. That might disappoint somepeople, but I wasn't really fond of the trend, in the first place. Thestory is contemporaneous with the story of the first movie, with briefreferences to it, here and there. You don't need to have seen the firstmovie, but that's partially because this movie is so derivative ofother movies, you've already seen this plot several times before. Thatsaid, as far as these sorts of movies go, this was fairly well actedand competently directed, though the director falls back on usingextremely loud noises as a rather annoying crutch. Just when youthought there might be some character development, extended dialogue,or moment for reflection, there was an extremely loud noise and a rabidperson burst through a wall. Often, first time directors will err onthe side of slow pacing, though I think the characters obviouslysuffered a bit for the relentlessly fast pacing. The writer/directoralso wrote Ghost Ship, which was laughably bad. Unfortunately, hehasn't really progressed as a writer since then. I guess if you didn'tmind Ghost Ship, you won't be offended by this, either. However, assilly as I found Rec 2's supernatural aspect, it was an interestingtwist to the whole "rage virus" subgenre of horror movies. Quarantine 2plays it straight and just lets loose a bunch of rabid humans on aclichéd group of people who perpetually seem to populate the scripts ofhack writers. If I seem overly harsh, it's only because I'm tired of watching thesame movie over and over, with very little variation. If you're a fanof scifi/action/horror movies, you've seen this all before, right downto the characters, the action sequences, and the supposed "homages".Why bother being original if nobody calls you on your lack ofcreativity? |

Quarantine 1 + 2 = "Aliens"This review is from: Quarantine 2: The Terminal (Amazon Instant Video) Another open ended plot which I liked about it... Didn't have the shock value of the first one but I thought it was well done... The lead character, Jenny (Mercedes Masohn) was definitely a hottie... I think the zombie makeup in Q2 more resembled the makeup effects in REC and REC 2... was probably intentional after all the user reviews... The REC fanboys spoiled it for the fans of Quarantine... I personally liked the makeup effects better in Quarantine... Q2 had a DTV production quality about it but the acting was very good... I couldn't help but be reminded of James Cameron's "Aliens" in some scenes in Q2... especially the scene in the airplane cargo hold when they were looking through the luggage... Tribute to "Aliens" without a doubt... just like the elevator scenes in the first Quarantine were inspired by the scenes in "Aliens"... I wonder if there will be a Quarantine 3... I don't want to give away a spoiler but... the plot suggests all hell breaking loose if there is a Q3... |

Equal to/ better than the first! This review is from: Quarantine 2: The Terminal (Amazon Instant Video) Anyone who likes a zombie movie is going to love this. What is great about this sequel is that it doesn't follow that first person film style. It is the more traditional 3rd person that we all know so well. The story line is great and you learn a little bit more of what is going on and how the virus started. Acting is very good, and there is a lot of suspense and scenes that will make you jump out of your seat like the first one had. Quarantine is definitely one of my favorite zombie movies! |

Quarantine one fansIf your a fan or even just liked quarantine one you will like thismovie. I felt it improved upon Quarantine 1 in every way.The background was explained a bit more and the ending was much betteras well. It also didn't take nearly as long to get the action goingprobably half the amount of time the first one took maybe less.I thought they would have trouble playing this movie out in a terminalbut it actually worked well. The best improvement overall was just abetter explanation of what is going on. My only complaint is onecharacter has a some sort of white tissue or something on his head andI could never figure out what it was.Hopefully they keep this franchise going because I enjoyed the firstone and they improved upon it in this one. |

If you can get past the "Justin Bieber" look-a-like...Quarantine 2: Terminal starts off with a who's who of disaster/zombiemovie victim choices; the overly confident beer swilling fat guygolfer, the young couple who can't keep their hands off each other, theelderly couple with one in a wheelchair, the psychotic/coward firsttime father to be and his pregnant wife, the science teacher, theworkaholic business man and young teen travelling on his own who isbeen chaperoned by a whore with a heart stewardess.Predictability ensues with Luke-warm plot twists, some requiring giantleaps of the imagination or a viewing age of under ten, and the usualstringy ballistics gel flesh bites to keep the gore fiends happy tillthe next fix; me included. The directing is uninspiring and the acting is pay-check collectingstuff, with some good performances sprinkled in between rehashes ofscenes from previously better shot movies.Quarantine 2: Terminal lacks the visceral edge of the first movie;which in turn, has nothing on the original. If you have not seen theoriginal Rec, you are missing out on a psychological fear-spewingbreath stealing masterpiece that will fill your pants faster than aten-day-old-curry. The story of the original was far better in myopinion, and the tie-up at the end ( if your asshole friend has notalready told you about it; not because he watched it, but because heheard about it ) is for me, one of the most frightening visualskin-scuttling experiences I've ever had with a movie.Quarantine 2: Terminal is still more than passable at what it does: bea mindless zombie movie. If you are looking for a deeper understandingas to how things became what they became, the explanation might leaveyou a little deflated. As I said, if you take it for what it is youmight like it... for what it is. That is if you can get past the"Justin Bieber" look-a-like who gets far too many scenes( can you saytarget audience? )and the stereotypical vomit-inducing hardworking allAmerican maintenance worker who stresses that he only works to put foodon the table for his three year old; and if that didn't make it clearenough that he is a "Plot-stitching iron-spine working-class-savior" healso wears a badge on his safety jacket with a picture of his kid...yes, a badge; no not a cape, just a badge, just in case you forget, while he forgets to load someones luggage, or make off with someonessocks. *NOT PART OF THE PLOT!!!*-{ A great percentage of the best horror movies are foreign. Don't beafraid of them! }- |

Really enjoyed itI thought this was going to blow but I am happy to report that I waswrong.I really enjoyed this sequel. Once I watched it, I went back to viewthe original again.I'm also glad they got rid of the "shakey hand held camera" that theyused in the first one. This style of camera work was good when it firstcame out. Now I find it really annoying.Don't expect an Oscar winning film and story line. Go watch this moviethinking you are going to see a really cool zombie movie.Trust me on this one, you won't waste your time or money on this movie. You'll probably want to go see Resident Evil, Rammbock and all thoseother cool zombie movies. |

Zombie-pantomimeI had to review this movie after reading tj_director distorted review.Firstly,If you have not already watch REC. Never make assumptions orcompare any movie with other movies you have never seen! Quarantine isa American clone from the original REC. Movies like Ringu (the ring)had a great base, western audiences may have connected with the storydespite it being filmed within a different culture. I strongly feel aremake was plausible. Most Japanese-American remakes have becomedistinctive and popular in their own right. However, my first problem with the Quarantine series, the script wasreused, the movie was shot with the same feel, The set design wasidentical, the characters all looked the same etc etc etc. I find ithard to contrast the movies in anyway. Except the language. Quarantineoffered no new insight however it did present what was great in REC toa American audience. I rate both movies highlyThe difference between both REC and Quarantine is where the sequelsbegin to detour. REC 2 follows on from the events and gives insightinto some unanswered questions whilst remaining humble to the originalmovie(s) aesthetics. Quarantine 2 shows the virus spread within a smallairport terminal. Inside the terminal the movie shifts dynamic andcenters on a terrorism storyline (which seems very common in movies oflate) that contributed to ruining the movie and distorting how greatthe original movies were. If you are a fan of REC 1,2 and Quarantine avoid this movie like aplague. It bares no resemblance to these horror movies except by name.It is a badly made B-movie. It features sparse amounts of zombiespopping in frame like a really bad zombie-pantomime. The set design wasreused resembling a scene in Sesame St. This has to be worst horror-movie of 2011, utterly disgusted it is a sequel to Quarantine. Robert |

Good pace, not that predictableI actually liked this movie, my personal opinion of course. Of course, theme has been used over and over and then some more. But this version, it has some good ideas, you don't have to have seenthe first one, there is mention of it of course, but it's notimportant. It can stand on it's own. There are the typical characters, good, bad, stupid, etc..., but it has a good flow. The acting was OK, not a high budget film, but you get to feel for themand relate to the dilemma.I guess it's not a zombie movie, no one is dead, but more like theCrazies, still, it does keep you watching, no need to fast forward someparts. Now there are some parts that are hard to relate to, in Canada I don'tthink someone would have a hand gun in their stuff and how did the badguys bag get to a locked office Hmm..Anyway, worth renting if you like this type of movies, if you arelooking for a cult classic.. not happening.thanks for reading :) |

get ready to be raped by your couch cushionQuarantine 2 showed a pre-view for REC2 the original Spanish languagefilm that started this all REC. All though it had the usual nightvision camera pop-up rabid zombies, it did nothing to dispel the fearand in trepidation of Quarantine 2 terminal. Here we find ourselves ona plane with already one infected person, and as we're waiting forpop-goes the weasel we're getting distracted by the fact that thisvirus is unleashed by ordinary men and women apocalyptic zealots andthe government new about it with a by the book response. The planeunbeknown to all but one is fleeing LA. Diverted to Las Vegas. Theyland in the terminal they get quarantined by trigger-happy governmentstorm troopers. The pilots and passengers start the "TURNING". As moreand more information is gleamed, about LA the survivors start turningon each other to see who infected the others. The lights go off and itsup to the survivors to make it out of the terminal while avoiding theinfected and the police. |

A Surprisingly Entertaining Horror FilmIn Los Angeles, the police put a residential building in quarantine.Meanwhile, the flight attendants of the Trans Sky Air Jenny (MercedesMasöhn) and Paula (Bre Blair) are welcoming the passengers of theflight TS Air 318 from Los Angeles to Kansas City with Captain Forrest(John Curran) and Co-Pilot Wilsy (Andrew Benator). The teacher Henry(Josh Cooker) brings a cage of hamsters to the cabin, but Jenny tellshim that it should be transported in the cargo hold. However, onehamster bites the fingertip of the fat passenger Ralph (George Back). Sooner, Ralph vomits and becomes aggressive, attacking Paula. The malepassengers help Jenny and lock Ralph in the bathroom while CaptainForrest requests an emergency landing. When they land in the airport, they find all the gates closed and the Captain heads the plane to anabandoned terminal. The employee Ed (Ignacio Serricchio) helps the crewand passenger to reach the exit, but they find that they are closed.Sooner they discover that the place is in quarantine and there is noway out."Quarentine 2: Terminal" is a surprisingly entertaining horror film, with a refreshing story of deadly virus and good performances. Myexpectations were very low, since the first "Quarentine" is a simplerip- off of "REC". However, the writers have succeeded in this Americansequel, since they changed the religious focus of "REC 2" that happensinside the same building to a terrorist (the present American paranoia)view, with the virus outbreak in a flight. My vote is six.Title (Brazil): "Quarentena 2" ("Quarentine 2") |

DEFINITELY worth watching and then getting the DVDThis review is from: Quarantine 2: The Terminal (Amazon Instant Video) I just finished watching Q2. Awesome, kicka** movie. DEFINITELY a must have for my video library. Quarantine was good, I really liked it. Q2 smokes it, hands down. All unknown "noname" actors, but you really couldn't tell. Great acting, great special effects. The lighting sometimes left something to be desired, but that barely hurt this flick. *NOTE* I don't have an HDtv, just an old fashioned SD 26" screen so that could be a factor ;)I don't want to give any spoilers, I personally hate that. All I can say is, if you thought Quarantine was good you HAVE to see this flick. Okay, 1 ***SPOILER ALERT*** (kind of)....This isn't a sequel. It happens in the same time frame as Quarantine does/did. Q is referenced several times in this movie. It was like----- "and meanwhile at the airport....." lolI'm a zombie-phile, so I don't really consider this a zombie flick. More like an "infected" flick. But that does NOT take anything away from this movie. It is on the same level as any of the so-called Blockbusters released lately IMHOI found the DVD release date on another site...August 2, 2011. Whether that is right, I can only hope. I do have digital copies of quite a few movies, but I like to have a hard copy of some as well. This is at the top of my "gotta have" list.Hope you agree |
