Plot Summary:
Rebel Without a Cause meets Ordinary People in postmillennial Manhattan, resulting in Hollywoodland director Allen Coulters Remember Me. Twilights tousle-haired Robert Pattinson plays Tyler, a chain-smoking New York University student with a substantial chip on his shoulder. Drifting through life devoid of ambition, he lost his older brother to suicide, his parents are divorced, and his father, Charles (Pierce Brosnan), spends more time in the boardroom than with his kids (Lena Olin plays Tylers mother). Tyler takes refuge in his friendships with wisecracking roommate Aidan (Tate Ellington) and artistic younger sister Caroline (Ruby Jerins). One night, he and Aidan enter a scuffle outside a club, and Sergeant Craig (Chris Cooper) takes him in for mouthing off, even though he was trying to break things up. When Aidan discovers that they go to school with Craigs daughter, Ally (Losts Emilie de Ravin), he dares his pal to date and dump the Queens coed to get back at Craig. Game for anything, Tyler gives it a try, and Ally takes the bait, but he puts all thoughts of revenge aside when he finds himself falling in love. Ten years before, Ally lost her mother (Martha Plimpton in an unbilled cameo), and she understands him better than most anyone else, but the timing is off, and the events of 911 will change the lives of both families forever. The descent toward melodrama at the end threatens to derail Coulters delicate project, but he sets things right in time to make Remember Me an affecting experience.

Confusing but then a light hit me.At first i was really confused, I was crying almost the entire movie, don't remember why. I didn't realise what had happened in the endinguntil i read a comment in here, but when i read it i had to go back andwatch the ending again. I didn't realise the date the first timebecause I'm not from the us, but i remember being in a birthday partythe same day it happened. The point is that when i realised the point of the movie, i realisedthat i loved it. It was moving in so many ways. And life is to short. And i have to agree with some of the others here. The acting was great.Peace out! |

PowerfulThere aren't very many movies done that leave a person with such a profound feeling of ANYTHING these days. Most are fluff, and I watched this without knowing anything at all about it. Hadn't seen any reviews, never saw any trailers, didn't know even what it was about other than the blurb on the back. I'm not a twilight fan, so I actually came into this partway negative simply because of the actor. But I was wrong. Don't judge a book, or a movie evidently, by the cover.I didn't know this movie was leading up to any type of climatic ending, and so I simply enjoyed it. Each scene added something, there were none that, as with most movies, you think should've ended up on the editing room floor so to speak. There was no wasted motion, no extraneous storytelling. It moved, flowed, and each scene led well to the next. The characters are well thought out, and, surprisingly to me, well acted. You got not only a feel for them, but actually FELT for them. A sense of compassion that movies have a difficult time dredging up out of the viewers. When the "big scene" at the end revealed itself with such simple measures, my jaw hit the floor. So incredibly well done, and so emotionally full of impact. And as another reviewer stated, done with an amazing amount of taste and tact.Definitely one of the best movies I've seen so far this year, and one that I will recommend to others, something I honestly almost never feel compelled to do. |

'Remember' this movieI really did like this movie, even though I have to confess that I wentdue to it being A) a romance and b) having R-Patz in it.So I was prepared to like it and really wanted to like it.I liked the acting, I liked the characters. The father-daughterrelationship directly oppositional to the Father-Son relationship (oneis over-protective, the other not protective enough) was interesting inits contrast. The "set up" was a little (no a lot) clichéd but thatdidn't bother me as much as the ending, which felt like a giant jolt -much like the drop on a roller-coaster ride.Peirce Brosnan was pretty OK and Chris Cooper - no matter what role hesgiven, always does his best. All in all a pretty solid film. |

A very accomplished and moving film. This is probably my second favourite movie of the year so far. It wasfull of great performances, excellent writing and an engaging story. Itkept me very interested, showing me a slice of a troubled man's life inhis early twenties. This was more than enough to keep me interested andconsider this a great movie. But it ended with so much more. This was powerful, sad, and uplifting film that I really can't sayenough good things about it. I'm very surprised at the 6ish rating sofar, but I do highly recommend it.I think Robert Pattinson can look forward to a strong career (he showsa great range here) if he manages to continue to produce work likethis, and isn't typecast from the Twilight saga. |

Not for the faint heartedTrue, I went to go see this because of Robert Pattinson and to see thedifference of portraying a mortal with a somewhat normal life and avampire love story. Yes, I'm a Twifan and Team Edward, and I would saythat Rob's performance as Tyler was great. I can see the movie beingnominated for the Oscars next year.Emilie de Ravin was awesome!! I probably should have waited for it tocome out on DVD. The ending was heart wrenching. I had yo go see ahappier movie to make both me and my sister feel better. This would be the second movie that Robert dies in that I've seen. Sometwist. |

Most Amazing Movie.i had to write this, i really did. i watched it today, and it washonestly one of the most touching movies i've ever seen. The ending, well it was amazing. And heartbreaking. I couldn't help but bawl myeyes out at it, it was so unexpected.oh god, and Robert. his performance was breathtaking. While watchingit, I didn't see Edward, or Cedric, I saw Tyler, this amazing, heartfelt man, with a terrible father figure. I couldn't stand hisfather from the first time I met him. Same with Ally's father.I loved Caroline, I loved everything about her. She was so witty, andtalented, and she didn't deserve anything those girls put her through,I couldn't help but cheer when Tyler shoved that girls desk. But when I saw that date on the blackboard, I couldn't help but startto cry. Everything was going so right, finally, his father started toprove his love for his children. Him and Ally were perfect together, they were in love. Caroline was happier. But it was obviously too goodto be true. I never even began to think this would be aboutnine/eleven, but i was obviously proved wrong.I started into this movie, thinking it would be a soppy love story. iwas wrong, it's an intense, perfectly acted movie that could even thetoughest man to tears. I highly recommend it. |

don't read reviews they ma spoil th emovie...you've been warned :)This was a great movie and I had a hard time thinking about anything else for a few days after watching it. I kept thinking about all the people that Tyler could have represented on that day and other days when tragedies happen and it still makes me want to cry. |

Far better than I expectedFirstly, I would like to say that although I am female, I am 37 and notan RPatz groupie. I have daughters to do that kind of thing for me. Irented the film because my list on Blockbuster was low and I thoughtthe trailer looked passable. I was more than pleasantly surprised! Thisfilm has heart, brain, humour and soul without being cheesy, preachy ornauseating. Robert Pattinson can actually act which came as a surprisehaving sat through Twilight and New Moon. If this film hadn't had suchan appealing supporting cast, I would never have found this out but Ilove Chris Cooper and Lena Olin, and Pierce Brosnin's small films arealways far better choices than his blockbusters. I think this film alsohad a special resonance for me as I was in America at the time this isset and perhaps I would not have enjoyed it quite so much without thisinsight. |

Inspiring.. Honest... A Must See! ? / Mom ReviewIt is rare when a film leaves me moved even hours after I have seen it. This film was simply amazing and one of the best films I have ever seen. The acting was top notch.. the story heart wrenching.. honest.. and real! This is a must see movie! I know a lot of young girls love RP but this movie is not for young kids. As a mom I would recommend this movie for early/mid teens and older. The emotions are far too intense and the plot line is really to mature for kids. Several vivid scenes of sex although no nudity and plenty of cussing/drinking/drug references. |

ExceptionalThis film runs similar though pertinent to a modern day Oscar winner:Ordinary People, but more honest. Darker, pure, and authentic, trulycaptivating honesty of the most difficult situations... survival. Notthe moment of dire and worst experienced, but most difficult; sometimesworst... the after math, living through it, surviving and figuring outhow to. I understand if it's not appreciated if not having experienced, but you can learn how to handle and be around those who have with alittle more understanding. I loved that it showed everyone conveys thesame heartache regardless where they come from when given the situationat hand. The time of youth and self discovery parallel to an innocencetaken from you due to such circumstance... This was beautifully done, exceptional. And then the ending... I can't spoil it for you, just tellyou how beautiful. It makes you think and appreciate every momentspent, reminding us to be strong, forgive, forget, and... live. Welldone. |

moving, brilliantBrilliantly written and portrayed. Robert Pattinson shows his tremendous range and skill. Every scene, each relationship, is compelling and rings true. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next from everyone involved. Thank you for making this movie. |

I panned this movie up until I saw it and left the movie in silenceMy Wife and I saw this movie about 3 weeks after opening. I couldn'tbelieve it. I typically dislike these movies with a passion. About 20minutes in the movie sucks you in, the roller coaster ride begins andit leaves you at the end tired, beaten, and defeated. One of the greatest movies I have seen in about fifteen years. This is a must see.Pattison was really on point with this movie. Brosnon, this was thefirst role I had seen him as the dynamic antagonist and it was amazingto see him in a role like that. The female cast members did everything to poise everything for anending that left the entire audience in silence. Like I previously stated. One of the greats films I have seen in aboutfifteen years. |

NO WAYWhen it came to the end, that's what I said-out loud NO WAY.Totaly unexpected! The movie held my attention the whole way.The whole cast was great and Rob should be very proud. He's still learning and catching on fast. My advice to these so called "critics" watch the movie....let the story line take you where it's going and don't judge it till you've watched without expectations. It stands on it's own. It was fabulous, just wicked fabulous! |

touchingI felt that this movie, overall, was touching and well made. The castwas good and the acting was believable and, well, pretty good. The plotwas very touching and I liked how the movie has romance, action, anddramatic scenes. Although I felt there were a few flaws (as they are inalmost every movie) the movie was still very well made. you couldreally relate to the characters and somewhat the story which is whatevery movie needs in order to win over the audience. At least in myopinion, I would recommend this movie to ages 13 and over, or 15 andover. I truly believe that this movie is worth watching and you willenjoy especially if your into drama and romance (and if you like RobertPattinson!) like I said the cast is very good, maybe not the best moviethat you have ever seen but definitely one of the good ones. Basically,as I mentioned before, this movie is definitely worth seeing, but keepa tissue box near you because it is quite an emotional movie. |

Beautifully Written Film That Really Makes You Value LifeOK, I'll admit, I initially wanted to see this film because I am a hugeTwilight and Robert Pattinson fan. But once I was in the theater, I wasreally drawn into the storyline and conflicts between Tyler and Allyand their dysfunctional families. The actors really brought somethingto each of their characters and really made me feel as if I wasexperiencing the same things as they were. The love between Tyler andAlly seemed genuine and you could really sense the deep feelings theyhad for each other. The ending was tastefully written, which I couldnot imagine was easy dealing with the subject matter. Overall, thismovie was touching, shocking and amazing. I would definitely see itagain! (And I'd probably cry again, too!) |

Remember Me - EnjoyableThis review is from: Remember Me (DVD) After seeing Twilight which I enjoyed I wanted to see Robert Pattinson in a different movie. This is also a love story but has some funny moments. There is also a few issues with in their families. Some very sad moments. The other actors in this movie are well known. They come together very well to make this a good movie.I have shown this to a number of my friends and they are in agreement it is a must have movie.Hopeless romantic |

Robert Pattinson as an actorI've seen him as Cedric Diggory, then Edward Cullen and now as Tyler. I felt Remember Me brought out the best of him as an actor of these three sets of movies. I did not know this movie would end that way. I came to watch it simply knowing he was in it, and though I didn't care much for the ending, the story was done so well that I could overlook the end, and even accept it after a while. Rob comes across 'real' in this film, as if this has finally let him loosen up and be more himself. However, I disagree that his role in the Twilight movies has been inadequate or negative in some way. I don't understand this big pulling down of Stephenie Meyer and her books and movies. Yes, there are faults in them, but why make a big hue and cry about them in particular? Lots of movies have big holes in them. These are pretty good and enjoyable. Rob Pattinson has done a great job as Edward - something terrifyingly challenging to agree to do when the character is portrayed to be so perfect and calm yet fast, etc etc. You go, Rob! |

Made me stop hating Robert.I was messing around on the internet and read about this film and readabout the ending of it after hearing about the ending i really wantedto see it. One of the best films I've seen in years the only problemwas i found out about the ending before i watched the film BIGGESTmistake ever!!! but even tho i knew how it would end i was stillshocked. the rest of the film was amazing also it draws you in to thecharacters more than any film I've seen in forever I don't think iblinked once i was that sucked in. i hate twilight i think its such aknock off of Buffy and also kinda Roswell if you watch it you will knowwhat i mean but that doesn't mean Robert Pattinson is bad as well iunfairly judged him because of twilight he is a really good actor.everyone go and see this film but whatever you do don't read about whathappens in it go in to it blind sit throw it all you will be very happyyou did! |

Give this movie a chanceI love Twilight and Rob First off that was the first thing that made mewant to go see it, plus the Twilight Trailer. I knew it would not be afun, happy love story. I went into this movie blind, I knew there was abig surprise, and I did not spoil it. When the ending happen I wasshocked not at all what I thought would happen (I totally had somethingelse in my mind)The whole movie was beautifully done. There was a lotof foreshadowing and drama. There was a lot of details that I pick upfrom the characters, even the props on set, and all the locations. Yesit was a slow beginning, but it was full of details and emotions. Evenif you don't like Rob, go see this movie, then go watch She out of myLeague to cheer you up. |

Kinda okay, did not like the love-story though ...For me, this is a movie with so much potential, yet ruined by thepoorly presented relationship between the two protagonists. I did notget any emotion out of the scenes with Tyler and Ally. I guess that themovie wanted to show a lot and therefore did not concentrate entirelyon them, however I still believe that the so-called love had to bepresented more passionately, not only through the 2 scenes when theywere making out. Don't get me wrong, I am not a fan of the sugar-puffedHollywood presentation of love, however I did not enjoy the somehowstiff and emotionless act of Pattinson and De Ravin. When it was notstiff, it was over-dramatized. The script contributed to the overallfeeling of a love story, not being truly ... a love story. My opinionis that it either has to be there, and it has to be GOOD, or thereshouldn't be one at all. I imagine the movie just like a pure drama, noromance, and I like the idea. Furthermore, I did not get the point of the whole Ally's-father-issue.Again, I understand what the directors probably meant, but they did goto nowhere with it. Why didn't he care about the happenings on thestreet, when this is exactly what killed his wife? Why was the momentwith the disappointing of Ally so important? Just to make it morecliché or what? What did we actually learn for the father? What did helearn during the movie and how did his relationship with Tylor changed?Just throwing some drama-stuff at us is not going to work, movie! Another thing - what was so important about cutting the girl's hair?Okay, you may think I am an a*****e, but I have been through exactlythe same period as a child, and guess what - my parents did not pay atall that much attention and I grew up as a secure person with perhapseven too much self esteem. Of course, there is the dead brother issue, but come on, this was so over-dramatic...Interesting final, even though I felt it a bit misplaced, but let's sayI just did not expect it. Overall I kinda enjoyed the movie to certain point, decided to writeabout the negative parts of it though. Certainly not one of myfavorites and for sure nothing that shouldn't be skipped. P.S. The description of the movie is wrong. Ally does not live to thefullest, at least I did not get any of this idea, except that she eatsher dessert before the main course (which I find annoying, it is somuch better to suffer a bit before receiving what u want ;) ) |
