Surprisingly good.I stumbled upon this show on the internet and was intrigued, I'd beenlooking for a new drama to watch for a while. The first episode startedoff fantastic, a perfect pilot for this show. The episodes keep youinterested as you try and figure out what's going to happen next.Revenge is dark, mysterious and features a little romance as EmilyThorne is trying to plot revenge against the people who destroyed herfather's life. I won't go into too much detail as this show is betterif you don't know much about it. Emily VanCamp is great in the leadrole and Madeleine Stowe is charming and devious as "Queen" VictoriaGrayson. 'Revenge' will likely become a guilty pleasure with it'stwists, mystery and tragedy keeping you engaged each week. |

Good but could have been better** spoilers ** I like the show, especially the first half of the season.Unfortunately, the producers ran out of ideas too quickly; the last twoepisodes I watched (8 & 9) were boring. The return of the fake AmandaClarke to town is not that interesting, and so is the character ofTyler. The latter doesn't fit into the story. They should also try tobuild a more realistic story. -- there are too many James Bondcharacters in the show. But I will finish to watch the season, I wantto know who killed Daniel -- I'm sure it has nothing to do with Emily,my bet is that the fake Amanda has something to do with it. Maybeseason two will be a revenge of Emily against Amanda, the two seem tohate each other. Or maybe they will surprise us. The good thing is that the two main characters, Emily and Victoria, areexcellent. I like how the story evolves that Emily starting to reallylike Daniel and now also knows that Charlotte is her half sister. Herrevenge plans will have to change. |

Excellent story, even if you don't love dramaI generally tend to shy away from drama shows, the petty bickering, gossip, and backstabbing holds very little appeal to me. Revengehowever caught my attention. A friend suggested it and I figured whynot watch one episode. I now find myself looking forward to the nextepisode and the insights it will bring. Though the premise itself isnot all that unique, the characters are excellently portrayed. The maincharacter is an excellent blend of enough light that you root for her,but there is a distinct darkness that dwells within the her. I fearhowever, that this show is distinctly limited and cannot last. Overallan excellent show, though it's not a light show so don't watch it as apick-me-up! |

Great show - Revengefully addictive!I was extremely impressed watching the pilot online. 'Revenge' has hugepotential. It is based on 'The Count of Monte Cristo' by AlexandreDumas. It usually takes me more than an episode or two to like a showbut I can assure you this one will get you hooked right away. I can'twait to see how Emily/Amanda gets her revenge on each and every one ofthe people who destroyed her and her father's lives. How far will shego to satisfy her vengeance? Who will her next target be? Will peoplefind out about her real intentions? These are just a few of manyquestions to be answered. Tune in! You do not want to miss Emily's'Revenge'! |

Best network show! This is by far the best show since Nip/Tuck and Damages and on primetime. Every week, it gets more intense without the predictability. Ithas so many layers to it where each week a new layer is peeled backrevealing more of the core and leaving us wanting more and wonderingwhat will happen next. My 10 year old loves this show and since hecannot watch either Nip/Tuck or Damages, he is able to see what greatTV and great writing is all about without the use of profanity ornudity. Please, please keep the seasons coming. Emily and Nolan are agreat team and we love Nolan's sense of sarcastic humor. There is somuch that can be done with the characters that I cannot wait to seewhat happens next. Love it! |

An eye for an eyeAn eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a life for a life. This isright out of Hammurabi' s Code. Not the code of Christianity. If we goby this philosophy we'll all be blind, toothless, and destroyed. I like the intro thing in the first episode though. 'We were taught inSunday school...do unto others...'But revenge is not good. We're supposed to turn the cheek.Matthew Chapter 5 "43 You have heard that it hath been said, Thou shaltlove thy neighbor, and hate thy enemy. 44 But I say to you, Love yourenemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them thatpersecute and calumniate you: 45 That you may be the children of yourFather who is in heaven, who makes his sun to rise upon the good, andbad, and rain upon the just and the unjust." -douai-rheims publicdomain bible |

on my watch listThis show was the one that made me want to sign up on IMDb to raveabout. I had some preconceived notions of what this show would be likeand which demographic it would appeal to (not mine) and was notexpecting to like it at all. Was I pleasantly surprised! I like the waythe story is unfolding. I like that the characters are believable, aside from the fact that they are all incredibly attractive. I'm a little surprised by the ratings so far, and haven't seen anyreviews to explain them. They don't spell everything out for you, sothat could put some people off. I imagine not everyone has met peoplewho are like the characters in the show, so the characters may seemsomewhat unrealistic in that sense. It is not happy, fun-loving, ortrivial at all. It is serious and a bit dark - like Dexter, but withoutthe humorous elements. It could be that it could use more narration, inorder to make the lead character more relatable. Personally, I'm a little excited to see how this story plays out andthe impediments that the main character will have to face in carryingout her revenge. I am sure that as she becomes better acquainted withothers, her task will become more difficult to carry out. Or will sheturn out to be more of a sociopath? My biggest concern with this series is how long the process of revengewill be drawn out. Are they intending for it to take several seasons? Will it be more swift, with the ultimate focus being the consequencesof her actions or perhaps discovering an insatiable desire to createher own justice where she sees fit? I like the potential here, Isuppose it will not take long to determine where they are going withthe series. |

"Revenge" for pussiesWhen you see a show about revenge, you want to like it. In fact youwant to love it. Who doesn't love a revenge story. But when I saw"Revenge" on IMDb and PG rating, I thought to myself, this might be oneof those stories for those gullible teenage girls and absolutely notfor matured audience, who love a matured revenge story. So, I droppedthe plan of watching it. Then again after reading some reviews and whenI had nothing to watch, I thought I'll give it a try.Boy was I right, this series sucks big time. First of all when you see revenge and PG you know that there isseriously something wrong with the show. The weak story and so manyloop holes and occasional loud music make the show look like a scarymovie on revenge. If you love shows like "Desperate housewives" and Ifyou want to make a little teenage girl, that is hidden somewhere insideyou happy, then this is the show for you. If you are more of a "Dexter"kind of person and really love matured and well written shows then staythe hell away from this one. Unless people stop watching crap likethis, TV is never going to improve it's standard and so are the idioticwriters that write stories like these.Even after reading this warning if you watch this show, then I'm surejust after watching 2 episodes you'll be plotting your own revengeagainst the writers and creator of this show... :-P |

We Love Revenge! We Love Revenge, our family looks forward to it! We hope it lasts morethan a season. It would be an added bonus if Emily and Nolan could have a inadvertentside business to help others, (who wouldn't actually know it's Emilyand Nolan helping them) to seek Revenge. Wouldn't it be great! That wayeven when/if Emily has most everyone crossed off her list, she'll stillbe at it :).Let's hope Emily, Nolan and Jack don't end up being psychos. That wouldspoil it for us.We love that those she seeks Revenge on, are publicly humiliated - Itserves them right! |

Reverse.Usually the idea is better than the execution.Reverse is true here. The ideas are a poor rehashing.Seen three ruinations so far and they were pathetically simple.Could rant about the complete lack of subtlety and sophistication inscreen writing nowadays but pointless.Unfortunately this lack of imagination is particularly worrisome here, because this is not a miniseries. If they can't even scrape together the inventiveness to make therevenge interesting, how will they come up with enough ideas to fillentire seasons. Exactly how many people could possibly have conspired to knock off herfather ?If they can be crossed out with such childish trickery how long beforeshe runs out of enemies ? Steal a maid's uniform to sneak into a room and spike the soup but toplant a camera in a mistress's apartment, buy the building.Seriously ?What kind of genius does that ?What kind of genius writes that ? Having said that, still watchable thanks solely to the cast. They manage to create engaging characters. But plays more like a soap opera than a caper.Shame, because this had the makings of a great caper.Wish them well.Thank you.Degenerated into full blown soap with the occasional revenge tacked onas afterthought. Disposable characters waltz in and out adding nothingto main plot yet filling episodes.Stowe has grown. VanCamp has not. Mann is often the most watchablecharacter. |

Better than Dexter! This is 'Dynasty' or 'Dallas' for a new millennium. It follows a highlyimplausible plot which doesn't matter. The script, scenery and actorsare the strengths of this show. There isn't even a weak link. If youlike Dexter then you'll LOVE Revenge. I like Dexter but some of thesatellite characters are simply annoying. Not so here.Special kudos to Madeleine Stowe who is the bitch of the century! Whatmakes her especially interesting is that we can read the vulnerabilityand fragile social tightrope she walks on behind those beautiful icecold eyes! But it is Gabriel Mann and his phenomenal performance asNolan Ross that keeps me tuning in each week. How this character evengot written into the show is probably a miracle in itself but the showwouldn't be the same without it!Maybe the most compulsive US network drama I've ever seen. |

Best Show in 2011 - May Contain SpoilersI love this show! It brings modern day drama to The Count of MonteChristo. It is a shame they have to kill Michael Grayson as he bringson quite a presence with his good looks and character. However, Amandaneeds to move on without him in order to fulfill her revenge in itsentirety. Very good show.... a must see!I also hope that the show returns for the next season. VictoriaGrayson's character is brilliant! The selfish and sarcastic matriarchof the show and Nolan is very well acted by the cast member. Iunderstand that next season brings in court room and investigationdrama to the show and should be very interesting indeed! Kudos to the producers and writers. Good job! |

A Revengefully Good TimeWhat else can I say, this show is amazing. Revenge should be thestandard for all other TV shows to follow.Emily Thorn and her strong supporting cast are at the top of theirgames. Brilliant writing, and a deep dark mysterious story line willkeep you hooked. So many sub plots and twists and turns as the storyunravels it just keeps escalating. It's amazing to watch nearly everycharacter to be deeply developed into the plot line. You never knowwhat will happen next, and it's just pure bliss to watch. My favorite new TV show in a long time, and I can't wait to see EmilyThorn every Wednesday. I've developed a sick demented crush for herdevilish beauty. |

Finally! A show worth watching!I rarely watch any TV drama shows except law and order: SVU because Ifind most of them very boring. I don't remember seeing any commercialsor any episodes on television but I came across this on Hulu andimmediately became a big fan. I think the characters are all wellplayed especially Emily and they aren't cut and dry. The plot is veryengaging and interesting with some nice twists. And if you think thatthe series will be short because there aren't many characters to getrevenge on, I disagree because they have plenty of good material andnew characters are added. I really like revenge movies and it isrefreshing to see a show built on revenge and everything else thathappens from trying to get it. This has become my new favorite show. Ihighly recommend this show especially if you like revenge or spymovies. |

Revenge: Watch Out for the Woman on FireThere's no need to beat around the bush about ABC's Revenge. If you'relooking for a new TV show to watch this fall, then this should be oneof the top candidates. Revenge tells the story of Amanda, a young woman hell bent on bringingdown everyone in the Hamptons who took his father away from her whenshe was just a little girl. Now calling herself Emily, she picks themoff one by one, and will not rest until everyone gets what theydeserve.I like how this show is self-aware that revenge is something so messyit is hard to know what's right or wrong in the process. It puts aConfucius teaching at the start of the episode which goes like "Beforeyou embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves." Narration is alsoused, which helps develop the ominous mood in the air.Great shows come from good casting choices. Emily Van Camp is perfectas Emily. She blends seamlessly with the rich crowd and yet stands outwith her pretty face and dark intentions---the embodiment of innocenceand deception. Although her methods are questionable, she is obviouslythe protagonist of the show. After all, we have enough straight arrowson television so it is wonderful to finally have someone complex likeEmily. Madeleine Stowe plays her nemesis Victoria Grayson, also knownas the Queen of the Hamptons. As shown in the first episode, she is aforce to be reckoned with. With smiles as devious as they come, Emilywill have a hard time if she is to dethrone Victoria.Directed towards a young audience, the plot is very promising. A lotmore needs to be fleshed out, which is something viewers want in aproduction. I am hoping that the "villains" of the show get morecharacter development since we cannot have everything on black andwhite for a good story to exist. Given the premise, Emily can onlyexact revenge on a certain number of people before the show ends. Thismeans that unless the conspiracy thickens even further and we find outthat more are responsible for putting her father away, Revenge can onlylast for a short time (two seasons maybe, three seasons max) without itbeing overextended.Which shows are like it? Revenge reminds me of Dexter with itsmorally-challenged title character, except this is with more schemingand less brutal murders (well, at least for now). It definitely has atouch of Gossip Girl (with the Hamptons and all, and Connor Paolo beingit), but in this one, we know things are going to get ugly pretty fast, and it's not the oh-no-my-make-up-is-ruined kind of ugly. The firstscene brings me back to the pilot episode of Damages where they givethe audience a taste of the future without compromising suspense. Thisis a good tactic to shake things up. I just hope all questions raisedwill be answered in time. Revenge is a fresh take on the high society life. The mixture of deadlybetrayal and the elite lifestyle has got me looking forward to the restof the season. No matter how hairy things are going to get, one thingis for sure, and that is the objective of the show: revenge. Wouldn'tyou want to watch something that still holds mystery even though youknow perfectly well what you're getting yourself into? |

I just saw a first episode and it was fantastic!!!!!Truly great show! There is mystery, love story, money, angry evil lady, and a lot of good looking people. You can not help but think, whathappened, what is the big secret all those people are carrying. Thereare so many things going on but at the same time it is easy to followalong. You will love it. I can not see them doing more than one season, but hey you never know. This show is a mix between desperatehousewives, OC, Tween Peaks, Dexter, and Harper's Island. Can not waitto see more. It has this dark feel about it but at the same time it iswarm and makes you laugh at times. Also I think that the casting isexcellent: Emily VanCamp - diverse; Madeleine Stowe - chillingly evil, yet you can not help to admire and respect her, Connor Paolo - funnyand is going to be one of my favorite. Anyhow i hope this show doeswell. Watch it! |

Revenge - The Countess of Monte CristoThe plot of this series has similarities to the Count of Monte Cristostory. A young girl whose life was shattered by some people and nowafter many years she came back to live among them only to get revenge. This series has a much darker side then it shows and it slowlyprogresses to the story line. Emily Van Camp did a tremendous jobplaying the lead and during the pilot, she manages to show a glimpse ofher dark side for the episodes to come. Madeleine Stowe is typicallycold-hearted and evil, and suspects Emily from the start. The Mainstory line focuses on these two playing a game of cat and mouse witheach other, where other characters are there as well with their ownagendas. I hope this series maintain its level of darkness and twists... |

what an amazing show . the best that came out of Hollywood in the last ten years !!!!!!!!!!Being a fan of Madeline Stowe , the good roles she played in the 80sand 90s , and the fact that she was nominated for the golden globe forthis series are the reasons why i wanted to follow this show . revengeis a really fun thrilling ride . first i would like to mention that thecast have done a great job ,Henry Czerny and Emily van camp are veryconvincing . Ashton Holmes added more drama and flavor to the revengetheme and of course Stowe has definitely portrayed Victoria in thegreatest way possible . also the great setting of the show adds theelement of class .the story takes place in the Hampton's , very chicvery Dallas and falcon crest if you still remember these shows in the80s . the plot is deep and and unpredictable . it gets thicker andthicker leaving the viewer wanting more and inpatient to know what willhappen next . the director has achieved a great deal by making thisseries in a time when people got tired of the clichéd police thrillerswhere someone is killed and we wonder who did it . this show is muchmore meaningful than that, it touches deep matters . i recommendrevenge to anyone who is looking forward to watching a class act withan original plot and a great cast that will keep you insatiable . ireally hope Stowe will win for this one . |

Barely got through first episodeFirst episode, The show starts with a murder, which I have no idea whatpoint in time this occurs- and Im not sure that is the "revenge cause"because later on, Emily Thorne's father is apparently framed fortreason. So there's that. Im guessing her father was framed and thenthe first murder is her secret revenge? The schemes seem way too simple, the rich are way too cliché, spoiledrich people making fun of spoiled rich people, the main character isn'tbelievable as a revenge master mind, and the list of people who wrongedher seems too large for them to really earn the "hit list", I felt morebad for them then cheering for the main character.First episode just felt poorly organized and wasn't that interestingunless you are into the "Celebrity tabloid" garbage. |
