Very good (only 10 minutes before the end!)

I've been a Saw fan for years now. From watching the originalmasterpiece downright to the most recent, I can admit it was aroller-coaster ride...but with bumps along the way.For me the first 3 movies were good. Their twists were great and thestoryline plausible. The 4th one wasn't bad but the producers werealready relying heavily on traps stretching their Saw philosophy faraway from the original psychological thriller. The 5th was simply crap. The 6th gained back some of the lost ground but still the story wasfeeding on traps: a curse that sealed Saw's series fate. The 7th...wellnot much fresh stuff had been put on board making the movie usunintelligible as its predecessors. In short, the whole demented journey started smartly enough with 2persons trying to save each other to an idiotic carnage that was onlyallowed to be made if people died in barbaric traps. The storyline never resurfaced high above the ground making Saw 3Danother good excuse to make some more bucks. The truth is that thefinal chapter sucks and Bobby Degan's situation (an echo of Jeff fromSaw 3, Rigg from Saw 4 and William from Saw 6) is completely forced tomake the movie 90 minutes long. I thought that Chester from Linkin Parkwas going to have an impressive role, but I won't speak a lot aboutit...also the producers said that Chad Donella was going to leave amark in the movie. What were they exactly hinting at by that? Chad is agood actor but here, he's only role was to keep the police on the show.Frankly, I watched the movie with interest only when Jill, Hoffman andDr Gordon had their screen time.On a positive note, this threesome continued to work on their owncharacter as the scared and pitiful Jill, the killing machine Hoffman, and the mysterious Gordon. The climax, although it was predictable fromSaw 2, is what makes the film worth watching, and absolutely nothingelse. There was no big twist but it worked out nicely. It was the firsttime in my life to see a standing ovation in the theater after a horrormovie ended! However I won't say this is the end yet. Unfortunatelywe're left with a question when Hoffman blows up the house of horrors.Who saw the movie will understand. In the end next Halloweens will miss Saw. In my opinion it's betterthis way.

Expectations were not met

With Saw 3D supposedly being the last Saw installment my expectationswere high, but when I left the theater it left a bad taste in my mouth.I mean the traps were fun, but in this saw movie they decided to pushaside the side-story that we've been waiting for. I'm glad to finallysee Jill and Hoffman die, but now I feel there needs to be moreexplanation on the Jon/Gordan side-story. We all knew Gordan was in onit, but who were the other people in the pig masks helping him? I alsowish the movie would do something about the liars saying that they'vebeen in these imaginary traps. I would like to see a another Saw aslong as its better than this.

SAW -- should have stopped at #6

This review is from: Saw: The Final Chapter (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy) (Formerly Saw 3D) (Blu-ray) I thought this final Saw was somewhat of a let down. It just didn't seem to be as graphic as the previous ones were. Would l buy this last Saw again -- I am not sure.

Saw's grand finale

I would like to start this review with my feelings toward the 3D used.I see 3D as a dying gimmick that studios use to hike up prices formovie tickets while providing us with a headache. Saw 3D was the first3D film I've seen since a show in Disney World and I must say I likedit. I felt Saw 3D could've accomplished the same impact without the 3D.In this film we find that Bobby Dagen isn't all that he seems with avengeful Mark Hoffman hot on Jill Tuck's trail. We get to see familiarfaces and new faces. My personal favorite is Detective Gibson. Withoutany spoilers I give this film a 7. It is on par with Saw Vi in terms ofstory and on par with Saw II in terms of the twist. My main problemwith the film was the pacing. It felt to fast and rushed but than againit was less then 89minutes. All in all I'm proud to say this was agreat closure to the series and Jigsaw will always be remembered!

Just don't watch the movie please

Saw has been an awful franchise since Saw 4. The first three ones wereamazingly gory and creepy, but 4,5,6 and now 3d are just horrible. Theproblem is that its like watching "A Nightmare On Elm Street" withoutFreddy Krueger or watching "Resident Evil" without zombies. The mostirritating thing about this film is the Hoffman character. Hes justplain stupid and ridiculous and has always been a Jigsaw wannabe.Having Jigsaw in only a few scenes is very bad and irritating. Anotherthing bad about this movie is the awful acting, I mean is veryunnatural and boring and the dialogue is stupid. The best actor in thewhole series is Tobin Bell and is so bad he has so little screen time. The last thing bad is the 3d, that did not help the film in anyway andwasn't eye popping . The only good thing is that this is and hopefullythe last Saw. If there is another Saw movie on the way, I'm gonna freakout, seriously, because this movie was awful and it looked so fake. There are way better horror/thriller titles. Aaaa aleluya this is thelast Saw movie. My rate is 2/10

The Final Piece of Jigsaw's Puzzle!!!

Jigsaw definitely saved the best for last. A lot of loose ends are tiedup. All the pieces now fit together. The final chapter has everythingyou could ask for in a Saw film. It did seem a little rushed, but itwas very suspenseful. I loved all the new traps and twists. The onlyflaw is that Tobin Bell didn't have enough screen-time as Jigsaw, butyou may not notice because of all the new games being played. It wasgood to see Cary Elwes back as the infamous Dr. Gordon. Hoffman hasbecome more of a serial killer this time and tries to find Jill. Anauthor named Bobby Dagen has written a book about how he survived aJigsaw trap, but it's all a lie. When Bobby is really thrust into agame, he has sixty minutes to save his wife, or she will die. The Sawfranchise has had a good run. I'll miss seeing them at the theaterevery year. I highly recommend SAW VII 3D!!!

On first viewing I hated it, but on second viewing...

I've been a big Saw fan since I picked up the first two back in 2006upon the release of Saw III and I've been a devoted fan since. I'lladmit that my taste for horror, particularly torture porn, has becomesour over the past couple of years, but that's the genius of Saw forme. Unlike certain films such as Turistas or films along the lines ofHostel, Saw actually has a plot and they are very intelligentlywritten. Each film has provided the audience with a bizarre story and asurprising twist and it's all been leading up to this point: the finalchapter. This isn't like most of the previous sequels though. It doesn't exactlymostly rely on flashbacks this time and there isn't really much more totell. This is pretty much a straight continuation of the previoussequel Saw VI.My first viewing on Saw VII when it was first released was prettynegative. I'd enjoyed every Saw movie up to that point, even the poorlyreceived Saw V which I'd like to add I thought was one of the betterones. Most recently though I sat down with some friends who had yet tosee it and I decided to just sit down and finally give this movie amore proper chance in a more relaxed state of mind and by the end Iloved it.This is by far the most gruesome installment so far, and trust me whenI say a mouthful like that I ain't kidding. The sequels haveprogressively gotten gorier, and of course this kept up withappearances. It's a fast-paced and intense ride against time with themanhunt for the Jigsaw accomplice and one final game that this time hasno rules, shows no mercy and ends, literally ends in the bloodiestfashion that they could've pulled off, even by Saw standards.Saw VII I think had a lot to live up to and while it definitely reacheda campy highlight and even went a little overboard at some points, Iliked it. Not the most original, no it hasn't got the best acting onsome parts, not all, but some, and yes for god's sake the blood is alittle pink, but none of those reasons to me are even worthy as a putdown for this film. It's a fitting enough end to a long and gruelingfranchise that finally deserves an ending, and trust me this is onehell of a way to end a franchise.

Hellish psychosis made in studio

Sociopaths lack such resourceful design to execute their morbid desires. All machines and plots used to dismember, mutilate, and murder people sounded pathetically artificial products of mad moviemaker. There is no place on earth where such madness exists but here, in America. Getting the art, money, and technology in the hands of psychotic moviemakers created this absurd work of sadistic murderous display. How did all those poor actors laid their guards and participated in such mindless blood baths? One scene after the other, all you get is fascination with shuttering human bodies into fragments, most are naively plotted. A clean loop of intestine drops on the floor after sawing a body! If that was not foolish, then what was it? If one assumes a parallel universe where all corrupt folks and those with twisted minds are punished so gruesomely, there was no justification for going to such extremes of dismemberment to accomplish such untenable outcome. In the movie "Law Abiding Citizen", there was a cause and effect that explained why some people would be driven to revenge. Not here. There was never a climax or a triggering event. Hysteria, from start to end.

Sawed Off

The Saw franchise has been deteriorating since the first movie at arapid pace. The first film had Jigsaw putting two men into a situationwhere they would have to do something to survive. Each had anopportunity to survive and it was a test (a brutal one) to force thatperson to do something to change their way of life and move forward.Saw was not about guts and gore. Along came the usual Hollywood B.S.and Saw degraded into another hack-em/slash-em franchise. Everything isdesigned to show more ingenious ways to kill someone with a huge lackof storyline. The thing that bothers me the most is how innocents arenow being killed left and right. How one person has to save others orthey die and that other "victim" has no opportunity to save themselvesor an explanation why they are there without a way to redeemthemselves. The latest installment has an innocent wife being part ofthe butchery for no reason. The essence of the movie is gone and it isjust another teenage hack-me-up movie.

Cliff Hanger and Outcome Too Straightforward

I honestly got bored of the SAW franchise a long time ago. With movies like these, the movie industry wonders how come piracy has increased?Reason 1:The overall price to watch movies has increased. I use to be able to watch a movie at the theater for about $3.50-5.50...now with 3D it's like...what? $13-15?? Per person? The DVD of this is sold here for $19~ and the blue ray is $30?!Reason 2:Decline in movie quality. Remakes....remakes of remakes...drawing a movie or tv show out until it is literally boo-ed off and can no longer be milked.Reason 3:Higher availability of high quality pirated material.Saw: The Final Chapter, can be a good example that fits into reason 2. I admit, it's not a horrific sequal/finale (...no more please...) But movies that have 3D in them seem to be using 3D as a clutch, substituting good plot, acting, and general movie quality for cheap effects. The term "ain't how it use to be" applies somewhere here. My problem with this final is that it is now literally a movie for people that get a kick for watching other people suffer...and that's it. SPOILER ALERT!!SPOILER ALERT!!After the "victim" fails the second time and not being able to save the second person, I already got the impression that this movie has no other objective, but to thrill the viewers with more and more scenes of gore and torture. Usually there's a surviver or so that tags along and makes you feel "oh okay, maybe they can survive it!". This movie is too predictable.Let's see.Who here predicted that Sean Flanery aka Bobby (the main victim of the movie) was going to get captured and that he would be the main victim of the movie?Who here predicted that the cops, etc, that entered the 'torture' base where Bobby was being kept were being led into a trap and would die?Who here predicted after the second victim's death that this movie was not really about the possibility of survival, but a gore fest...one after another?Who here predicted that his wife would die in the end?Who here predicted that Jigsaw's wife (ex? forgot...) would die even while under police protection? If you were the ones that were able to predict those, then congrats, you have a brain or you're experience in watching enough movies to tell.If you weren't able to predict all that and still made a review on here...well...Anyway...gore and torture is fine with me (even though that's a sick thought altogether) but I would like a good movie to go along with that. Please do not make anymore SAW movie.SO TO THE MOVIE INDUSTRY, IF YOU WANT PIRACY TO STOP, STOP MAKING CRAPPY MOVIES AND LOWER THE MOVIE PRICES. BY RELEASING LOW QUALITY PRODUCTS, YOU ONLY HURT YOURSELVES IN THE END.

It is the best 'Saw' movie, it is the worst 'Saw' movie.

The Opening scene will blow you away, you will be on the edge of yourseat, you will love it, and you will hate it. You will feel more griefand sadness then you have ever before in a 'Saw' film, you will bedisheartened. The gore is amped up so much-if you thought that theprevious movies were barely watchable or the traps were as bad as theycould get, you haven't seen anything yet. You will feel so much. "SawVI" had the tag-line: "The Game Comes Full Circle". Yet that tag-lineis better suited for "Saw 3D", everything really comes together. Thisdefinitely is the best "Saw" movie, but it takes away so much that youcan't love everything about it. It IS a great ending to the franchise, and it does not fail at being a great final chapter. The 3D isexcellent and does not disappoint. The movie only let me down in onearea, I personally thought the gift of life was not given enough.

completely underrated

Saw VII/3D/The Final Chapter is an awesome ending to a sick andsatisfying series of what could be the best psychopath ever imagined.Saw was a good but surprisingly un-gory movie that introduced us to theawesome Jigsaw.Saw II was a fairly good return with some good traps but wasn't as goodas the first.Saw III left Saw II behind and really intensified the series, it was byfar the most disgusting and painful "saw" yet.Saw IV was another really good entry in the series that ranked with thethird but still didn't reach the first.Saw V ranks with the sixth as the worst in the series, though we didsee some awesome traps.Saw VI wasn't to good, it wasn't very gory or painful, and the trapsweren't anywhere near as cool as some of the others. So how was Saw the final chapter? it was AWESOME! It had some of thebest traps, it wasn't as disgusting as the third one but it was by farthe most painful "saw" movie. The acting was good, the effects wereawesome, the story tied everything together, I didn't see a thing thatI didn't like about SAW 3D: THE FINAL CHAPTER

Without Question, the Best of the SAW Series

The SAW Series has taken too much unfair criticism. It is, in myopinion, a superior franchise about relationships. Some want to compareit to the Halloween series, in which a spectre offs verious teens witha supernatural machete. But the actual plot is more similar to RobertRedford's debut film, Ordinary People, but with gore. Both are aboutyoung persons who've been traumatized. Also, there is the similaritybetween the impact of the down-to-earth psychologist in Ordinary withthat of the down-to-earth justice of "Jigsaw". In addition, Saw 3D isbeautifully photographed, from start to finish. Kevin Greutert is athis peak in capturing the small beauty of simple scenes alongside thebreathtaking wonder of the ramshackle interiors. My teenage son, who isnot given to being maudlin, left the film fairly choked up. He couldnot get over the eye to eye contact between the girl and her tormentor, and the unspoken feelings therein. He said he could not imagine anyoneseeing the film without tearing up a little. Kudos to Kevin Greutert! He is establishing himself as one of our finest filmmakers.

I feel a little betrayed.

Yes, I do feel betrayed by this latest SAW sequel but not for the reasons that everybody might think. We'll touch on that topic a little later in my review. For now, I want to talk about the over all aesthetics and my own personal opinions in regards to all of the SAW movies.First, let me start off by saying that I am indeed a fan of this series as a whole. In my opinion, it was perfect as just six films. You had the first three which make a "killer" trilogy. Then you had the "post Jigsaw" era, which became a trilogy within itself and (from what I thought) wrapped everything up nicely. (For those of you who haven't seen any of these movies, there may be spoilers in this review. Fair warning.) At the end of part six, Lieutenant Mark Hoffman was put into one of Jigsaw's earliest creations, the reverse bear trap. This was done by Jigsaw's wife (from my point of view) in order to put an end to what her husband started. It almost seemed like Jigsaw knew that a lot of his followers were still questionable, troubled people (Amanda Young and Mark Hoffman for example), so it seemed logical to me that he would have his wife tie up all loose ends after his death. He loved and cared for his wife, not to mention it was stated in one of the sequels that Jigsaw would "provide a way out for her" when everything was said and done. I won't spoil her fate in this movie but I will say it's an interesting turn of events. I'm rather indifferent about how things happened in this film because for me, the series had already come to an end.So after the sixth film, I was happy with the series over all. In my opinion, the ending of that movie was left up to interpretation (Hoffman was left wounded, bloody and screaming) and everything seemed to have come full circle. In a realistic society, Jigsaw's work (and his followers) would have been exposed to the authorities and public by this point. There wasn't a need to expand the story any further if you ask me. Maybe six films was stretching it, but at least they all flowed with one another. I know a lot of people weren't big fans of the series (it seemed like the latest SAW film was every Horror fans punching bag) but I always enjoyed them. Call me crazy but there was something to be said for all of these "main stream" Cult esque Slasher movies. At it's high point (arguably SAW III in my opinion) the series had reached a gory and sickening crescendo. It was a classic time period (the rebirth of main stream Horror, kinda' like in the early 80's) and I'll miss it. Sadly, I don't think I can say the same about SAW 3D (aka) THE FINAL CHAPTER.Right off the bat, I'm going to say this movie is a mixed bag. I really didn't have high expectations going into this (I was happy enough with six films) but in some ways, it's a little worse than I thought it would be. Not terrible but definitely a step down from the rest. I no longer think that SAW IV is the worst one in the series. On the whole, SAW 3D isn't a bad movie. Actually, the over all production is like a really decent and acceptable "direct to DVD" film. Which is also it's biggest problem. This is not a "made for DVD" Horror film. It's a "big budget" theater release that looks like it could have been one of the DIMENSION EXTREME movies. Now, there isn't anything wrong with "cheap" Horror like that (I love movies like FEAST, HATCHET and the "old school" TROMA films) but not when there was such consistency with the other SAW sequels. Had this movie been a "direct to DVD" release, I may have been a little more forgiving. My biggest gripe with SAW 3D is the over all look of the film. Everything is so bland and empty of color, it almost didn't seem like it was a SAW movie at first. All of the scenes have a flat and lifeless over tone, which makes for a pretty straight forward experience. The other sequels at least had a gritty, sun bleached look to them. They were perfect examples of modern day "grindhouse" if you think about it. SAW 3D on the other hand looks like it could have been an episode of MASTERS OF HORROR and that isn't something you want to see in a big budget movie. Top that off with stationary camera angles and what you have here is a pretty bland visual experience. Not all of the scenes are treated like a television show however. These moments are like a breath of fresh air in an other wise straight forward Horror movie. Maybe the fact that the movie was filmed in 3D has something to do with this. If that's the case then maybe 3D should just be left to movies like AVATAR and TRON : LEGACY. It just doesn't work with Horror. The biggest strong points of this movie are some of the plot elements, but it just makes you wish they would have used them in the fifth or sixth film. The good story just gets dashed by the execution. I'll cut to the chase. Another Jigsaw game has been started and it seems like the victims of his past traps are involved somehow. One of which happens to be Dr. Lawrence Gordon, survivor of the first movie. In particulary gory SAW fashion, it shows him in a flash back cauterizing his amputated foot on a hot steam pipe. (Talk about getting the "hot foot" huh'!?!) Sorry about that. Anyways, it would seem that he's been alive since the first movie and now he plays a significant role in this latest SAW sequel. Meanwhile, a sleazy guy named Bobby Dagen claims that he survived one of Jigsaw's traps (although we know better) and now he's getting massive media attention because of it. He's also a "self help" speaker who seems to be exploiting his patients, who also happen to Jigsaw survivors. Need less to say, this doesn't bode well for Jigsaw or his followers.I actually really like the idea of Lawrence Gordon (played by Cary Elwes) coming into the picture, but he wasn't used enough here. Bringing him back gave the over all movie a bolt of energy, yet his limited screen time hinders this aspect from going anywhere. Too bad really. Another thing I liked about this movie was the character of Bobby Dagen. He was a slime ball that you truly wanted to see get his just desserts. By having public exploit as one of the main plot points in this film, it brings a different kind of chemistry to the over all movie. It's inventive enough to make up 50% of the interest in this otherwise pointless sequal. Had the camera work been a little more interesting, I may have given this movie another star. Some people seem to be a little disappointed that Jigsaw wasn't in this movie very much. To those people, I would have to disagree. By limiting his screen time, it gave the character Mark Hoffman a little more room to breathe. He was no longer just working from inside Jigsaw's shadow. Besides, I always thought he was an interesting aspect to the SAW movies. Now, the title of my review says that I feel a little betrayed and that's true. Not because of the actual movie itself but for a totally different reason. I always knew (even before this movie came out in theaters and on DVD) that it wasn't going to meet my expectations. I'm feeling betrayed because the DVD release of the film only comes in the R rated version! That means if you want to see the extra scenes and gore, you have to buy the BLU RAY versions! Talk about unfair! Every other sequel I have for the SAW series is unrated but not this one. It doesn't make sense if you ask me. I'm sure there is some stupid, "behind the scenes" economic and financial reason that the producers did this but I really don't care! That's not my problem and I feel betrayed as a loyal fan. Thanks to the studio (or whoever) I have an incomplete version of the movie in my collection. Just so they can save a few bucks. Nice work guys. As a fan of the SAW series and my ever growing Horror DVD library, I feel a little betrayed. That's the equivalent of a smack in the face. It makes you realize that these Horror films are nothing but a financial game to the movie studios. I don't blame the director for this. With that being said, the gore in this film is actually pretty effective. From what I've seen in the R rated cut, it does push the limits of blood and gore on screen without making the missing scenes noticeable. Only during a few moments did I realize that something was missing or edited slightly. Still, it does get away with a lot if you know anything about the history of Slasher movies and the MPAA. Heck, back in the 1980's FRIDAY THE 13TH sequels would be so heavily edited that some of the death sequences wouldn't even make sense! That isn't the case today or with SAW 3D. R rated cut or not, it's still a very gruesome film! One of the best death scenes involves a car and four people dying almost all at once! You just have to see the scene to understand it. Another death trap involves a fish hook! Enough said! Gore Hounds, without a doubt, check it out!In the end what you're left with is a mixed bag. Some parts of this movie are good (the plot elements and gore) but other moments (like some of the new police detectives and the camera angles used) leave something to be desired. If you already hated this series since the first sequel, this seventh one won't do anything to change your mind. To those of you, I have to wonder why you're even on the product page for a SAW movie in the first place? If you've been a fan of the series as a whole like myself, you'll want to check it out to see what happens, just don't expect much. This movie feels more like a side note in an otherwise successful and long running Slasher series. It's a shame really. They should have just left it as six movies. On an end note, I hope the directors of these films move on to other Horror projects in the future. It will be nice to look for their personal styles used in other Slasher movies! It's nice to see the SAW series come to a bloody conclusion (even if it should have ended with part six) but I want to see these directors take on different topics in the world of Horror. Maybe a zombie film or something with a grotesque monster in it like HELLRAISER or JEEPERS CREEPERS.I don't know, thats just my two cents. To the fans, I hope I've been helpful.Over and out.

Not the best, but definitely has the closure you want.

Okay, so before you read the rest of this, take a look at this list andsee if your preferences match mine:Saw 1 - The BEST Saw film. Most will agree, and for good reason. Saw 2- An incredible Saw film. Brilliant twist and scary. Saw 3 - Very gory, and the plot twist was great. Fell flat in some places. Saw 4 - Trapsstart to make less sense but still a good, satisfying Saw film. Saw 5 -Worst in the series by far. Weakest plot, twist and just mindless gore.Ending was kinda cool tho. Saw 6 - Great recovery, spine chilling, awesome twist, mega gory. On par with Saw 2 IMO.So what to say about Saw 7? If you agree with me on my opinions of theprevious films then here is my genuine opinion - Saw 7 was a littledisappointing. I think the reason for this was that I expected way toomuch, hoping that this series would end with the MOST AMAZING TWIST andincredible plot lines, all questions answered, viewers immenselysatisfied with the series. With a blank opinion on the film walking into the cinema people woulddefinitely get that satisfaction. Gore-lovers would ADORE this film, especially those appreciating the retro-80s pink/red blood usage thatthis film has adopted. Saying that, this film doesn't deliver theabsolute tension that 6 did with the traps (the breathing apparatuswith the smoking guy, am I right?) but some did make me recoil inhorror as to what was going to happen to these poor people (theracist's girlfriend under the car) and generally the film kept me on myseat. SPOILER SENTENCE - one thing that really impressed me was thatthey FINALLY showed the reverse-bear trap contraption actually rippingsomeone's face open. Savage and immense. In terms of plot and relevance of these traps to the individual were alittle questionable. They were just imaginative ways of killing peoplebasically, as opposed to a Se7en-style ironic punishment, like a dudewho cuts himself for attention is put in a razor-wire maze and has tocut himself badly to stay alive sort of thing. Now it's more about theperson's relevance to the main character like in saw 6. Acting fromsome people were terrible, others were pretty good. Chester Benningtonfrom Linkin Park surprised me.The ending really surprised me, in more ways than one. It was -sorta-well thought out, and the few revealing moments in previous filmsreally added up. I personally thought Dr. Gordon should have devisedthe whole Jigsaw thing and put John Kramer up to everything so thatGordon fixes his cancer. That would have added irony to the first filmas well, but hey I guess I'm not in the position to tell people how todo their job.To summarise, definitely see it. It's definitely good closure. Theseries resolves very well, and ties up all the loose ends as much as itneeded to. Don't expect the climax to leave you as jaw-dropped as someof the other twists in the series, but the series has been amazing towatch through my late-teen years, and this finishes off very nicely.

Very Bland Movie to "End" the series

I'm a big fan of the first three Saw films but they could have really stopped at the third one, because of the rest of the franchise heavily relied on flashbacks so that Tobin Bell could be a part of all the films. So for four films straight we have to get the backstory of Jigsaw and tie up any loose ends from the six previous films. If they knew they were going to use Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith for these films, then should have kept them alive and not kill them off so early.Saw VII was bad, not the worst in the franchise but very bad nonetheless and opens up the possibility of an 8th film if they so decide to do so. That's why End is in quotation marks in my title. The first trap in the film made no sense as they aren't connected to anything or anyone in this film and these traps are mostly done in private areas and never explained why this one is made public for everyone to see who was walking by that day. The trap just didn't make sense. The first trap is basically for the added gore. Then they have this meeting of something of all the Jigsaw survivors and this one lady who talks about her trap, but we never seen her trap in previous films, that trap was there to be added. Also this film made horrible mistakes in killing off all the main characters by the fourth film and we're getting all these new characters like we're suppose to care for them knowing they are going to die anyway. They killed off important characters like Det. Kerry who was the lead detective early on, so she should have made it all the way to the last film. This one we have Sean Patrick Flanery playing some author, who lied about being a part of Jigsaw's games now him along with his entourage and wife have to suffer because of it. Meanwhile Jill is trying to keep herself from being caught by Hoffman as the results from Saw VI. This plot and sub plot is very weak because in the previous films the subjects that Jigsaw chose were being tested. SPF's character was just being tested for being a liar.It just seemed to me that Betsy Russell and Costas Mandylor wasn't too thrilled on doing this film because they gave very wooden performances as well as Chad Donnella as he was stiff in his scenes as they were the leading actors in this movie. S. Patrick Flanery must have had some botox injected in his face because his facial expressions didn't change at all. Cary Elwes comes back but in total he's in the film for a whole 7 minutes, as he appears sporadically in the film and he couldn't do much to save it. If the leading actors aren't giving good performances then we can only fear what the supporting actors are bringing to the table which isn't much as they are assigned to be obnoxious characters and their main objectives is to just cuss and scream, so we could care less if they got their guts ripped out. Of course the Saw franchise will never be recognized for it's acting abilities which is why no big name actors were apart of it except for Danny Glover in the 1st film but his movie roles recently have been questionable. They could have done better to end the franchise then what they put out. Just because you had Saw films come out every year doesn't mean rush through the last one. To date Saw III was the highest grossing film for the Saw franchise and it should have told the writers and whatnot after the rest didn't rack up as much mone , that they should have concentrated and really thought out the last film. Should have written it in a way that would have made viewers wanting more but can't, now it's don't want anymore sequels.

Great Final Chapter Movie

This review is from: Saw: The Final Chapter (DVD) This final installment does well in the horror and psy thriller department a provided a detailed overall conclusion and summation of the previous movies. It ends where it all begin as they say it came full circle. The traps and the special effects continue to be creative as they have always been, but does not provide a making off or how the traps came about or work as you would see in the last 6 movies. This is needs to be part of the SAW movie series collection.

Dull...

Oh my...! This was pretty boring I have to say. Please no more ofthese. The cast is pointless and talentless, really. As for the ending, they went for the Awww factor, but it just doesn't cut it. This shouldnever have seen the light of the day. For all our sake. It's only gory, there is no thickness to the story. By the end nobodycares about what happens to them. You just want it to end. They call itthe last chapter, let's hope it is.I would'NT understand if they try to do something else out of this.Seven years later and we get this. A complete waste of time. Non sense!I won't miss it, for sure!
