Die Hard meets Barb Wire

Imagine that you put Barb Wire in a skyscraper, after the Die Hard model,add incredibly stupid dialog, and some free swinging 48" (or however bigAnna Nicole Smith's mammaries are) appendages. Then you have more or lessthis movie.If you are a man, the only thing that will hold your attention are thescenes where Anna Nicole Smith shows off her transplants.You might want to watch the film if you are masochistic or have nothingbetter to do (like watching paint dry?).The plot is: Tall high rise is taken over by terrorists, this buildinghavea brand new state of the art electronic security system, that allows youtomonitor and control the building from 1 central location.The bad guys claim to be a international terrorist group in order to avoiddetection of their real motive. However there is a fly in the ointment inthat there are - in this case - two good guys loose in the building tryingto spoke their plans.The action consists of crawling through air vents, setting fires in ordertocall the fire department, picking off the terrorists one by one, ending inafight where the leader gets thrown off the roof, to crash to his death 86floors below. Other terrorists are also thrown out the windows to land onpolice cars......Sound familiar ??????The primary good guy is Anna Nicole Smith, proudly showing off her mammarydevelopment (transplant???) at various times, probably to keep theattentionof the the few guys watching the movie.Please do yourself a favor - don't see this movie if you have anychoice.

What was everyone expecting from this exactly?

What the hell was everyone expecting form this film? You weren't reallyexpecting Anna Nicole Smith to be capable of anything even close to"real" acting were you? If you were then you need to have your headexamined. She was obviously chosen for her looks and nothing else, andshe certainly dosen't disappoint in that department as she gets 2 verynice sex scenes(one of which is in a flashback that's hilariously outof place) her acting is about as wooden as you can get with quitepossibly the most atrocious Texan accent i've ever heard, but it'sstill hilarious to watch Smith read her lines off a cue cardmonotonously. The rest of the actors are pretty mediocre andforgettable, aside from Charles Huber who is pretty entertaining asFairfax, who loves quoting Shakespeare all the time. This film doesdecent enough in the action department as the opening shootout ispretty well done, and plenty of people get shot once the film shiftsinto Die Hard mode though the final confrontation is very disappointingand anti-climatic.Other annoyances are the fact that we never learn what the briefcasedoes and the obligatory "kid in peril" scenario. Your enjoyment of thefilm depends on how you look at it, as a Die Hard rip-off it's prettyaverage as it dosen't do anything to interesting with the scenarioapart from the advanced building technology which isn't used much. As aPM entertainment film it ranks near the bottom of as it's a far cryfrom such immensely entertaining films like Last Man Standing, Rage,Executive Target and several other PM films. But overall it's a decenttimewaster if you can get it ultra cheap like I did, it was only $2.00on Borders Marketplace and I bought it along with 31 other action filmswhich were all about the same price so it was a pretty good deal, allin all i'd say a 6 out of 10 is a pretty good rating for this film.

Wow - this movie made me laugh!!

I read the TV guide description of this movie - Anna Nicole Smithportrays a Los Angeles helicopter pilot(!) - and just had to watch ittonight. Anna's delivery of her first few lines (ok, most of her lines,but especially the first few) in this movie had me in stitches!! Wow. Ihaven't laughed this hard since watching her reality show on 'E' acouple of years ago. Where'd she learn to act anyway? Did she everlearn to act? The movie itself isn't half bad, and if you are an ANS fan, then youshould enjoy this movie even more. However, I do think that herperformance brought it down. I couldn't take her seriously for amoment. Had this movie been shown in theaters, she would have certainlybeen nominated for another Razzie!

American Entertainment

Skyscraper is an incredibly bad movie. Maybe whoever wrote it doesn'tactually speak English--that would explain why it sounds so strange andso simplistic at the same time.It's about a helicopter pilot, played by Anna Nicole, who happens toget trapped in a building with some terrorists. She fights to stoptheir evil plan for world domination. Yes, world domination. It wouldmake slightly more sense if it were all taking place in an old G.I. Joecartoon, but apparently this was made for adults.Yet, despite how ridiculous it all is, I found this movie entertaining.Not enough to own, or to even watch again unless I was showing it tosomeone who was seeing it for the first time. But as a craptastic timecapsule of mid-90's ineptitude, it was campy fun.

This film is no Oscar winner

This film has some of the worst acting I have ever seen, though I foundit amusing just listening to anna nicole smith. She should do comedyand not action, Like in Naked gun.Is it just me or are all the male actors just pumped up on steroids andare like robots.The only good thing about the film is anna nicole smith flashing herbody around, that she does so often. I recommend any guy that wants tosee anna nicole smith strip, that they should download the clips fromthe internet and not buy it on DVD, unless you can pick it up for 50pence.

A laugh riot

This movie is hysterically funny. Anna Nicole Smith has about as muchacting ability as a wooden rolling pin and her breasts get second and thirdbilling but hey, it's all in good fun. There is no plot here and theactionscenes are completely ludicrous, but I found myself giggling throughout themovie. I wouldn't recommend paying to rent it but if you're bored and itcomes on Cinemax give it a try. It might make a good double feature withanother movie I've reviewed on IMDb, DEMOLITION UNIVERSITY. They're bothtotally inane and filled with unintentionally hilariousdialog.

Not DIE HARD, just DIE ALREADY!

In the bad department, this film doesn't measure up to the classicslike "Plan 9 From Outer Space", but it tries very hard. Security GuardDudley Wright is the best thing about this movie, but his TimKazarinski (Tim, if I spelled that wrong, I'm sorry) impression sealsthe deal.If you really want to ogle Anna Nicole Smith's nude bod, better to digup an old Playboy. She's really not shown that often. Three scenes onlyone totally nude.On a scale of 1-10 for believability, I'd have to go into the negativenumbers, but it does give plenty of laughs if you're willing to suspendany and all credibility.I sincerely feel very bad for the actual GOOD actors in this (there AREsome), but I'm sure they didn't mind the extra job to fill in timebetween honest work.

Exploitation classic of the 90s direct-to-video era

"It's like DIE HARD in a skyscraper!" So the legend goes about how thiswas described by lead Anna Nicole Smith. The creative forces behind TOTHE LIMIT (PM Entertainment, director Raymond Martino, Smith, and herbreasts) reunite to deliver this completely brainless, yet surprisinglymesmerizing action picture.Carrie Wink (Smith) is a helicopter pilot with her head high in theclouds. She just happens to to land on a skyscraper that is underterrorist control. Coming into contact with a top secret super weapon,Carrie becomes the target of a ruthless but well dressed group ofbaddies led by a Pele look-a-like. With her cop beau aiding andabetting, she sets out to spoil the terrorists plans and, hopefully,take another long shower before the end credits.This is really a bad movie fan's wet dream. Action scenes rip off thegreats of the time period (CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER, DIE HARD WITH AVENGEANCE) and, as always, PM packs the explosions with all the punchof a gas tanker full of nitroglycerin being driven by an angry WilliamFriedkin. Couple these explosions with Smith's frequent nudity andterrible acting to make an intoxicating mix appear. Let's not forgetthis priceless dialog exchange as Smith thwarts a rapist's attempts:Villain: "You f%#king whore!"Smith: "You wanna f%#k me? Villain: "F%#k you!" Smith: "F%#k this!"She then shoots him and he falls out a window to the ground 10 floorsbelow. Rob Zombie can only dream of writing such an exchange. Smithproved she had the acting talent of, well, a Playboy Playmate. Her sonDaniel even appears as a hostage who becomes Carrie's surrogate son.*cringe* PM producer Joseph Merhi ended up exploiting Smith even morewhen he was a producer on the THE ANNA NICOLE SMITH STORY (2007), acheapie whipped up quickly after her untimely death.

Good eye candy, lousy movie

I will give Anna Nicole credit. In this movie, she shows that biggerwomencan be beautiful, silicon or not. The shower scene is gorgeous. Ofcourse,I haven't bothered to mention other important features of the movie likeitsplot, acting or direction. It's a ripoff of Die Hard and that's all I canremember. In fact, it's all you'll really need to remember, because thenonessential scenes (aka any gratuitous nudity) are the only good thingsabout this movie. Be prepared to do lots of fast-forwarding.

Way back before she resembled Rossanne

Back before she became a grotesque charactature of himself, AnnaNichole Smith was hot in a trailer park trash, heavily siliconed,slutty kind of way. Skyscraper was the second of two films thatattempted to exploit that dubious quality to maximum potential. Surethere's a minuscule threadbare 'plot' involving terrorists. But that'sjust the flimsiest excuse to string together some SOFT soft-core scenes(whic are way to few ad far between) that lets Anna expose her two'real' and only talents (yes the irony of using that word while talkingof those tits is not lost on me) However if you watch this movie, I'mpretty sure you know what to expect: Horrible acting, awful fightscenes, lame humor, and Anna's breasts. And nothing I can say willlikely dissuade you from seeing it. Just know that the film is prettydamn dire and the other movie of hers "To The Limit" is the 'superor'film (i use the term quite loosely of course) My Grade: F Where i saw it: Starz Edge

An Insult to the Cast and Crew Behind Die Hard

I was so disgusted at the end of this egregious train wreck of a film,I write this review to accomplish two tasks: vent my frustration at thetime & money I wasted; warn those of you who haven't seen it yet beforeyou plunge into the pool with no water. I write this assuming you haveseen "Die Hard".First, apart from the gratuitous scenes of sex and nudity, the crewhere attempted to duplicate every scene from "Die Hard". The way theywere done was either absurd, ridiculous, or just stupid.Second…the acting! Much has been said about Smith's atrocious acting(if you could call it acting at all). However, all of the actors werelousy. Phony European accents. Male models trying to masquerade asterrorists. The alleged 'criminal mastermind' quoting Shakespeare, in apathetic attempt to appear sophisticated. Poor delivery of lines. Plainunlikable characters in general. etc.Third, the way this "takeover" was carried out seemed implausible. Ifyou bother to watch this mess, consider how 'believable' it was in "DieHard", and how 'unbelievable' it is in this junk. Shootouts Fourth,clichés…so many clichés. If you bother to watch them, they will becomeextremely obvious. Especially the concept of the 'double cross'.Fifth…continuity. I guess with a movie with no budget, things likecontinuity will go by the waste side.Finally… the gratuitous sex and nudity. With a low-budget,direct-to-video piece of swine like this with Anna Nicole, this elementhad to exist, even though the scenes did not improve the so-calledstory. This had to be done obviously to captivate the men. It didn'twork for me.The cast and crew behind the original "Die Hard" should be appalled atthis. I found this movie an utter insult to the cast and crew that madethe original DH so great. This movie should have never been made. Itshould be burnt.

At first glance, you might think this movie would be pretty cool to watch,it's not, in fact it is pretty damned awful, I can't believe that I paid$3.95 to see it on a certain satellite network (I won't name names, but it'sone of the PRIME satellite networks, & it uses a STAR for a logo). If youever see this movie in your local TV listings, skip it with a vengeance &find something else cool to watch.

This DVD is lacking in a big way.

I have always been a fan of Anna Nicole Smith but I have to admit that these two movies are awful. The only reason why I like them is because I love cheesy movies. If you don't like Anna or cheesy flicks, then don't bother with these. Let's see, now that we got that out of the way, what about the DVD itself? It has the feeling of a fly-by-night company. The DVD packaging is flimsy. There's no booklet or cover sheet inside. It's only one DVD, with one movie on each side, but the DVD itself isn't marked so that you can't even figure out which movie you're going to watch until you put it in. Extra features? Absolutely none. The only options available is 'play' and scene selection (8 chapters to choose from). The only good deal out of this is that you get two movies relatively cheap. Unfortunately, if you're not a fan of Anna, you're going to be very disappointed.

Anna Nicole Smith does Die Hard. Not exactly.

Anna Nicole Smith gives a performance that comparatively makes JayneMansfield an Oscar winner. A disgusting rip off of Die Hard, includingcrawling through air ducts. While the plot wasn't remotely intended to takethe viewer on an emotional roller coaster ride, Ms. Smith's only emotionseems to consist of whining. It is obvious she just read many lines fromcue cards. The most telling sign of the enthusiasm of this cast wasexhibited by the hostages, who when released, just sort of meander out ofthe building. More energy and enthusiasm is shown by most people when beingseated in a dentist's chair.The whole cast would have been better off if an earthquake collapsed thebuilding on them. The attempted rescue would have been more intriguing.The nude scenes were apparently just to exhibit her unnatural endowment. Ifound viewing her mammaries more humorous than erotic. Anna Nicole Smithstrikes me as a rather pitiable creature of silicon.I rented the movie for 50 cents locally. What a waste.

Sky Scrap Pile - Colossal Waste of Film

The gratuitous scenes of Anna Nicole exposing her freakish breasts and overweight body ought to keep most of the wankers watching this pile of crap, but better acting and action scenes can be found watching Saturday morning episodes of Power Rangers.
