Fairly enjoyable, but not nearly as fun as it could have beenAfter a rather lengthy dual prologue sequence, we jump into the presentlife of physics nerd Dave (Jay Baruchel), who was chosen years later tobe the wizard to save humankind. He seems to have trying blocking outhis encounter with good sorcerer Balthazar (Nicolas Cage) and theincreasingly evil sorcerer Horvath (Alfred Molina). But when both showback up in his life, and the fate of the world lies in the balance,Dave starts to come around to the idea of training with Balthazar to bethe wizard he is prophesized to become.I only saw it for the first time a few months ago, but I greatlyenjoyed the first National Treasure film. It was a great mix ofadventure, comedy and fun (despite being a lightly veiled rip-off ofThe Da Vinci Code). So seeing Cage headlining a film directed by JonTurteltaub automatically intrigued me (the title reference to myfavourite scene in Fantasia also helped). But anyone coming to thisfilm searching for National Treasure 3 are better off waiting for thatfilm to come out in the next few years. It is not that The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a bad film, but it is notparticularly great either. The opening prologue, first taking place inthe 700s before zipping to 2000, takes up a good twenty minutes of thefilm, and just may be one of the most convoluted explanations I haveever seen. There is an inherent simplicity to it, but the voice-overdialogue and the actions of the main players make it a whole lot morecomplicated than it needs to be. And this notion hangs over the rest ofthe movie, because if you did not quite understand it then, the filmnever really stops to go over it again (unless you count "Person wantsto destroy the world, and you are the only hope" as explanationenough). This explanation and overly complicated set-up is completelymissing from any trailer for the film, suggesting that even themarketing team felt it was silly and unneeded. But once the film does get going, it actually is not all that bad. Suresome of the dialogue is terrible (one wasted punchline involving a StarWars reference feels all too easy and lame), but there are quite a fewgreat quips coming from Cage and Baruchel. The storyline suffers fromthe overly complicated set-up, but it becomes a lot more natural andmildly enjoyable halfway through. The majority of the film feels likeit belongs in the same "fun" genre as National Treasure and Pirates ofthe Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (both films ruined bysubpar sequels), but does not have the same heart or genuine laughs. But this small amount of good is betrayed by an awfully abrupt ending, and sometimes horrendous editing. In more than one scene, the dialoguedid not match the actor's lips, and an entirely epic car chase sequenceis almost ruined by a rather awful and incredibly obvious continuityerror. It just feels sloppy, and were easy mistakes that could havebeen fixed in post production. This is a very expensive tailor-madeblockbuster, even if the box office receipts do not suggest it. Thereis no reason why corners like these should be cut, and even less of areason for these errors to exist in the first place. The use of popmusic in some cases, as opposed to Trevor Rabin's score is equallydisappointing, but more of an aside than anything.Acting wise, Cage steals the show. He is not as over-the-top as he wasin Kick-Ass, or as dementedly off-the-rails as he was in BadLiuetenant: Port of Call New Orleans, but he still manages to deliver agreat performance here. He does not seem to know when he wants to beserious or wants to ham it up, but it works for his unorthodoxsorcerer. At any given moment, it looks like Cage is just having ablast working on the film. He gets saddled with a third act additionalmotivational trait that again, could have been chopped right out, buthe makes it work and he makes the character all the more stronger forit. Even with the fantastical elements at play in the film, andspecifically with his character, Cage is the single most believablething in the film.Baruchel, while not quite at a point in his career where he canlegitimately carry a movie (voice acting notwithstanding), is fairlyenjoyable as Dave. You can visibly see he is having trouble working offof material from Cage, and you can tell both actors lack the chemistryneeded for these roles. But where he lacks in his near leading manstatus and in his romantic subplot (involving a fairly well doneperformance by Teresa Palmer), he succeeds greatly in comic timing andlaughs. He is making the best of what he can with the role, and he doesa fairly good job at giving the audience a character they can identifywith. He just needs to continue to thrive and diversify as an actor tomake a role like this work better in the future. The absolutely stunning Monica Belluci goes criminally underused as afellow sorcereress, as does Toby Kebbell as Horvath's assistant andOmar Benson Miller as Dave's friend. Molina does a fairly adequate jobas the main villain, but he lacks the intensity and drive that made histurn as Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2 so memorable. Here he just seemstoo static, and does not appear to be having fun at all.The Sorcerer's Apprentice is not a terrible film, but it is not as badas the critics say it is. Sure, it is not quite as fun or good as itcould have been, but it still makes for a fairly enjoyable throwaway.6/10.(An edited version of this review also appeared onhttp://www.geekspeakmagazine.com). |

Slices of a Utopian timeA splendid pledge about the ambiguity of sin. Lesson about fundamentalvalues and the nimbus of books. About illusions and chimeric truth, about search and secrets like means of life. And, very important, aboutthe price of dreams.A beautiful film like result light and subtle acting. A horror orthriller, a exploration of mystery and magical story, another Jacobwrestling with same Angel.Story of a student who discovers a special world with master andservants, a impressive library and restless whispers, an intangiblecorpse and a malefic shadow.Blak magic and subtle art of Peracelcis. And slices of seductiveUtopian time with powerful flavor. |

Fun movie if you enjoy suspending disbelief for a couple of hours and enjoying the "magic" in a Disney Film. When you make a fictional movie you can create what you want, and makeup all the rules you want to allow everything be plausible. And that iswhat this movie does. The beginning covers everything, and it is a bitcomplex, too complex to try to explain easily here. Suffice to say, itbegins in the 8th century England, in the time of Merlin and hisapprentices. But one of them becomes rogue, wants to raise all the deadall over the world to destroy the world as we know it, and isimprisoned in a set of nesting containers. One of the "rules" in this story is that Merlin's surviving apprenticesdon't age until the next "Prime Merlinian" is found and becomes theable Merlin successor who can defeat the evil and save the world.Nicolas Cage is the good Merlin apprentice, Balthazar Blake. In asequence we see the time period change symbolically through thecenturies, trying to find the Prime Merlinian, up to modern day, inManhattan. There Balthazar finally finds a boy, 20-year-old NYU Physics student,Jay Baruchel as the nerdy Dave. In his backstory as a 10-year-old wesee his first encounter with the ring, and also a cute blond girl hewants to be his girlfriend. She resurfaces in class at NYU, prettyTeresa Palmer as Becky Barnes. The chief nemesis is the always good Alfred Molina as Maxim Horvath. There are others but I will leave it at that.We enjoyed the fantasy. Being a PG movie it is clean and tame, which weenjoy. Sometimes the fighting among the wizards got a bit overdone, formy liking, but overall a good movie. Plus the guy gets the girl in theend. |

Bad improvementsThis review is from: The Sorcerer's Apprentice (Three-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo+Digital Copy) (Blu-ray) We have not gotten any feed back from Disney or from Samsung why this move will not play in Blue-ray format. We have a new player and it will not play with the "new" programing updates and disk formatting. People and techs have been good in helping. We thought it was the disk and had it replaced but the "new" formatting will not allow playing. We carried it to a store and tried it in several other Blue-Ray players and got the same negative playing response. I am sure that many people are aware of this and they are working hard to fix it..hahaha. We have purchased several other BD movies from others and gotten the same actions so it is not totally related to Amazon and Samsung... |

Average on most accountsIts nothing special. Its a premise, that has been done over and over. The usual storyline, the usual characters, its just a big 100+ minutes of mediocrity. While i have to admit, that the Mage setting (and i don't see harrypotter as mage. He flies on a broom, end of argument) is something thathasn't been don't a million times before, its still sad to see, thatsomething new was butchered down to... and i will say it again...something mediocre. But all in all... i'm not sad about those about 110 minutes of my life.It was at least somewhat enjoyable. And while i will not supportblandness, such as... well... most of this entire movie, it does havesome nice ideas, like the usage of the spells on modern day objects. So while i was going to give this movie only 4 points, i'm just suckedinto finally seeing a, at least, not atrocious movie about mages. Don'texpect anything new beyond mages.Long story short: Not too bad, nothing new, mildly enjoyable, hadexpected more but then again, i should give up on that. Thanks Hollywood |

4 for kids, 3 for adultsThis movie isn't as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be. Cage has a lot of haters, and in some roles he is terrible. In this film he is not bad. HIs character is a tiny bit eccentric, but not too much. Plus his wig in the film is not as hideous as the piece he wore in Bangkok Dangerous. The story is mostly great magic effects which are tailor made for younger viewers. There is no real depth to the story or characters, but all of the actors are decent and give it a good go. I saw The Last Airbender and this movie in the same week, and this movie is like Citizen Kane compared to Airbender. Fun diversion for the kids. |

This film is definitely worth a Redbox rental...it is a good choice for family night. There are high speed chases and superb graphics that can be a little frightening and intense for young children under 5.I love Nicholas Cage and Alfred Molina...they can do no wrong for me. I didn't care for the over the top goofiness of the Jay Baruchel's character. That character could have delivered more to the overall story but that can be blamed on the writing. It felt a little like the money was focused on the CGI action sequences than on the overall plot line/dialog and character development. For that reason I will not be adding it to my movie collection. But it was a fun rental for staying in with the family on a cold New England evening. |

Cliched? Worthwhile? Yes and YesThis review is from: The Sorcerer's Apprentice (DVD) I have to say I understand why people rate this movie lower. The storyline is cliched, there are its corny moments, and sometimes you just have to suspend your belief. But is it bad? No, not at all.First off, I'm not really a Nicolas Cage fan. A fan of fantasy and magic yes, which is the reason I saw the movie to begin with. He plays his part well, looks like he is having fun, and that to me is pretty important. He's played better sure from Leaving Las Vegas to Adaptation. But you have to remember, this is a movie made to be fun. I don't think the creators had any qualms this wouldn't be going to the Oscars, and that is okay. Comparison's to Harry Potter? I've seen it out there. Although let's get honest here, the heroes' journey is so common that people will compare anything to Harry Potter and Star Wars these days. How about the fact that Homer's The Odyssey is a hero's journey too. So, compare if you will although no wands in this movie. Filmed on American soil too. Jay Baruchel? I've read all the reviews where people hate his voice. It's nasally yes, and probably takes some getting used too but you really shouldn't decline a movie because of one person's voice. He can't really help it, and he plays his role perfectly (although I really do wish Jay will stop getting typecasted). Science--I think in a time when most kids don't like history or science I find that they put science into a cool mindset. Sure, the Tesla Coils can't really perform music and all that. However, putting a physics student as a hero? That's a win, it shows that intelligence should be valued. For adults? There are a few refrences kids won't get. The "Depeche Mode" joke seeing as most kids probably won't have a clue to who the band is. The Star Wars quote coming from the original trilogy unless a kid has seen it. Arthurian legend? Well skewed mostly because they have Merlin and Morgana...and nothing else there. I also found there are some nuances in this movie that kid's won't pick up. Small, and often unnoticed but still keep the movie going. No doubt the special effects are top notch, not that I thought they wouldn't but I don't like movies to be all about that.I think that this is a movie that has a lot of potential but tried to put too much into it at the same time. However, the die hard hopeless romantic that I am can't get over the fact of the serious determination for one to be without the love of their life for over a thousand years. I won't lie that the female roles aren't as strong as I would like them to be, at the same time they were rushing things as well...if they could have a sequel (unlikely) it would be something to strengthen there. So should you watch it? If you want something totally original. No you shouldn't so don't get your hopes up. If you want something fun and a different take on magic, then I say yes. Besides really the flying steel eagle that's pretty cool. |

ughh...horrible...i was really expecting this movie to be something special.. Disney andall that.. but no.without nicolas cage this movie wouldn't deserve 5 min of watching..and still he was holding back the entire movie, like someone forbid himto act and just wanted him to say those lines of text in front of thecamera and be gone.there's no passion,no heart, just empty lines of text. and our primemerlinian? (do i really have to say how stupid that sounds? that"title" alone ruins the whole story from the start.)jay baruchel plays a total idiot. maybe he wasn't acting either? whydidn't they place the whole story in the past? around that 700 and someAD? such a good idea for a story ruined with this modern day stupidity.nothing is explained properly in the movie, intro was the mostinteresting part and lasted only for a few minutes, there was no sceneto display the love between veronica and balthazar and later on theysuddenly can't be apart?i could go on.. becky..that drake guy..horvath.. they weren't funny.any of them. just boring.all of these new movies aspire to be realistic.. and it's boring.HELLO! we already live in reality! why the hell would you want to seeit in a movie all over again?? make a fantasy movie that's a fantasyand don't mix it with this everyday crap routine. make a new betterworld and stop trying to keep this one. this is why old movies rule andnew movies suck. watch fantasia with mickey mouse instead. nuff said |

Boring Special effects + Thin plot + A few scenes with funny dialogues. The special effects looked interesting in the first couple of scenes with people throwing fireballs, lightning, and remotely moving things. Then they became repetitive and boring. To me, the sorcerer's magic looked very limited. The plot was thin. It's understandable because it's meant for kids. There were a couple of scenes with funny dialogues. That's the only good things about this movie. |

Sorcerers ApprenticeThis review is from: The Sorcerer's Apprentice (Two-Disc Blu-ray / DVD Combo) (Blu-ray) Very enjoyable family film. Nicolas Cage has subtle humor and dynamic screen presence. Lots of action. Pay attention to the very beginning as it sets the stage for the rest of the film. |

Dark, witty and edgy. An enjoyable modern Disney film. After a search of more than a thousand years, Sorcerer Balthazar Blank(Nicholas Cage) must recruit an apprentice to become the successor tothe infamous Merlin. However, Horvath (Alfred Molina) has other plans,to resurrect Morgana (Alice Krige) to take over the world.Frequent Disney film director Jon Turteltaub delivers a wonderfulfantasy family film set in present day New York. The special effectsand action set-ups are first rate, as to are the cast which includesthe ever reliable and diverse Toby Kebbell of RocknRolla (2008) andPrince of Persia(2010) and Italian beauty Monica Bellucci to name afew. Cage is on surprisingly likable good form and looks particularcomfortable in his role.At first lead actor Jay Baruchel as Dave, the Sorcerer's Apprentice, isannoying, a mix of a bad impression of Chris Kattan's Corky Romanovoice and gawkiness, who is reminiscent of a young Mike Myers. But asthe film progresses he becomes as likable as the dancing mops, magicfights and sorcery stand off's.It's has modern Disney stamped all over it, it's a little darker, witha witty and edgy screenplay by a number of competent writers. All inall its a great take on the elements of classic magical Disney filmsand other fantasy timeless tales. |

Pretty Good!!!This movie was a little bit better than I expected. It was veryentertaining, and had a decent storyline. The only thing that annoyedme was Dave Stutler's voice. Nicholas Cage stars as a Sorcerer namedBalthazar Blake who has imprisoned evil sorcerer's in a Grimhold. Inthe year 2000, Balthazar meets Dave and gives him a dragon ring. 10years later in present day, Balthazar returns for Dave, and an evilsorcerer named Maxim Horvath is released. Dave is trained by Balthazarto use his powers with the help of the ring. Balthazar and Dave muststop Horvath from releasing Morgana le Fay. I would definitelyrecommend THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE!!! |

Comic moments but don't expect muchAfter the success of the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, somebody thought that it would be a good idea to take the popular Mickey Mouse short, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" from Fantasia, and turn that into a full-length movie. Like Pirates, this movie had little to do with the thing it was based off of, minus a short tribute scene. While the film had lots of potential and some pretty cool magic tricks, overall, the film came short in a lot of different aspects. The film felt very rushed (in the same way Eragon was rushed) in the sense that it felt like the filmmakers were trying to get through each scene as quickly as possible. This left little room for character, emotional, and situational development. Each scene would start to develop and then it would jump to the next scene. The movie also came packed full of loopholes and "unnecessarys". That means that there were a lot of things and characters that had no logic or purpose in the movie. And they'd introduce something that would seem important, but it ended up having no real purpose in the film. That, and the movie was predictable.Aside from those things, the special effects were nice, the music was well chosen ("The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World and "Secrets" by OneRepublic), and there were some pretty cool visuals.*Spoiler Alert*The thing I liked most in this film was the use of electricity to create music. My favorite scene was near the end when Dave was fighting Morgana and he used the lamp electricity against her; if you listen you can hear how the electricity generates the film's musical score during the scene. Subtle, but I thought it was a really nice filmmaking technique to employ. Very classy.*End Spoiler Alert*It had it's comic moments and was overall fun, but don't expect very much.[...] |

Good movie but Jay Baruchel is annoyingly miscastI enjoyed this movie and the special effects rock . However JayBaruchel as the title character is a major miscast. The wooden acting ,grating one note performance and sloppy look all bring this movie down.If he isn't whining , he's cheesing it up with really bad dialog like"knuckle bump" or "Can i pee now?" .Warranted he didn't write thescript which at times is really bad but he doesn't help it with hisirritating child like outcast role. I'm not familiar with any of hisother work but he belongs behind the camera as in maybe voice-overs notin front of it. I've heard he does voice-overs better .Maybe he shouldstick to that. The rest of the cast does well, Cage is brooding andmysterious and the always beautiful Monica Belluci looks great. AlfredMolina sinister to the max and the always amazing Alice Krige as themajor baddie, loved her as the Borg Queen in the Star Trek movies too.The love interest in this movie was no doubt put in for the teenagehormone ravaged boys as she adds nothing to the movie when she is onscreen besides eye candy , she can't act any better than Baruchel. Overall a 7/10 -- could have been so much better without Baruchel and abetter written storyline. Still it is mindless entertainment. |

An enjoyable romp by the Bruckheimer crew & Disney! The Sorcerers Apprentice(released July/10)is a very enjoyable flick, employing some very engaging special effects that blend seamlessly with the action on screen. The film opens with an introduction of the protagonist,in this case Nicholas Cage as Balthazar Blake, and the antagonist in the form of Alfred Molina as Maxim Horvath. Both were apprentices to the legendary Merlin, who both fell in love with another of his apprentices Veronica, played by Monica Bellucci.Maxim became a bitter rival to Balthazar, turning to the dark side of the magical craft and joining forces with an evil sorceress named Morganna, played by Alice Krige. At one point to save her love Veronica "absorbs" the evil Morganna into her and in turn Balthazar is forced to imprison them into a nesting doll along with Maxim. Before Merlin dies he gives Balthazar a dragon ring and charges him to find his successor, the Prime Merlinean, who will ultimately defeat the evil Morganna and Maxim.Over a thousand years pass and Balthazar has come to New York and finally finds what he thinks is his successor in the form of one Dave, played by Jay Baruchel. He first meets him when Dave is a precocious ten year old,who is trying to retrieve a note from a girl he is smitten with. The note drifts lazily in the wind and leads him to an old antique shop run by Balthazar.Balthazar is convinced, when the dragon ring placed into Dave's hand suddenly animates and wraps around his finger. When Balthazar goes to retrieve some papers Dave discovers a nesting doll and by accident releases Maxim.Maxim and Balthazar are soon fighting again and end up both trapped inside a giant urn.Dave runs out of the shop and throws the doll away and all the effects in the shop, including the urn,end up being sold to a myriad of different people.Fast forward 10 years and Dave is now a self described science geek who carries on experiments with Tesla technology in an old abandoned subway. In fact Dave is also a teacher and before the start of one of his classes he runs into his old flame, still a student, now in university, and begins to rekindle his old feelings for her.Meanwhile the urn that has sat 10 years now in an owners apartment,it is suddenly starting to jiggle, making the owner a little nervous. When it breaks open Maxim is the first out and he tries killing Balthazar by throwing the urn through the multi storied window. However Balthazar manages to escape just in time and he tracks Dave down once again.Dave becomes his reluctant student, but between his romantic excursions,he gets frustrated by his lack of progress.Maxim is on the prowl as he wants that nesting doll or Grimhold,as it is referred to,for it contains Morganna, with whom he can rule the world with.To release Morganna he has to obtain more powers and this he does first by tracking down a "helper",from whom he extracts his magical essence after his usefulness is over. When he gets the doll and cracks the first egg it releases another spirit in the form of a Salem witch. When she does her turn he again extracts her power. After this he obtains the dragon ring from Dave and he is able to crack the last egg and release Morganna/Veronica.The location is Battery Park in Manhatten and Morganna begins to release the dead from around the world in an effort to take it over.Balthazar has asked Dave to stay behind while he tackles his nemesis alone, but Dave knows he won't succeed without his help.Balthazar confronts Morganna and Maxim at Battery Park and in the meantime Dave's girlfriend(now in on the picture) and Dave in a Tesla equipped car, head to aid Balthazar. When Dave arrives Balthazar has absorbed Morganna's evil spirit into him but she escapes and Dave and she battle it out. After a fight to the finish Dave wins the day and saves Balthazars life in the bargain.Balthazar and Veronica are reunited,Dave and his girlfriend are set for a new life together but Maxim, where has he gone? A final shot as the movie ends settles that as his hat, which Dave has picked up and put on the edge of the iron gate at the park,is now sitting in an antique shop. The camera pans slowly to the hat,but the unmistakable hand and cane of Maxim come into the picture, scooping up the hat.Fade to black.Sequel anyone?Yes,if done properly this could be a nice little franchise for Disney.Cage and Molina make wonderful foes and I'm hoping Baruchel can shore up his acting skills in the next one.He blows hot and cold throughout the film and sometimes doesn't seem to be able to handle the subtleties of his character. There are more than a few chase scenes and it is obvious to those who know Bruckheimer films, that he has gotten the chase scene down to a fine art.And this movie is no exception. This being the Sorcerers Apprentice, the name harkens back to Disneys animated classic Fantasia. In that movie there was a sequence with Mickey Mouse putting on an enchanted hat and trying to become a competent magician in one fell swoop.Of course it didn't work out and chaos reigned supreme.Well THIS film has just such a sequence as Dave tries out his magical skills trying to clean up his laboratory with mops and buckets.Well everything goes to H-E double hockey sticks in no time flat and it takes Balthazar to clean it all up.A nice tie in.Technically speaking the film has been wonderfully mastered and is in its original a/r of 2:40:1,and the sound picture are clear and crisp.Extras include a making of featurette,a deleted scene and some Disney promo shorts. All in all a very good movie with a fast moving plot. The only weak spot is Baruchel, but Cage,Molina and the rest more than pick up the slack for his shortcomings.Bruckheimer,in his usual fashion, keeps the action scenes swift and sure and the S/FX are great.Top marks and highly recommended.4-4 /2 stars. |

Poor Story & great special effects are enjoyable if you surpass Jay Baruchel made his name by screaming at Katherine Heigl's Vagin* in "Knocked Up"THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE – CATCH IT (B-) The Sorcerer's Apprentice isjust another mindless special effects bonanza. I was just wondering howthey even approve scripts like The Last Airbender, Prince of Persia,Percy Jackson & Lighting thief and now The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Thismovie falls very close to Percy Jackson but wins in action and specialeffects as compare to Percy Jackson. I think besides the childish storythe biggest flaw of the movie was Jay Baruchel. C'mon Give me a break,he is the ugliest actor around and you cast him as the lead protagonistand spend Millions on him and then consider people to rush into see himdoing action. Give me a break! Jay Baruchel made his name by screamingat Katherine Heigl's Vagina in "Knocked Up" that's how we know him "TheFunny Vagina Screamer". Its weird that actors who use to play geek orfunny, they were at least handsome but now Michael Cera & Jay Baruchelare geeks "Who act the same in all of their movie" No-wonder MichaelCera tank $80 million "Scott Pilgrim" & $20 Million "Youth in Revolt"and Jay Baruchel tank $150 Million " The Sorcerer's Apprentice" & $20Million "She's Out of my League". Ohhh Lets talk about Nicolas Cage, well he was good along with Monica Belluchi & Alfred Molina. TeresaPalmer looks gorgeous & charming as always. Overall, it's enjoyable ifyou surpass sappiness, Ugliness and wannabe Cuteness of Jay Baruchel. |

Easy fun movie, nothing profoundI got exactly what I was expecting: an easy action comedy, combiningHarry Potter, a geeky Jewish kid romance and some fun lines spoken withthe usual bored sound by Nicholas Cage. The villains are cardboard, theheroes as well, the plot utterly predictable. But the film was fun, theeffects were OK and so I had a reasonably good time watching it.That about sums up the entire movie and I have difficulty addinganything more on it. The blonde was cute, but not in an exceptionalway; the main character was mainly annoying, Nicholas Cage was coolerthan in any of his recent films; Monica Bellucci and Alice Krige hadvery small roles, not worth mentioning.Bottom line: another effortless win by the kid with all the magic and aplot that could have easily been developed into something moreworthwhile, if anyone cared enough. As such, a film that is both funand incredibly easy to forget. |

Don't mind the modern life blended with merlinian magic** might have spoilers**So, I'm not a HUGE fan of merlin and Arthur stuff, but i guess i know alittle bit more than the average person specially in America, but men ididn't know that merlin had apprentices?? well since this is Sci-fistuff i guess anything is possible, and somewhere there i read that heactually had apprentices, because he would get tired every othercentury or so and then he will take a nap of decades.Either way, movie leaving the action effects on the side, which aregreat on the battles between sorcerers, the story was good interesting, but well the was it was projected was a little eeh. i mean i like JayBaruchel work i think he is funny and he can pull the classic geeky ordummy job but i felt like i was watching, shes out of my league, butsince hope and LOVE was a major key on this movie i'll get over it. buthis character Dave and Becky i don't know they didn't blend very good,in the end i left with the impression about they be braking up soon.As always Alfred Molina has a great touch for villain roles, classy andjust great. But what happened to him in the end?? i just saw him beingattacked and pushed away.Either way great movie if u are not so knowledgeable of merlinianstories, but also its good to see that there can be magic too on modernworld n nor just on the sword and stone era.Giving it a 7 for the overrated geek and beauty feel in love thing andfor having a not so impressive fight with Morgana as it was withhorvart all along the movie. |
