Way better than New moon

Okay,so I didn't read all the books, I'm not obsessive fan, but Ireally liked the first movie, cause it' a love story with vampires. TheNew moon was nothing like that, it was something between really baddrama, bad action movie, etc. Cause I liked Twilight, I gave it achance for a third movie. And I liked it. The story wasn't lame, itwasn't slow, it was OK. So yes, all that loving scenes, it made me goeh, but I'm not 15 anymore, I don't believe in love like that, but Ican see why people want to believe and why they love Twilight saga. It's positive, it's like you can escape from a bad dream, where baddream is reality. Yeah, when I was 15 i wanted love like that, whatBella and Edward have it's amazing, but that's just a story. So yeah, movie is what it must be. A beautiful fairytale.

BEST YET!

This review is from: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Two-Disc Special Edition) (DVD) I am an avid Twilight fan - read all the books - saw the movies in the theater - and watch the DVD's over and over. This was the best so far!

If you can muster up a coma for the first hour and forty minutes, you may actually enjoy yourself…

If you can muster up a coma for the first hour and forty minutes, youmay actually enjoy yourself…When people hear 'Twilight', it will illicit one of two reactions.Reaction one: "F%$# that noise and that emo vampire s#%@ too". Reactiontwo: "Eeeeeeeeeeek. I'm so wet for Jacob". If you identified with thelatter reaction, please stop reading here. For everyone else who'sactually an adult, please continue on.Eclipse is the third installment of the 'Twilight Saga' (their words, not mine). The buzz around this movie is that it's "The best Twilightyet" and yes, the buzz is correct, this is indeed the best Twilightmovie to date. But please keep in mind that this is a relativestatement. Just like, "That was the best torture I've ever endured" isalso relative. The entire movie I found myself asking "Why should wecare about this tripod of a relationship between Bella, Jacob andEdward"......IF YOU'D LIKE THE REST OF THE REVIEW, PLEASE CLICK BELOW FOR AN AWESOMEREVIEW WEBSITE!!http://thebodycount.com/2010/07/06/review-twilight-eclipse-2010/

Way better than a 1 out of 10!

I only voted it 10 out of 10 just to compensate for the haters whovoted 1 out of 10. It was actually a good movie and pretty true to thebook. It was choppy at times and lacked a good flow. I believe that ifone of the last two directors did this film it would be rated muchhigher. If you're a fan of Twilight than you will love it and if notthen you probably won't appreciate it as much. What I did like aboutthis movie is that it did give the audience what it wants ie. moreEdward and Bella time and the movie was actually funny at parts. I feellike the characters have grown and the actors as well. EspeciallyRobert, when people were walking out of the movie they all were talkingabout how they are switching from team Jacob to team Edward, he reallylooked good in this movie and was convincing as Edward Cullen. Anywaysee the movie if you are a fan but don't expect it to be epic and thengive it a one because it didn't live up to your critical expectations. It's a fun movie to see with your girlfriends.

Leaps and bounds above the first two films

This film shocked me and when I say shocked me I mean wowwwww!!!! Thiswas a decent movie. To some it was even worse a movie because they areof the a.d.d generation and have no right reviewing something if theydon't have an understanding and appreciation for the art of filmmaking! This film had a stronger story than the first two combined, the actingwas much improved, though still very dramatic ala Gothic soap opera.Kristen was very much there emotionally and seemed more grown up andless self centered. Robert Pattinson provided an intensity that allowedchemistry to be more believable and relevant for the two lovers. Igotta hand it to David Slade. I think he did the best who could to pickup the pieces that were so amateurishly, lazily, slopped around by theprevious two directors who obviously had no artistic dedication to theseries. Those directors were the evil genius masterminds who knew theywould make a ton of money and didn't have to make good a movie to doso. Those fainting screaming girls just want to see their charactersvisibly on screen and it didn't matter to them if the movies wereactually seriously respectable. But David Slade is an aspiringfilmmaker with a respect for the art as seen in his debut Hard Candy. He really did try to use the clicheeeeeeeeeeee driven writing ofStephanie Meyer and make something special out of it all. And hesucceeds more than fails! Eclipse is not a perfect movie but It gives abit of hope for those true film lovers who are in the know of howtrashy the series has been handled, the hope for those fans that arestill curious as to where the finale will go, that maybe, just maybe, fourth time is a charm and it will all end with a BANGGG!!!! But do weusually allow more than three strikes??? We shall see!

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" is great!

"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" is great! This is how the story goes: In ECLIPSE, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life. The cast led by Kristen Stewart (as Bella), Robert Pattinson (as Edward) & Taylor Lautner (as Jacob) is great! The directing by David Slade (who also directed "Hard Candy" (2005) & "30 Days Of Night" (2007) is great! The screenplay (based on Stephenie Meyer's novel) by Melissa Rosenberg (who also did the screenplays to "Twilight" (2008) & "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" (2009), who is also writing the upcoming screenplays to "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2" (2011 & 2012) is great! The music by Howard Shore (who recently did the music to "Edge Of Darkness" (2010) is great! The cinematography by Javier Aguirresarobe (who also did the cinematography to "The Road" (2009), "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" & the upcoming "Fright Night" (2011) is great! The film editing by Art Jones (who also did the film editing to "Hard Candy" & "30 Days Of Night") & Nancy Richardson (who also did the film editing to "Twilight" & "The Last Song" (2010) is great! The casting by Stuart Aikins, Sean Cossey (both of them did the casting to "Trick 'r Treat" (2008) & Rene Haynes (both of them did the casting to "The Twilight Saga: New Moon") is great! The production design by Paul D. Austerberry (who also did the production design to "Assault On Precinct 13" (2005), "30 Days Of Night", "Death Race" (2008) & the upcoming "The Three Musketeers" (2011) is great! The art direction by Jeremy Stanbridge (who also did the art direction to "Hot Tub Time Machine" (2010) is great! The set decoration by Shannon Gottlieb (who also did the set decoration to "Scary Movie 4" (2006) & Rose Marie McSherry (who also did the set decoration to "Trick 'r Treat") is great! The costume design by Tish Monaghan (who also did the costume design to "Insomnia" (2002), "The Day The Earth Stood Still" (2008), "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" & the upcoming "Cats & Dogs: The Revenge Of Kitty Galore" (2010) is great! This is a great movie that keeps you entertained to the very end. This is one of the best films of the summer. This is the best movie in the "Twilight" series, thus far.

Derailed from book....

This review is from: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Special Blu-ray/DVD Single-Disc Edition) (Blu-ray) All I will say is this...Kristen Stewart is NOT only the worse actress on the face of the Earth, she is horrible, just horrible in this role (for all 3 sagas) I still believe Jacob and Edward should go off together and make vampire-wolf babies (if that is possible)

Surprisingly worth watching!

New moon; as we all know, was one hell of a let down. Eclipse is mostcertainly a turn for the better. The acting is better, and the plot wasa better fit towards the book storyline. I don't understand why thereviews are so bad... This movie is hands down much better then NewMoon. And other then being pretty slow it was still very enjoyable. Ifyour a Twyhard you will love it. If you are a critic you won't. And ifyour an average Joe, you will enjoy the movie. Every important detainin the book was covered in this movie, and it sets Braking Dawn up wellwhen it comes to a continuation. I regretted seeing New Moon but Iloved watching this adaptation. it would be a wise choice to read theshort life of brew turner before you watch this film.

Got it late!

This review is from: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Single-Disc Edition) (DVD) I`ve ordered new release movies from other vendors and NEVER had lousy delivery like this. The relese date was December 4th. Other vendors ship the movie 2-3 in advance so you`ll receive it ON the release date. Not Amazon! I pre-ordered it, and it wasn`t shipped until the 4th, and I didn`t get it until the 8th! UNACCEPTABLE!!!! ALL vendors actually have the movies in stock DAYS, and even WEEKS before they are oficially released to the public. There is no excuse to make the customer wait. And to top it off the price was the same as in the stores! I`ll never order a movie from Amazon again, and unless you like to wait, I`d advise you to do the same.

Be aware!

This review is from: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) Be aware, this version only includes the movie itself, no special features. I purchased this version because I don't need a BluRay and a DVD of the same movie (in the dual disc version), but I didn't realize that little detail. It's not made very clear on the product page. I'm sure you can find a higher priced version somewhere that includes special features if you look.

Best of the three

Eclipse was by far the best of the Twilight saga so far. I'm not areader so I will not discuss how close or far this film is from thebook. What I do know is I am by far a huge vampire and werewolf fan.I will start with the acting though. Very much improved but still notgreat. After seeing Robert Pattinson in the movie 'Remember Me' Ihardly doubt his acting ability and blame it on this series that I eventhought he was bad. On the other hand, I can't say that for the othertwo big three. It does seem as though Kristen Stewart has read commentsor something and has decided to try breathing through her nose for oncebut her acting is definitely not great. How she got cast for this partI'm not even sure (though I would not change her now). Taylor Lautneris improving but I still see him as the worser of the three. Congratson all the muscles but you probably should have worked on your actingabilities a little more.As for the movie, the first 20 minutes were horrible but the movie didpick up. In the end I did enjoy the film but had I not been interestedin the saga I probably would not have been. This film was much betterput together than the first two and finally some decent action to it.I'm still lost on how 2 people fall in love with Bella's character buthey... that's what Hollywood does.I still think after reading a lot of the reviews here that so many arebiased but the horrible obsession people have created over this series. The movie was not bad... the acting was much improved and the actionand dialogue was better. I liked Twilight but I liked New Moon better(though I was not at all satisfied with it the first time and watchingit again away from a bunch of screaming teen-aged girls in the theaterdefinitely made a difference) and I definitely like Eclipse more thanothers.Overall you wanna be somewhat knowledgeable of the series before yougo. But it is entertaining.

Awful packaging and distribution!!

This review is from: Twilight Saga: Eclipse BD combo [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) First off, I pre-ordered this movie for my wife and I recieved the movie two days after its dvd release date. As an Amazon prime member I'm guaranteed to have this movie on its day of release, instead she had to wait while everybody else was running down the street to Wal-Mart and getting it Saturday morning. My biggest complaint though is the packaging of the Special Edition Blu-ray and Dvd combo!! They actually want to charge upwards to $30.00 for a single disc release that contains the blu-ray on one side and the dvd on the other! I and others find this completely unacceptable and just another way cheapen their product while cheating the consumers!! Also, for a blu-ray that costs around $30.00 where's the freaking digital copy?

Best one yet!

I thought this movie was very good. I didn't read the book just beforeseeing the movie (the Harry Potter movies taught me that wasn't a goodidea) and I only read the book once. Although I'm not a die-hard fan ofthe series, I did go to the first two movies (with my friend who IS ahuge fan and loved this one) and I have to say, this movie was the bestso far.You can tell the actors are starting to get comfortable with eachother. Bella and Edward, while never my favorite couple, arenonetheless much more interactive and believable in this movie thanthey were in the first two. And Jacob is excellent. The scene thatJacob and Edward have together in the tent is superb. Also, I loved anyscene where Edward was uncomfortable. The back story of the newborns, taken from the new novella and notEclipse itself, was an interesting addition. While not strictlynecessary, it added depth to the villains that made the movie moreinteresting, and the fights more believable. Actually, they werelikable enough that you felt bad for them when the Volturi wereplanning their demise. Not to mention some good violence scenes thatcame out of it.Finally, the CGI of the wolves was great. I could almost believe therewere real wolves there...of course, you could still tell it was CGIbecause of their precise movements, but they didn't stick out like badCGI does. And the fights between wolves and vampires were very wellblended indeed.I don't know why this movie is rated so low...probably just peoplewanting the whole of the book crammed into the movie and missing theirfavorite part. But as someone who completely forgot what happened inthe third book by the time I saw this, I have to say I loved it. Thepacing was good (no random scenes circling around Bella for unnecessarylengths of time) and it was easy to follow. To all involved in itscreation, keep up the good work!

Good enough to see 3 times

I saw this movie 3 times in the theater an i will explain them all.1stwas at the midnight showing i was soo excited an i literally enjoyedwatching it i loved the book and the director did notdisappoint.Kristen Stewart did a way better job then in the last 2movies i saw her and so did Robert Patinson. Taylor Lautner was goodbut he came off to me as trying to hard or something to that affect.Bryce Dallas as the new victoria amazed me with her performance and inmy opinion (no disrespect for Rachel Lavere) i would have perferred herto have been victoria for the other 2. I left the theater amazed anhappy with the movie that i went the next day just to see it this timei wasn't so entertained it was still very good bu i was only reallylooking forward to the action scenes in the end. On my 3rd time to thetheater i was finally convinced that the movie was amazing the plot alittle rushed but the dialouge made up for it the acting so much betteran the intense fighting scenes had me on the edge of my seat all 3times. I love David Slade(director) an i wish he would be directingBreaking Dawn. If you did Like this movie and your blaming the directorplease don't because its not his fault i think if anyone wants to blamesomeone it should be the screen writer she is the one who writes thescripts and takes things out from the book the director is the one whofilms it.

Best yet!

This review is from: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Two-Disc Special Edition) (DVD) this movie is one of the best of the Twilight series. The video I purchased included a special disc that contained deleted scenes and extended scenes as well as behind the scenes look at the production. I loved it all. I have watched this movie several times now and every time I am grateful to AMAZON for not only sending it out so fast, but also for the convenience and economical price. Thank you Amazon for continuing to provide a great service at such a reasonable price.

no special features

This review is from: Twilight Saga: Eclipse [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) I'll keep a long story short. This version does not have anything besides the movie. If you are thinking of buying this version as a gift, don't. If I hadn't been so excited to watch the movie that I tore off the shrink wrap without reading, it would already be on the way back for a refund. As a fan, it is NOT the version I would have wanted. Stupid me, pre-ordering!

I really don't understand what all the fuss is about

I've really tried to understand why these movies and books are sopopular. I read the first book, and though it was a somewhat fun read,I didn't' see what all the hoopla was about and didn't bother readingall the others. The first Twilight I found to be entertaining, New Moon was asnoozefest, and now Eclipse found me straining to keep my eyes open. Inall honesty, it just seems like nothing ever really happens. Yes, thereare some short action sequences, and it was interesting to get somebackground information on some of the Cullens, but that's about it.I've really tried to understand why Edward and Jake are so into Bella, and I really don't get it. She's not that interesting of a person andshe's always walking around in what seems to me to be a gloomy state.Really, guys, just move on! Also, (just as a sidebar), if thewerewolves shorts can magically reappear after they turn back into ahuman, why do they run around without shirts? Shouldn't they reappeartoo? Just a thought. It also seems to me as if the actors are bored in this film too.Especially Kristen Stewart. She seems as though she would rather beanywhere than making another Twilight movie. But I think the overall problem is that there are really no surprises,no twist and turns in any of the movies. It's all prettystraightforward and predictable. Quite honestly, I find the TV show"The Vampire Diaries" to be far superior to Twilight in almost everyway. It has the same premise, more or less (mortal girl torn betweenher love for two supernatural beings), except that you need a scorecard to keep up with what's going on. Every week is a roller-coasterride, which is really enjoyable, and you completely understand whyeveryone is into the lead girl. And that's what I thought Twilightshould have been like.I guess at the end of the day, you can never underestimate the power ofmarketing, both for the books and the movies, or the buying power ofthe average teenage girl.

Edward is an Archangel! David Slade did it!

Ask any of my friends, I'm a Twilight fanatic (& I'm 50!)! I like many others dismissed this series as being juvenile, without investigating it myself...until I was stuck in O'Hare for 4 hours and had read every magazine available! Because this Saga starts out in high school doesn't make it young adult...I believe this seris is adult. Stephenies publisher simplified the first three books because THEY saw this as young adult. That was her initial book deal, three books. Breaking Dawn is the 4th and marvelously different. Eclipse and Breaking Dawn are my favorite books, though Twilight is a close 2nd to these two because they introduced these wonderful characters. This film captured the book as much as was humanly possibly in the time they had... I believe all three films would have benefitted from an additiona 10-20 minutes each (especially New Moon - which destroyed Bella and Edwards reunification in dialogue, action & sequence of events). Eclipse had David Slade - who would have thought it would have taken him to finally complete the picture for this series!!?! David did it! - Secondly, he knew the talent he had before him... Kristen, Rob, Ashley, Billy, Taylor.. this guy knew what he had and he knew how to direct his talent! These young people are oh so talented and perfectly cast, but you have to be able to direct young people to get the most out of them - that's what Catherine knew (and Chris forgot!). Twilight Saga is not just a story line and script on auto pilot and you need to work to translate what we (the fans!) Love! David Slade did that - Rob did his best work to date - when Bella says "yes" to marriage - in the book it says (paraphrased) he looked as glorious as an archangel - and Rob pulls that off - as I believe no one else ever could. Rob is Edward personified, but he cannot do this alone - it takes direction, proper editing & decent dialogue...ECLIPSE is excellent!!! Many who have pooh-pooh'd these movies dig ECLIPSE - because this movie, as in the books, the adult portion of the series really takes over... I wish David Slade was directing Breaking Dawn - Let's hope this new director can garner the same measure of action/edge/emotion and atmosphere that is the Twilight Saga & can direct these actors in the manor they deserve and require - ECLIPSE ACHIEVED THAT!

Is Bella on Team Jacob or Team Edward?

"The Twilight Saga: New Moon" abruptly ended with Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) telling his girlfriend, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) that he will turn her into a vampire on the condition that they get married first. And so "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," the third film in a series serving as an extended metaphor for abstinence, begins with the two lovingly lying in a field of flowers, and you can sense the anticipation they both feel, especially Bella, who radiates with virginal longing. As bothersome as I found this twice before, this time around I found it oddly amusing, maybe because, after their painfully statuesque performances in "New Moon," Stewart and Pattinson are once again allowed to emote. Stewart especially, who takes on a whole different energy when she's given the opportunity to crack a smile.Alas, it's quickly hampered by a scene in which the metaphor turns literal; Bella wants to have sex with Edward while she's still human, but his chivalrous standards kick into high gear and he refuses her advances. He then lectures her on how, back in his day, he would have courted her, taken chaperoned walks with her, asked her father's permission for her hand in marriage, and so on and so forth. He then tells her that, while his soul is done for, hers is still worth preserving. What I find intriguing is that Stephenie Meyer wove such blatant themes into a fantasy, a genre created specifically as a way to escape reality. Even if sex before marriage is forbidden by Mormon doctrine, what's to stop her from writing about it? If I were her, I would have had Bella and Edward go at it like dogs in heat, all the while remembering that my personal values haven't been affected.Complicating Bella's situation is the hot-blooded, mostly shirtless werewolf Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), who professes his love for her as well as his hatred of Edward, the Cullen Clan, and vampires in general. Does Bella feel the same way about Jacob? She's not entirely sure. All she knows is that she needs both him and Edward to protect her, which means they will have to find some way to get along. It seems that, up in nearby Seattle, the evil vampire Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) has been busy recruiting an army of young vampires, or newbies, for purposes of attacking the Cullen Clan and getting revenge against Bella; aware of this, the Cullens join forces with their blood enemies, the werewolves, in the hopes of putting a stop to the newbies, who are apparently much more lethal than their older counterparts.Despite the preachy subtexts, "Eclipse" is an improvement - albeit a tepid one - from the previous two "Twilight" films. I appreciated the greater emotional range displayed by Stewart and Pattinson, I liked looking at the none-too-convincing visual effects, and I found the action sequences more exciting, sparse though they may be. All the same, it still suffers from excessive length and unreasonable pacing, and just like before, they're linked to tedious conversations between the leads. I was especially fed up with Edward's repeated attempts to talk Bella out of becoming a vampire, and likewise, with her insistence on going through with it. The more I hear the Cullens describe the required sacrifices, the less I'm inclined to side with Bella; aging and death are frightening, but soulless immortality is unthinkable.Lautner is still a chiseled hunk for the girls to swoon over, which may adequately distract them from the fact that he spends virtually all of his performance angrily clenching his jaw. When Jacob isn't romantically sulking, then he's furiously confronting Edward. Nowhere is this more apparent than in a tent high atop a snowy mountain, in which Bella, her teeth chattering from the cold, lets Jacob embrace her for his body heat: "Let's face it," he tells Edward, "I am hotter than you." As Bella sleeps, Jacob and Edward glower at each other, and they quietly but firmly discuss the fact that Bella still has to make a choice, and that, if she had been given enough time, she already could have made it. So I guess the question is simple, especially if you've been eating at Burger King: Is Bella on Team Jacob or Team Edward?"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" will almost certainly please the fans, just as they were pleased twice before. Non fans will have a rougher time of it, although I suspect it will be easier to win them over with this film than it was with the first two. As for myself, I recognize its progress as the third chapter of a series, but it's still too slow, too overwrought, and too didactic for me to recommend it. You've got to hand it to Stephenie Meyer - she really knows how to sermonize. I might have gotten something out of it had the topic been less divisive, however. Aren't there moral themes that we all more or less agree upon, such as treating everyone with respect or being charitable or something along those lines? If I'm going to be preached at, and if it has to be in the form of a vampire romance, at least make sure that the message is making good sense.
