Absolutely Dreadful

THIS CONTAINS A HINT OF SPOILER.The first thing people say when you tell them how bad this movie was,"Why are you thinking in a Michael Bay movie?"Unfortunately, unlike some of the clapping, giggling, mouth breathingmorons who I had to spend 3 hours sitting through this crap with, Icannot turn my brain off. I like to be entertained and at the sametime, be told a story.Michael Bay cannot be bothered to tell me a story. In fact, Michael Baycouldn't be bothered to make a movie that made any sense. Frombeginning to end, Transformers 3 was 2hrs and 45mins of explosions,CGI, more explosions and one of the most disjointed, badly acted, horribly written pieces of dredge I've ever seen. There are plot holes wide enough to fit Cybertron through (and, funnilyenough, this actually occurs), while every actor phones in theirperformance, trying extremely hard not to rush off the set to thumbthrough the countless millions they earned to simply appear on set andstay standing.Yet, after reading some of these reviews, I'm also beginning to thinkit's Bay's attempt to gauge the intelligence of his viewership. If allthe peasant majority need to be seduced is an incredibly loudsoundtrack and footage of robots fighting, then I have a very strong

I thought, Michael Bay apologized for part 2...

I don't always review films, but when I do, it's either because themovie is great, or it really sucks! Which one do you think it is?I thought Michael Bay apologized for the second movie, but still hedidn't seem to have learned anything. The annoying parents were stillthere (although I have to give him credit for keeping their screen-timeto a minimum) And although he put some well-achieved actors in thismovie (John Voigt saved Transformers 1, in my opinion), both JohnMalcovich and Frances McDormand are both redundant for the plot (ifthere was anything like a plot) and also had pretty ridiculous roles. And yeah, you have to give the movie some credit for the specialeffects, but now really think about it!...Were there any amazing scenes apart from those in the trailer? Idon't think so. Optimus slashing some Decepticons, Building fallingdown with protagonists in it, City of Chicago under a large-scaleattack of spaceships... all in the trailer...And now some more points that make the movie the terrible piece ofcinematic pulp it is:-product placement (yeah, all computers are lenovo, I get it)-soundtrack (some nice pieces from the first one but anything new?anyway, what has become of linkin park?)-non-existing jokes (at some points you feel you were supposed tolaugh, but couldn't really find anything funny... just weird)-what the fudge did the Chinese guy from hangover do there?

a bad movie, worth a watch for the visuals of last 40 minutes.

Shia LaBeouf returns as Sam Witwicky in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. When a mysterious event from Earth's past erupts into the present dayit threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alonewill not be able to save us. Starring Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, Tyrese Gibson,Patrick Dempsey , Frances McDormand , John Malkovich , RosieHuntington- Whiteley , Kevin Dunn , Julie White , Alan Tudyk , KenJeong and others.OK everyone, the whole 2 stars i have given are just for the visualeffects, great CGI and 3D fun only and to nothing else.well still the first movie was good for me, with good story and plotand everything else in a nice manner. second one was the worst withonly CGI and explosions and nothing else but this third movie is whatthe second wasn't but still what it shouldn't have been like. there isnothing in the first 90 minutes other than silly jokes and weirdness imean what the hell was all that about ? was it about some silliestcomedy about this teen finding a job and copping with his sexy GF orabout Transformers. excessive unnecessary jokes and silliness ruinsthis movie to a point i thought i;ll rate it just half star. later onthe last 40 minutes kind of made me think that i should at leastappreciate the other effort but still that doesn't change the fact thatthis movie like every other Bay movie is just plain bad.Screenplay was very bad. plot was awful until the last part but thedamage have already been done. written extremely bad. plain dull andempty and very boring movie. good technically CGI was fantastic. greatvisuals. it wasn't as over the top explosive like the last which wasgood but then it was boring with nothing in it than many explosions andstill n basic plot. i don't know why but Michael Bay can't make goodmovies or simply he doesn't know how to do that anymore, he is justlost i think. good sound and effects.some great sequences in the last, i loved that glass building scene andthe whole battle between Autobots and Megatrones while Chicago is beendestroyed.people will enjoy and rate it very good for the visuals but i can'tignore the fact that the movie was actually bad.

I had fun but,,,,

OK, i won't say any spoilers but the story it self is shallow and allowme to say its totally predictable, we all knew what will happen, inother words you'll give your brain a rest because there's no depth inthe story at all. What was real amazing was the effects i mean wow :Dits one of those few time that you can actually have fun in a 3D moviei was in the edge of my seat ,Michael Bay made an amazing job indirecting this movie. Hell yeah i had a lot of fun and i had a gr8time, but that's all the movie's goal is to have fun so it served itspurpose, but don't expect to see something deep, because you won't findany. So if you just want to have fun, see flying robots and these kindof stuff then this film is for you.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan reference

Okay, I am not going to say anything that hasn't already been saidexcept one thing.... It was obvious that the Sentinel was the voice ofLeonard Nimoy. I'd recognize that voice anywhere. But did anyone noticethat he used the line, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of thefew?" That was the very same line he used in Star Trek II: The Wrath ofKhan.I'm surprised that no one had picked up on that. The first half of the movie was complete garbage. It was slow, boring,non-sense.The second half was totally action packed. It is the tale of twomovies.

Transformers Dark Of The Moon Is a Great Film

First off i just wanna say that when this film came out. I saw it intheaters with my Dad and it was just awesome. It topped other movieslike Harry Potter and also Iron Man off and was an awesome film aboutrobots which i really enjoyed and i pretty much am now a Transformersfan. The thing that i liked in this film is that Micheal Bay did a good jobdirecting the film. If it was not for him, None of the Transformerswould have been awesome such as this. But as a director i give himpraise and also respect for being such a good director. So i have toadmit he was even a lot better and also he directed such a great film. The Decepticons want nothing more then the All-Spark cube for thedestruction of our planet. Wanting nothing more then the cube itself. The Autobots join up to help the government with secret missions. ButSam Witwicky and his new girlfriend Carly Spencer are going nowherewhen the Decepticons threaten to destroy the earth and with their newleader Sentinel Prime. It's up to Optimus Prime and his friends to savethe world once again from a new threat if it's not stopped. Of courseThe Ark must be stopped because it's technology will destroy the worldand ending all life on it if not stopped. The special effects in this film like Buildings collapsing and ofcourse the Autobots fighting with the Decepticons is intense. Almostall the scenes had some perspective to them and a lot of those sceneswere amazing. I enjoyed seeing them as they looked so real. And almostCGI like. Also Shia Lebouef is a great actor in this film. He expresses and actsso well that his performance is just unforgettable to watch. And hisTalent amazing, He played recently as Mutt Williams in Indina Jones. And played as Sam Witwicky in Transformers. Though he does a good jobplaying in the Disney TV Show Even Stevens, And of course many moreroles in the film Disturbia, And of course in The Battle of ShakerHeights. He was just excellent in this film all by himself. Also Megan Fox is replaced by Victoria Secret's model and JasonStatham's girlfriend Rosie Huntington-Whitely. Of course her role andher acting is awesome. But in some scenes she does not act normal likewhen she's only screaming. She looks great and she is an awesomeactress. But Megan Fox was replaced as in the two other films were shewas still with Sam but was eventually replaced which was nice too.Although this film definitely has some great fight scenes and thesoundtrack that is composed very well i should say is the best. Ofcourse it's not that bad and it sounds a lot better because the musicmakes it suspenseful and yet violent. But still the fight scenes arereally violent no matter what you think. This makes the movie a lotbetter then it already is.Although the movie is a great film. I would have to say that this is anaction packed film and it's a very good one. There are many great funnyscenes in it like where Simmons knocks on the door and a RussianDoorman says that means goodbye. It surely makes me laugh every time isee it and the script is very well indeed told and read by the actorswhich is also nice. But the fact is that if you are a big Transformersfan then you have got to see this movie. It's all based on the toys andthe TV Show and of course tops it off in my case. This is even betterthen Indiana Jones or Iron Man and also is something you have to see tobelieve. The story is incredible. The characters stay true and reactperfectly in each situation. And the entire film and acting issomething to be remembered. Everyone is going to love seeing this filmlike i did in the theater. So if you are wanting to see a superhero flick then look no furthurthen to Transformers Dark Of The Moon. It surely is an awesome film andis a great film. It will make you laugh and the director behind itwhich is Micheal Bay is surely amazing.

Why Michael Bay Why????

If all you wanted was T&A go direct porn. That chick was HORRIBLE!! All I saw was a pair of lips running around clinging to Sam(who by the way turned into a whining bratty five year old who couldn't have his effing way!) in a white jacket that never and I mean NEVER got dirty. Even Megan went the extra mile and wore some grease make up to look real. What the hell happened to the storyline? It was good in the beginning then it felt like I was tripping off acid or something. Everything was scrambled around and confusing. If that was your goal then... you did a great job. You turned Optimus into a P U S S Y!! He's all bad ass in the last movie then turns into a pansy this movie. How in the hell did Megatron make a deal with homeboy when he was already on EARTH FROZEN SOLID!!! WHY DIDN'T THE FALLEN KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT?!?!?YOU KILLED BUMBLEBEE!!!! He was the best thing that ever happened to the movies and YOU KILLED HIM!!!!!I sat there ready to be blown away and all I got was that bull!!! My ass went numb!! NUMB!!! How could you do this to us? You promised it would be better than the last. Where in the hell were the 3D effects? Everything one was wooden and stiff. There was no chemistry between anyone. I felt like I was watching a toxic chemical spill... it was horrific but I couldn't turn away. No one clapped at the end. In fact there was quite a bit of food and drink thrown at the screen. I really hated to be one of the people working that day. I know without a doubt Megan Fox is counting her blessings that she got out when the getting was good. Hollywood already thinks she's a terrible actress and this bomb of a movie would have been the final nail in her career coffin. Here are a few quotes from other fellow reviewers:*Overdubbed historic presidential meeting footage of Kennedy in the 60's. Secret discovery from a "secret mission" on the Apollo spacewalk in 1969. Flash-forward to present day. Sam hooks up with a hottie girlfriend. OMG, the Decepticons are invading Chicago, save us Autobots! Sam screaming "eek, Optimus save us!" Bam, Bang and boom of explosions. Soldiers try, but cannot figure out how to stop the invasion from the Decepticons. Carly, Sams hot girlfriend, constantly dressed in stripper style outfits (guys will like this). Bam, bang and boom of more explosions. Constant scrimmages of fighting between the Autobots and Decepticons. I won't spoil the rest, although it isn't much more than described already.*The girl that replace Fox was not a actress she was background in the movie.*The new girl, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, who is definitely not the one for this movie and Sam. I don’t understand why she is everywhere showing her body in this movie, obviously, that’s the producer’s idea that wants us to forget about Megan. But that’s way too much, it feels like she is the main role.*Sam still has the hottest girlfriend in town. She’s played by thigh-flashing Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, whose “acting” makes her fired predecessor Megan Fox look like Meryl Streep by comparison*Sam's girlfriend is played by British model-turned-line reader Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who accomplishes the unthinkable of making Megan "Bay is Hitler" Fox look like a talented thespian. It's a cliché to remark that Carly has less personality than the most insignificant Transformer, but it's true.Like I said counting her blessings!!

Undeniably a blast, but nothing is altered.

Transformers (2007) undoubtedly delivered a very good start as grossingfor millions of dollars, by introducing the audiences to the new era of3D phenomenon. what's bad between Michael Bay's work is that he trimsdown the writing job just to save the effects that we really stipulate.Around 2009, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) came by andessentially a mediocre sequel that followed it's predecessor.Surreptitiously, the reviews were made it as the worst sequel. On Bay'swork, expectation is predictably firsthand. We expected that there willbe a sequel on the works during ROTF was hitting cinemas. And now, hereit came. But does it entice our 3D-blind eyes? Of course. But we neveralways rely on the CGI. Transformers: Dark of the Moon starts as all over the place. Not onlythat the film is revolting, but also granted me the mediocre experiencelike the other worst films on the film industry. Of course, the film isflooded with robots being either aggressive nor heroic. We never missthe prolonged fights or the struggle between humans and the roboticones. The audience may be surprised because of the added comic reliefsand innuendos but rather perverted. For instance Ken Jeong's part asJerry. And Rosie-Huntington Whiteley as Carly, that mad Megan Fox outof the picture. Sure, Huntington-Whiteley might have been captured alot of blokes out there or even the Anti-Fox's."Dark of the Moon" begins on the mechanical planet of Cybertron. Thewar between the Autobots and the Decepticons has reached a climax. TheDecepticons seem to have gotten the upper hand when a ship, suitablycalled the Ark, disappears. That ship crash-lands on our moon, and welearn that the US/Russian space race was primarily a cover forinvestigation of the Ark. Now, here's where things get a littlestrange. Using archived and newly created faux news footage, we learnthat Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong actually explored that ship whilewalking on the moon. In fact, the real 81-year-old Aldrin appears inthe movie playing himself and meets with Optimus Prime leading NASAhistory buffs to no doubt bristle.Flash-forward to our time, hero Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) is livingin Washington DC. He's finished college with an unnamed degree and evengotten a medal from President Obama. But for some reason he can't finda job. Is it the economy or is it that his taste for action and hisunbridled arrogance prohibit him from landing at the top? Similar toothers of his generation, he's not content starting in the mail room.Sam's also picked up an impressive new girlfriend named Carly (MeganFox replacement and Victoria Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley).Even though he's landed this amazing girl and they live in a freakishlyspacious apartment, Sam is restless and unhappy. After all, he's savedthe world twice, nothing else, not even the mail room, could evercompare.I suppose the saving grace here is that "Dark of the Moon" is soridiculous that anyone over the age of 12 will not likely take it as ahistory lesson. But that isn't a reason to see the movie. Thecollection of special effects on display here are destined to be addedto that 3D reel at your local Best Buy.

You did the third one right.

Having watched the Transformers cartoon as a kid, my expectations weretempered when Paramount Pictures announced that a live-action movie wasforthcoming. Once the film came out though, I couldn't wait to see it.The cartoon I grew up watching, was now a real live action movie andthere I sat in awe. I recall watching the first time Bumblebeetransformed and getting chills at the sight and sound. OnceTransformers: Revenge of the Fallen was released, I was terriblydisappointed. Instead of a worthy follow-up to an enjoyable firstmovie, what was delivered was an insulting piece of garbage, but that'sa review for another day. It was inevitable that a 3rd movie was goingto be produced, I was simply hopeful for major improvements beingimplemented to move the franchise forward. I'm happy to say that myhopes for the movie were far exceeded. The script far exceed that ofthe first two films; the action was again on a grand scale and theacting….well, it was OK. It's difficult for real-life actors andactresses not to be overshadowed by the sheer awesomeness of theTransformers. Michael Bay has made amends with me, whether he wanted toor not.Director Michael Bay has shown that he loves devastation, often timesexcessively; i.e. Bad Boys, The Rock, Pearl Harbor. The one thing aboutBay's movies though, is that they never lack excitement andentertainment. Transformers: Dark of the Moon meets the requiredcriteria, with non-stop action and massive destruction from start tofinish. Shia LeBeouf's Sam Witwicky is once again thrust into themiddle of the war between Autobots and Decepticons. I've enjoyedLeBeouf's portrayal of Sam throughout all three movies. InTransformers: Dark of the Moon, he plays the role with humor, such ashis interactions with his parents and while interviewing for a muchneeded job; and he plays the role with a convincing intensity, which isnecessary in action movie of this magnitude. Bay added big name talentto the roster this time around: John Malkovich, always a pleasure towatch, in a small but humorous role as Sam's boss; the talented FrancesMcDormand; Patrick Demsey; and the hilarious Ken Jeong, who continues astrong run of supporting roles. Reprising their roles for a third timeare Josh Duhamel, Tyreese Gibson and the highly amusing John Turturro.Without a doubt, Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a HUGE improvementover Revenge of the Fallen. There's a lot to love about the effects, and even the storyline….yes, it has a solid storyline, which revolvesaround the race to land on the moon in the 60s. I think it's a safe betthat the Transformers are here to stay and that more movies will becoming. Hopefully, should Bay decide against returning as rumored, thatthe studio replaces him with someone capable of continuing to move theseries in the direction he just left it....pointed towards the starsand the planet Cybertron.Oscar worthiness: Special effects and Sound Summer movie Grade: B (myson, who is 7.5 gave it an A+) Age appropriate meter: 10+ (someexcessive language, A LOT of violence, one sexual situation in the verybeginning, some scenes may be deemed too scary for younger children)visit our site at www.twodudereview.com

Transformers: Dark of the

Definitely the best of the three. But that is not saying much considering how bad the first two were. The plot seems to contradict from the first two movies in the timeline. Example: if Megatron and Sentinel Prime formed a secret allianc,. when did this occurr? Remember Megatron was frozen on earth for millions of years in the 1st movie. The Ark with Sentinel Prime on board crashed on the moon in 1961. How come the fallen in the 2nd movie did not know about this ark? Loopholes like this made the plot very confusing, unpredictable, and incoherent. For the directing Michael Bay should never be allowed to direct ever again. He bombed in Pearl Harbor, and the Island sanked. They should get J.J. Abrams, Christopher Nolan or Peter Jackson to do these movies. The Transformers would rocked then. Acting wasn't really any better. You have a model now as love interest with no acting experience and it showed. John Malkovich is a great actor and Michael Bay made him look less then average. The Visuals of course were the best part of the movie. The main weakness was the 3D. It was pointless to have it in the movie. The fight scenes and action sequences were great. I'm sure this is because of Steven Speilberg being one of producers and Industrial Light And Magic providing the effects for the movie. To Conclude, there is a saying in the movie industry that the movie is only as good as the villian. Well, with Michael Bay it's the movie is only as good as the Director. For the Love God Michael Bay don't make another movie. Speaking of the villians who was the main bad guy in the movie, Sentinel Prime? Megatron? Shockwave? There was no clear cut true villian in this movie. Unless, you count the director.

Very crowded but not very satisfying

Like too many movies recently, this rides the unnecessary 3D bandwagonfor no reason. It adds nothing but increased ticket cost and eyestrain. No question, the effects are great (and would have been equally so in2D), but the plot is very disjointed, with many odd segments thatreally make no sense, even when well done. The best performances wereJohn Malkovitch and the barely credited Alan Tudyk. They were justgreat to watch, but so far off the main plot line, I was just not surewhy they were there. I did love hearing Leonard Nimoy's voice as anautobot, but again, it was just too much in an already over-stuffedfilm.Let's face it, an overly long feature movie based on kids' mechanicaltoys is certain to have its detractors, but it does have a lot of rapidfire eye candy, and is a great summer movie. I did enjoy it, but Ican't help but wish it had skipped the 3D, and invested that money inbetter editing, writing and some attention to continuity. It's alwaysdepressing to see a major production that really fails to be great, despite huge effort and expenditure, because it simply forgets the keyrule of movie making. Have a great story, and tell it well.

Just two words - very poor

Where do we begin?Plot - infantile at best; Dialogue - banal (and couldn't understandShia at all); Bad guys - predictable; Cameos - people turning up for noapparent reason. What was Frances McDormand thinking? John Turturroonly there because he was in the other films. John Malkovich? No ideawhy actors who can act were in a film that didn't require them to doit. Oh, right. Turn up, breeze through it, bank a whole lot of money.Shame on you; Casting - was it names out of a hat?; Characteristion -Michael Bay not bothered about that; Diversity Policy - offensiveracial stereotyping all the way.On the up side, the Transformers and the effects were brilliant. Pitythey got such a small look in.Didn't even get to the end of it. Couldn't have cared less about 30minutes from the end. I was hoping that the Decipticons would destroythe civilisation that had brought us this drivel. No such luck.

Rolling out for the last time. HAD it with Brainless Bay.

After the last two, I wasn't holding my breath for Dark of the Moon andjust as well. Yet *again* Michael Bay falls short of what Transformersshould be. It was never about the humans, it was the story of theTransformers. In Bay's movies the Transformers take a back seat. There's little or no character development and he still hasn't workedout what Transformers look or sound like. And Bay can't even get thecharacters right. No way is that sorry bucket of bolts Megatron and ifMegatron was that decrepit, Starscream would have taken full advantage, blasted him and taken over. In the original G1, the Decepticons werenot such ugly, chunky and messy robots and since when do Transformersslobber? Gross. In the original movie when Starscream died I bawled myeyes out and was upset for years. When Screamer bought it this timeround I couldn't give a high flying frenzy. Bay is a greedy moneymaking bozo who could not give a stuff about the fans or the characterswe know and love. Where was Optimus Prime's compassion for all livingthings? Loved Megatron's 'Lawrence of Arabia look' Gods he was having abad hair day. Where were the female Transformers who got an almost nonexistent cameo in Revenge of the Fallen? Carly spent most of her timebeing duped, running scared or running to her man. Very sexist. She hada few good lines with Megatron though. The only other woman with a bigrole was Mearing, a snotty, stuffed-shirt, full of herself bitch. Theantics at Sam's workplace were beyond ridiculous. Only Bay with hisbrains in his nethers could have come up with such tripe. Simmons, alittle better in this one is still a dweeb and the last line of thelast Transformers movie is him?! What an insult! It had an interesting premise, but as with the other two, fell shortcharacter wise. Bay's movies are bereft of the magic that Transformersonce had. Gone is all the original charm. Well at least they called thegirl Carly. But what I loved about Carly in the original series(despite not being in many episodes) was that she was not a supermodeland slightly dumpy, which made her real for me as I hardly looked likea supermodel either. In the original show she was also American (notthat I have anything against the Brits - I'm half pom myself) but theyshould stick to the original, but then seeing how Bay's f---edeverything about Transformers that was special, I wasn't surprised.Bay's movies were noting but a huge let down and mega disappointment. In 2007 and 2009 I bought heaps of Transformer toys and merchandise, which I wish I hadn't. I was trying to re-live those childhood yearswhere it brought me so much happiness and joy. That joy no longerexists with these new movies and it's very sad. This time around I onlyspent $15 on some TF office stationery and a box of TF chocolates andthat was it. No point in lining Bay's already overloaded pockets. Icertainly hope what goes around comes around for him for what he's doneto Transformers. Sadly the younger generation do not know the originaland therefore do not have a reference point to see how badly Bay hasmessed up Transformers. I really feel for them and for whatTransformers has become thanks to Bay. And Spielberg should be ashamedof himself. Won't say that a-hole ruined my childhood (like I'll givethat pathetic Earth Germ that much credit) I cherish my G1 moments. What I don't get is why Transformers movies couldn't be made this timeround with the characters looking and sounding right, with goodcharacter development, heart and soul of the original and enough CGaction to make it uber-exciting and an unforgettable Oscar winning epiclike Lord of the Rings. On a lighter and happier note, I hear Bay's been ousted by Hasbro andgood f**ing riddance. Sad that Hasbro even hired that dorkus molorkusin the first place. Hopefully in the near future we will have a team ofintelligent directors and writers that will write that epic that theTransformers and their loyal fans deserve.Actually, over 10 years before Bay got his grubby, greedy, dirty littlehands on Transformers, I had an idea for a live-action Transformersmovie, but sadly didn't have the money, connections to contacts like hedid :( Goes to show those who deserve to have money and power in thisworld, sad that many of us don't. Very sad. My story stayed true to theG1 characters, with much character development, an interesting storywith many twists, turns, heart-stopping effects and action, (and a reallooking Carly) coupled with much heart and soul which Bay lacks period.Sad as it would have shat all over that carbon based microbe'sdeploringly abysmal so called 'blockbusters.'Sadly, Transformers, like Megatron in this flick have definitely seenbetter days.Rolling out now.The Transformers have left the building.

This film transforms into a snooze fest.

In 2007, Michael Bay hit one out of the ballpark with "Transformers".But 2 years later,he got a strikeout with the second film in theseries, "Revenge of the Fallen". Now he's back on bat with the thirdfilm, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon". This time, He gets a anotherstrikeout.This third film which looks like a 2 and a half hour toy commercialplug, deals with the battle for America between the Autobots and theDecepticons.Shia Labeouf is still good as before as Sam Witwicky. Taking over forMegan Fox is model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Whiteley may have half ofFox's looks but none of the charm. The rest of the supporting castincluding Patrick Dempsey, John Turturro, Frances Mcdormand and JohnMalkovich are mostly underused. But the only shining supporting star isKen Jeong {"The Hangover" and TV's "Community"}. Jeong is very funny asSam's co-worker, but his role lasts a few minutes.Bay's direction is, as Roger Ebert would put it "eye candy for theblind". Ehren Kruger's script is too banal and drags the movie on toolong. The visual effects are at times both impressive and corny. ArmiMorki's cinematography make us feels like we are watching a musicvideo.Transformers fans will be wowed by it. But for the rest of us, we seeit as a endurance contest. Just in case non-fans, bring in pillows.FYI: The film is in both 2-D and 3-D versions. I saw it in 2-D. Myadvice: Skip both versions, go see Harry Potter instead.My Pick:Red Light{Skip It}

Redeemer of the franchise !!!

Welcome to my first review here in IMDb.Before I give my review of Dark of the Moon I'll give a quick review ofthe past installments. The first part of the trilogy is a hell of a movie. The story is soso. The acting is average and some of the original Voice actors arepresent. But what made the first transformer movie epic is the specialeffects. CG and Special Effects is so awesome that it l blur the linethat separates the real from the CGI. It grossed over 700 milliondollars in the blockbuster paving the way for a sequel.. my rating 10out of 10..The 2nd part of the trilogy which was released 2 years from the firstmovie is pure garbage. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is the worstinstallment. What made this movie suck is the exaggeration of humor toit. They should've made a comedy if they want a funny movie. The moviehas so many plot holes that its like a kindergarten had written thestory. Although the CGI and special effects is still awesome. Thismovie is full of crap.. my rating 3 out of 10.And now, for the ending of this epic trilogy. Six years after Bay'sTransformers franchise began came the finale of the trilogy. MichaelBay promised that Dark of the Moon will take a different path from thepath that Revenge of the Fallen took. I was so excited when the trailerof this movie was released. What made me more excited is the fact thatit will be in 3D. Although I'm still skeptical of the quality of thismovie I still hope that this will redeem the whole franchise. After watching it behind a pair of ridiculous 3D glasses, I came to theconclusion that Michael Bay fulfilled his promise. The movie didredeemed the whole franchise. The story is great, acting is average,Special effects is 5x cooler than the past movies which is due tohaving it in 3D. The robot fighting sequence will leave youbreathless. You will see lots Metal and people flying around. I don'tmind if Megan Fox is not present because the new love interest of Samis quite watchable. Michael Bay abled to balance the action and humorwhich made it way better than the 2nd movie. The story took someelements from the Transformers Generation 1. Dark of the Moon has takena darker path. You will see humans getting pulverized and seasonedcharacters getting turned into chunk of metalsAlthough this is a good movie. It is still inferior from the firstTransformers. It lacks emotion. Some plot holes are present buttolerable ones. Lack of exposure of the main antagonist.Megatron andStarscream suck in this movie. This is not worthy to become the endingof the trilogy. this is my opinion of the entire trilogy.. Transformers>Dark of theMoon>Revenge of the FallenFor people who loved the Special Effects of the past two installments..This is a must see movie. For fans of the Transformers cartoons. Maybeyou will get disappointed. Over-all.. All I can say is to watch it in3D in order to appreciate it more. This is a good movie.. Your moneywill be worth it,,:D

There was actually a little bit off a story in there somewhere.

This "Transformers" movie feels as though it's slightly better than itspredecessors purely because I've gradually found the series chaoseasier too follow each time. But it fails in many off the same ways asthe others did as well as in some brand spanking new ways! First off,I'm probably one off the only ones in the world that thoughtnumber 2 off this franchise was an improvement on number 1 (Theseblockbusters being referred too as number 1 and number 2 seemsjustified too most who saw them i'd imagine) Ye it was over the top,but so was the original. I remember that the first film tried way toohard too be funny, while "revenge of the fallen" had me laughing. Sosucceeded more in entertaining me in my book. I also had troublefollowing who was who amongst the robots in the first flick, while thesecond had some off the characters I remember from my childhoodfeatured, making it an over the top mess I could at least grasp alittle better. This ones attempt at humour is pretty poor, but restrains itself moretoo the first half off the film, leaving the second part as nothing butaction. The special effects are as good as always, even if the "3D"proves as disappointing as always. Off course its all relying on itsvisuals this, but at least there is a story off sorts, and some morecharacters that I remember from the cartoons and toys I had as a kid.So I really can't complain about not getting what I was at leastexpecting from the movie. What I will say against it though is that it really has a whole bunchoff other priority's wrong! It brings back unimportant human charactersfrom the first two (except for Megan Fox, who is replaced here by someannoying English model) while getting rid off the robot characterswe're finally getting round too seeing way too early. All in all thewhole franchise seems intent on barely featuring Megatron. The Main badguy as far as I know. Demoted too a mere side character in this series.Oh, and the raciest robots from the second film have gone, but there isa stereotypical Irish and Scottish robot on board. I'm Scottish andcan't really say I was offended, but I'm just saying because no oneelse will pull Michael Bay up for that one.Its nice that Bay got John Malcovich, Frances McDormand and LeonardNimoy too be in the movie but so what? He should be concentrating moreon cutting out cliché slow motion and dumb comedy sidekicks from hismovies. I wasn't expecting the film too be a masterpiece based on whatcame before it. But I was expecting too at least see the return offsome cool robot characters, and in that respect the film just teases! This feels like an abrupt end off a trilogy too. One that's finishedbefore a proper story has even begun. I hate Hollywoods recentfascination with re-booting everything, but the "Transformers" reallydo feel like they're in need off one. A Transformer getting re-bootedsounds just about right too me. Make it happen!

The film is once again (like all of Bay's films) loud, obnoxious and relentlessly in your face. It's also a lot of fun if you're into that sort of thing!

'TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON': Four Stars (Out of Five) The third chapter in director Michael Bay's immensely popular superrobot franchise, based on the popular 80's cartoon show and Hasbro toyseries. Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, KevinDunn, Julie White and most of the rest of the cast are back. With oneobvious exception of course; Megan Fox. Due to conflict with the film'sproducers (Bay and Steven Spielberg) Fox was fired from the project. She's been replaced by popular Victoria's Secret's model RosieHuntington Whiteley (who has worked with Bay before on a 2009Victoria's Secret commercial). Also new to this film are JohnMalkovich, Frances McDormand, Patrick Dempsey, Ken Jeong and others.Ehren Kruger (who co-wrote the last installment) returns as the solescriptwriter this time around. The film is once again (like all ofBay's films) loud, obnoxious and relentlessly in your face. It's also alot of fun if you're into that sort of thing. This adventure begins in 1961 while the Autobot's and Deceptions stillwage war on their home planet of Cybertron. An aging Autobot known asSentinel Prime (voiced by Leonard Nimoy, who also voiced the characterGalvatron in 'THE TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE' 1986 animated film) escapesthe planet with special teleportation technology called Pillars thatcould end the war for good. He crash lands on the moon and has beenwrecked there ever since. When Optimus Prime (once again voiced by thelegendary voice actor Peter Cullen) learns that the U.S. government hasknown about Sentinel's whereabouts and the Pillars for some time hebecomes extremely angry and makes it his mission to bring Sentinel hometo Earth. The Decepticons meanwhile lay in wait, waiting for theappropriate time to strike and seize control of the Pillars. SamWitwicky (LaBeouf reprising his most famous role) at the same time isstruggling with unemployment (even though he helped save the worldtwice and earned a medal from President Obama) and feelings ofinadequacy while trying to impress his new super hot girlfriend Carly(Huntington-Whiteley).The story is once again pretty simple but things still seem to get veryconvoluted and hard to follow (in classic Michael Bay fashion). Thefilm always moves at breakneck speeds regardless of what's going on(whether it's a simple dialogue scene or an elaborate actionspectacle). It jumps from slapstick comedy to emotional drama toexplosive action, without a moment's pause, and back again(constantly). The whole thing becomes very exhausting (like all ofBay's films) and you really need some strong caffeine or some kind ofdrug (whatever LaBeouf is on) to keep up with it. This kind of materialcan definitely leave the viewer with a severe headache if they're notin the right mindset. With that said the movie is still a heck of a lotof fun and you get far more than your money's worth (there's so muchgoing on). The scam is that it takes you three or four times of seeingthe film just to process it all. The action scenes are breathtaking, the 3D visuals are arguably the best since 'AVATAR' and the comedy forthe most part is very funny. The script is a complete mess but that'snot really important with this type of film. LaBeouf's shtick isgetting a little old but for me it still works. The guy has so muchenergy and is still hilarious in the right role (and Witwicky is theperfect showcase for LaBeouf's comedic and improvisational talents). Some people hate the parent characters but in my opinion Kevin Dunn andJulie White are always scene stealers in these films.Huntington-Whitely does a good job of looking extremely glamorous andbeautiful (and that's all she really has to do) but I still preferMegan Fox (or anyone more real). Bay's directing is once again Bay'sdirecting; you either love it or hate it. I personally love it. Seeingone of his films is a very unique experience and it is almost likebeing on drugs in a way. It's mind-blowing! I love creative independentfilms made for next to nothing but I also love big visuallyexploitative films (made on budgets of 2 to 300 million dollars). Ithink there's room for both types of film-making in the marketplace andone style doesn't hurt the other. They can co-exist! If you enjoy thesetypes of films you'll definitely enjoy this one too.Watch our review show 'MOVIE TALK' at:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWeZHJaLfc8

Cool,hard-hitting action and beyond beautiful mayhem....great job mr.Bay.An orgasm for the eyes.

Well....either you're of the same opinion as Sean Penn who wishesMichael Bay would get stomach-cancer(Talk about not only pretentiousbut cruel)and think his films are just brain-dead scenes stacked uponeach other and the point of his stories are explosions....OR by now, youknow what Bay does best, you know what he offers...and you know hedelivers.Mostly.Bay has a visual style of his own and he keeps doingwhat he loves and I think it'looks ever so wonderful, even if it'smostly surface. But you know that. This is not Shakespeare, although a certain character might remind youof lady McBeth. This is a movie about robots who transform, wreakhavoc, die and kill in extremely brutal ways and just like in theprevious two,Bay has found it a bit hard as to where to put hisfocus. On the humans who's world are threatened or on theTransformers, who are both are our saviors and our tormentors.Bay is fully aware of what is written on the page, what script he isworking with and we all have to understand that there's not room in amovie of this kind to flesh-out and develop characters...not the humanones anyway. In the end, that would only waste time and distract. So,when casting these one-dimensional roles,he makes the smart choiceof bringing in and keeping around gifted actors. No shame on FrancesMcDormand, she has some sweet sarcastic moments and just her presencekinda tricks us into thinking we're watching a movie ofquality....acting-wise.This is a movie of quality,it just depends onhow you define a good movie.Turturros return as the manic Simmons ismuch welcomed,he is way more entertaining here then in thesecond, albeit not quite as funny as in the first.LeBeouf has made Sam a guy you root for and the rest of the cast do adecent job, although I through these three films have wondered that ifBay is going to put focus on the soldiers, especially the ones played byGibson and Duhamel,he could've by the third installment let us know atleast a little bit about these guys, honestly.Rosie is not a good actorbut neither was or is Megan Fox.You know the plot;during the moon landing in the 60's and those sevenmissing minutes,Buzz Aldrin and company found something alien.A vesselcontaining something of unexplainable value. Optimus Prime and hisbuddys retriev the vessel...and that's all I say.Bays unique storytelling(beyond wonderful and "epic" cinematography, complicated, cool and clever camera-work,a bombastic, majesticscore)often has a way of stealing attention from the storyitself....but I'm okay with that cause the cinematography,camera-workand CGI are the main reasons I go to see Transformers 3.And the editing...it is magnificent. The times it's just posturing to becool, when it's showing us the destruction of a gigantic building, whenrobots go at it.A very good job.TDOTM is worthy of several artificialOscarnoms, actually.Like cinematography, editing, visual effects and bothsound categorys...relax,I wasn'tgonna suggest best supporting actor orbest Original screnplay,hahahaa...It's however pretty unfortunate that we this time around again areintroduced to new transformers....who we even don't get the names of orare involved in any violence. There's an old auto-bot who issenile, afraid to fight,...what was that? We're introduced to a prettycool one called Veno or Reno with a Jamaican accent...but he doesn'tget to do much either. Sideswipes voice has changed and he basicallythis time around also only is in one scene....and yes, this one is alsooff the chain. One autobot get to kick some serious ass but the onlyreason the script lets him do that is cause....you'll see. It's kinda shocking(although I here would have hoped for a littlesentimentality,Bay certainly is no stranger to sentimentality a'laPearl Harbor where he basically ODéd on it) and it's part of thetwist(A Bay film with a surprise) and the screenplay at least makes itsure that not THAT much is sure. There might be traitors on both sidesand it's actually not as black and white as I had expected. We get a fewlaughs, half the jokes work, the other half doesn't.The movie does have serious pacing problems at times though, especiallyin the middle and much dialog could've been cut out, since the wordsdon't matter and there are times when everything just stands still andat those moments, all the 3D and CGI in the world can't make itwork. That's true.Nevertheless....when all hell breaks loose and downtown Chicago becomesa war-zone,the baddies take out a lot of humans(to take that cheerfuledge of things.Bold and good.)and the auto-bots and decepticons havetheir final battle...there's your moneys worth and more.Mindblowing action and Optimus is certainly in his prime here, morebrutal, wise but flawed and just plain kick-ass.When he comesflying, like the guardian angel that he is,I felt like pulling aSam....you know -"OPTIMUS!!"The fight between him and Megatron is notone that I think you will find extremely enjoyable though but you can'tget it all.So the master of mindless, mind blowing action has returned. This is notWinter's Bone, this is not a film by Eastwood. It's okay, you're allowedto like this movie. I love Magnolia,The talented Mr.Ripley,21Grams......and think this was overall, a great cinematic experience and2 and a half hrs of sweet escape from the REAL horror and terror in theworld...If you see this film,I highly recommend seeing it in theaters.In3D.Well done Bay...you don't say much, you never did or meant to butwhat you show is pure magic at times. 7.8/10.

could have been better,

well, first seen the trailer i thought this is it, they did it again.it will be better than the second one.it has by far the biggest possible cgi mass-destruction, but the storyis not thought through. a patchwork of elements we know from the firstand the second movie is not enough to make a good movie.but i must give Bay credit that the fransformers movies keep thespectator in hope for a revival of the first part.OK, mr. Bay so please go on, shoot a 4th movie let optimus die and uscry. that would be an ending similar to the anime series. but this willnot happen......tf3 puts a point to a series that started epic, continued OK andfinished somehow in chaos.

Quite A Spectacle

Well, lets get a quick look at the film. Explosions, CGI, 3D and afterthese comes everything else. These three things is the main reason whyone should watch Transformers: Dark of the Moon. We all know who Mr.Bay is and what his movies are famous for: explosions, explosions, explosions and destruction, destruction, destruction. Plot has neverbeen his strongest feature, but hey, and i am totally honest here, itworks well enough, at least for me. All i wanted to see was a typicalMichael Bay movie, something like Armageddon or the first Transformers, and what i got was a pleasant surprise. So, before watching the movie its probably not a sin to say that wewere certain of one thing: it couldn't have been worse than Revenge ofthe Fallen, which, lets be honest, was pretty atrocious. This timewe've got plot linked to Moon and Apollo 11, which was clever andworked well for the movie, decepticons taking over the world andturning Chicago into something we're used to see in The Terminatormovies and autobots with their human allies resisting them. Oh, andwhat we don't have is Megan Fox. Thank God for that. The new femalelead, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has one task: be pretty and well itssafe to say that she succeeds at it, no one expects her to deliver anaward-winning performance, but she did really good (it's her first filmby the way) and she fits in the movie and with Sam very well. Anyway, the film is much bigger and more serious than the previousones. This time we've got emotion and character, which maybe hassomething to do with, again having Steve Jablonsky and Linkin Park forsoundtrack. Iridescent which is played at some points creates anexcellent aura. All this decepticon destruction and "drawing the biggerpicture" motive provides us with more seriousness and depth. So all in all, Transformers: Dark of the Moon was an awesome watch. Itcould be for anyone, if only one goes to watch it for the right reasons(needlessly to say explosions, CGI and 3D). We've got fast pace, a lotof visuals, romance, a lot of mayhem and well, a moral (presentedheavily with clichés but, hey, no harm). All of which are vitalcomponents for a solid summer blockbuster and a clear head to defineTransformers as something more than meets the eye. Just sit back andexpect a fun and adventurous ride and you won't be disappointed.
