This is fun for an hour before plumbing hitherto unknown depths of silliness. |

ExcitingAction packed, kept me on edge of seat. Good plot and very suspenseful. Another good performance by Neeson. Glad I saw this over Rango. |

A Nice Thriller! This review is from: Unknown [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) I enjoyed this one. No this isn't Taken, but it was still very good. The blu ray looks fantastic as well. I am a big fan of Liam in any movie and this does not dissapoint. |

Liam Neeson está começando a se afastar do território de "astro do Cinema" e a se aproximar do perigoso limbo dos "atores de produções lançadas diretamente em DVD". |

Taken into the UnknownUnknown may be marketed as a sequel of sorts (at least in tone) to Liam Neeson's surprise hit of a few years back, but this is not the action packed thrill ride that Taken provided. This film is about 75% mystery/thriller and 25% action. In fact, there were only a couple of fight scenes and one neat car chase to fill in the gaps when the pace needed picking up. I agree with the other reviewer here who said they wished the twist came earlier and left more time for Neeson to kick some serious booty. Speaking of the twist, I couldn't figure it out and I felt it worked really well. Liam Neeson once again proves to be an unlikely yet very believable action star. You can't help but root for this guy. I hope he continues with these types of roles every so often. January Jones and Diane Kruger are here to look good, but only Kruger has a character worth any interest. There is a quiet scene with Frank Langella and Bruno Ganz that stands out. Taken or Unknown? Which one do I think is better? I'll take the action in Taken any day of the week, but I feel this movie has a stronger cast and a more interesting story. Too bad they couldn't throw just a little more Qui-Gon beatdowns into the mix. Still, this is a wild ride worth at least a rental, or maybe even a nice spot next to your copy of Taken. |

Memory LossThis review is from: Unknown (DVD) This is a fast paced action movie, a thriller within the spy genre. The lead character (spy) suffers a head injury and momentarily loses his memory. When he wakes up, he believes his cover story to be his real life. There are some great scenes of Berlin, and the action scenes are well done. Though I had no problems with the acting, I did have difficulty believing the lead character. His lack of introspection when everything around was shouting "You're living a lie" subtracted from the movie. I felt this to be a flaw in the writing--the script. |

it had me guessing all the wayI'm not good at guessing plot twists, and I certainly never guessedthis one. That's why I thought it was good and entertaining.Liam Neesom(Martin), whom seems to be the new older action hero, hascome to Germany with his wife, Liz, for a science conference. He leaveshis wife to check into the hotel while he goes back for a suitcase leftat the airport. His taxi crashes into the river and he is saved by thedriver, Gina. He awakens from a 4 day coma and wonders why his wife isnot there. He finds her at the hotel, but she says she doesn't knowhim. Plus, there is another man that has taken his place. He has noidentification to prove he is Dr. Martin Harris.Martin thinks he may be loosing it so goes back to the hospital fortests. A nurse there gives him a name of an investigator. A strange maninterrupts his MRI and kills the nurse. Now Martin knows he's beinghunted. He tracks down Gina but so do the assassins. We get some coolcar chases and action scenes as Martin tries to find out what's goingon. He gets his suitcase back and meets an old friend and finallyunderstands. Now he has a chance to right a wrong.FINAL VERDICT: I thought it was exciting. I recommend it, it kept meguessing. |

WeakImplausible unispired film which lacked polish. the film Taken was a much better polished and entertaining film. Unknown script was laughable with so much implausbilty and conveniance written in for the characters it became difficult to watch. Highlight of film was performance by Bruno Ganz as former east german stazi officer. Not worth trip to theater. |

If Liam Neeson is now typecast as an aging action hero, he would be better off finding better scripts. |

I liked it but I wouldn't watch it againThis review is from: Unknown (Amazon Instant Video) The show was a good show but it went on too long. I normally like longer shows but this took too many turns. I liked it, but I wouldn't watch it again. |

Interesting and lots of actionUnknown is one of those movies where you don't have any idea of what reality is for about half of the movie. You're along for the ride. At several points, you find yourself wondering if the main character is fooling you by presenting his own delusional reality. It isn't until people start killing each other that you accept that it's not just a game of mental chess. The second half of the show is filled with action (although don't expect as much as Taken). Overall, an enjoyable movie. |

Provocative idea: while amnesiacs have trouble recognizing people they know, in this case everyone else has trouble recognizing the amnesiac! |

Implausible, over-the-top, ridiculous and for the most part, fun is a much better description for this "smart suspense" flick. |

A DIMENSION NOT ONLY OF SIGHT AND SOUND, BUT OF DUMBHere's how far we've come in some fifty years: The plot of "Unknown" may or may not have proven adequate for a half-hour episode of The Twilight Zone. That episode may or may not have begun with Rod Serling telling us "Submitted for your approval. What is a man but his memories..." and gone on to dazzle and charm a few suburban families for 20+ minutes. Today, this selfsame, threadbare kernel of a plot that would have to stretch to the breaking point to span 20 minutes has somehow received the approval to extract a 113 minute chunk from your life. Padded with innumerable and now requisite car crashes, chases, shootings, injections and generally improbable -- though incredibly well-timed -- miscues by the bad guys (or, Or, ORRRRR: are they good guys?) "Unknown" is actually quite knowable thanks to its obvious, cliché machinations. Why did I watch it, you ask? I was on an airplane. A 12-hour flight made sadly even longer by the steady stream of dumb dripping off that tiny little screen and onto my trouser legs... Wow, do I hate flying. |

In the French-made, English-language sleeper Taken, Liam Neeson was a former CIA operative who was (outlandishly) able to thwart a sex-trafficking ring. Audiences responded vociferously to his take-charge character. His latest film, Unknown... |

SIGHgood plot, nice to see Liam Neeson, some character's acting horrible, very predictable. If you like fighting, running, car chases and smash-ups...it's for you. Otherwise, unless your movie theater is very comfortable, the pop corn is supreme and it's storming outside, don't bother. |

Great action movie, despite flaws in logicThis review is from: Unknown [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray) This is not as good as "Taken", but it's close. There is a lot of well-filmed action, and a lot of surprises. As someone who lived in Berlin for three years, I especially enjoyed the scenes in locations I was familiar with. I had originally seen the movie in a theatre, and because it depends on a major plot twist to make sense, I was concerned that a second viewing would have no suspense. Fortunately, I was wrong, and it holds up with repeated viewings, as long as you accept the basic premise. Liam Neeson's character undergoes a tremendous change in basic personality, not fully explained by his temporary amnesia, and a scientist carries the only copy of all his extensive and valuable research around in a single laptop computer without backup. Despite these and smaller flaws in logic, as long as you don't ask why, the movie flows along and is very entertaining. |

A portrayal of identity crisis at its best..!!!A man wakes from a coma only to find that there is another man leadinghis life in his place.Even his wife denies ever seeing him...What should he believe?? Broken pieces of his own memory that hehimself is not sure enough to trust or his surroundings which in everyway is proving him to be delusional???Starting with his fragments of memory and well shot action scenespunctuated by quite drama in between, the movie takes us to the verystreets of Berlin,, and u begin to empathize with Dr. Martin Harris(Liam Neeson)....Liam Neeson has done a really good job making this movie immenselyentertaining.... |

Waaaay better than a 7.4 (IMDB current rating) This is a MUST SEE!!!Often you see a preview for a movie and get excited but unfortunatelymany times the trailer is better than the movie itself. When I saw thefirst glimpses of this movie I immediately said "Oh, I gotta see this!"I was excited when it finally hit theaters and noticed IMDb votersrated it in the "sevens" meaning it was worth watching--I only pay fullprice if a movie is at least a 7.0 voting rating.Well, my wife and I walked out of the theater saying this movie is a 9!It rocks! The acting and drama is very good. The premise of the plot is outstanding... how in the world did thishappen to him? It's a great ride finding out.I would recommend this to everyone I know.I would only take kids at least 15 years old because of a few steamyscenes (that I enjoyed) but wouldn't want my ten year old to see. |
