What's not to like?I disagree with the various posters who have said this isn't grown upenough for a more mature audience, I think it's pitched just aboutright. I just turned 30 and I'm enjoying every minute of it, and whynot? It's quirky, light, easy to watch and the actors all give fineperformances. Eddie Mclintock and Joanne Kelly make a greatpartnership, Saul Rubinek is, as always, brilliant, CCH Pounder has theright mix of gravitas and compassion and Allison Scagliotti as Claudiais electric to watch. With Roger Rees as McPherson providing a crediblevillain and Genelle Williams as the lovely Leena putting in a (for me)surprising twist, it all makes for some very entertaining TV.I've just finished watching the first season, and I personally can'twait for the second. |

Fun Concept plagued by mediocre executionTwo sexy Federal Agents dealing with the Paranormal? It seemsimpossible to not make the X-files comparison. With a few exceptions(that occurred well after the characters were established), the X-fileepisodes always played it straight. The show worked because it took itsmythology so seriously. Warehouse 13 tacts towards a light, humoroustake, perhaps for no other reason than to avoid a direct X-filescomparison.Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly play agents Lattimeer and Bering. They are both appealing characters and seemed to have the requisitechemistry to make this thing work. He is charming, bumbling andapparently has clairvoyant capabilities. She is hard-nosed and tryingto act tough and professional, despite inner self-doubts. Both actorsdid a good enough job with the characters.Saul Rubinek plays Artie Neilson, an absent-minded professor type whobumblingly overseas a hidden giant Warehouse filled with governmentneutralized paranormal objects. The two agents quickly seem to accepttheir fate, and don't much question the exotic sidegear he gives them,or the fact that they are quickly exposed to magical objects andmiraculous happenings. They head out on their first assignment, toneutralize and retrieve the dangerous magic items out there in thehands of the great unwashed. And this is where the show failed. Rubinek's clownish character, andthe retro futuristic magic gear (electric guns by Telsa, Cigarette tin2-way TV's) just seem contrived and cornball. Additionally, the 3rdrate special effects fall flat. Using comedic patter and light humorbetween the leads would be completely fine, but to have a level ofbuffoonery underlying the entire concept just gives the entire show asecond-rate feel about it.I really feel that had the show's creators said X-file comparisons bedamned, let's make this a serious show with paranormal elements, andhad they made special effects secondary (ala the gloomy X-files) theycould have had a great TV show. As it is, this lightweight show mayhave a run because of the leads, but it's far from a special show. |

Great, but how long does it take to get to Paris?I watch every week so I like the show, but there are holes. In Stargate SG-1, we all ignored the fact that everyone in the universe spoke English, and in Warehouse 13, we don't notice that it seems to take only a couple of hours to get anywhere in the world from the Badlands. They must have a couple of hypersonic planes hidden away in that warehouse, or maybe some Star Trek transporters. Also, it would have been nice if they had taken a few stock shots of the real Badlands rather than using CGI for everything. The supposedly-nearby town looks more like a Vancouver suburb (which I'm sure it is) than any town I'm familiar with in western South Dakota. |

A mixed experience, subpar overallWhen i watched the pilot of this show i thought "wow this has gotpotential" and i've watched every episode of the first 2 seasons now. However, the potential never got fulfilled and not a single episodesince the pilot has been great like the pilot. At it's best it's gotmoments but at its worst.... it's unbearable.More than anything what has worn me out are the 2 main characters Peteand Myka. Why do they have to act like immature teenagers when they arein fact grown-ups? This style works for Artie and Claudia, Claudiaespecially because she IS a teenager and Artie because it just somehowfits him and fits the humorous part of his character. With Pete andMyka doing the same thing it becomes boring. The characters lackcontrast and dynamics because of it. You know what they are going tosay and do before they've done it. The random attempts to build moredepth into the characters is prevented by this failed attempt at comedyand also by writing what feels like random back stories and story linesfor them. The stories point in any and every direction and doesn'tgenerally seem to fit anywhere or have much consequence.Personally i love long, involving story arcs that slowly developscharacters and mythology of the show. This show does seem to attempt itbut it never becomes interesting. Again the writing seems very random.I don't think the writers had any idea where they were going withanything from the beginning.I do want to say something positive. Claudia is actually pretty greatas the slightly insecure teenager with some baggage. I just wish allthe other characters weren't trying to copy her. Artie is great as wellalthough i'm disappointed by the lack of back story on his part. Surelythere must be something there but in 2 seasons now not much has beenrevealed. All in all i think the show has quickly become a parody on itself andthe greatest mystery of it is how in the world it obtained a 7.8 ratinghere at IMDb. |

Warehouse 13..or revamped take on The Librarian...?Like many, I was truly looking forward to the start of this series.I saw the 3 TNT Librarian movies not long before Syfy began pushing the WH13 promos: The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice, The Librarian - Quest for the Spear & The Librarian - Return to King Solomon's Mines.I loved the movie trilogy and felt the heavens were really smiling on me by giving me a tv show to continue their tradition.I'm just pointing all this out to show how I was so perfectly positioned to fall in love with Warehouse 13.Sadly, all that promise came to nothing! For the reviewer who said the leads did not inspire rooting...I rooted for them anyway. I actually began to grudgingly give a fig about the main characters. This did not extend to the later-introduced psycho-stalker-techie nerd-cool-young/hip-ANNOYING-Claudia.I gave the show every opportunity to rise above its swirling cloud of mediocrity. I reminded myself that even Eureka (especially Eureka: Season 3.5) had downright dreary, who-cares days. I waited patiently for someone to write an actual cohesive series of events to replace what appeared to be random wandering through half-developed ideas and story lines. I valiantly watched the entire season, stifling the urge to reach into the screen and tidy up the rather confused warehouse (which was also physically untidy). It actually felt like the show was meant to be a one-off mini-series, or something, and everyone - actors and writers - went through each episode as though it would be canceled at any moment.Sadly, at the end of season 1, I felt as drained of goodwill as I had been with the ill-fated relaunched Bionic Woman - Volume One. (I actually heaved a sigh of relief when that one was canceled as it freed me from what I felt was my duty to support anything to do with the classic show in particular, and science fiction in general.)Again, sadly, I would probably feel the same relief if Warehouse 13 were canceled, because I DID watch it to the bitter end, lest I miss out on THE MOMENT...you know, the one on which Simon Cowell continually harps.WH13 should at least get a MAJOR overhaul before returning. It's such a GREAT concept....how did it manage to not achieve its potential? Before voting on my review, please note that I WANTED it to succeed... I still do. Watch the TNT-Made Librarian Movies, and you'll have an idea what I was expecting it to live up to, or even surpass. And there's nothing wrong in calling for growth, especially in a new series. (My attempt to not get completed voted down, but oh well....)I firmly believe that there are more than even 13 great episodes wandering around somewhere in that disheveled warehouse, trying to find a map. Or a broom. Or a writer to think at least 5 episodes ahead.I just hate that I am dreading its return...'cause you know I'll be watching every episode regardless of my review.Waiting for that MOMENT. |

X Files meets Bones meets Indiana Jones meets Twilight zone meets........Fringe meets Torchwood meets...er, well you get the idea. I have toadmit that once I saw the previews for this show on the new SyFy (Whatswith that name anyhow?) i thought it would be boring the same old sameold crap that had been done a billion plus times before, but i had togive it a try anyway. I was NOT sorry. This show is awesome, and haslots of room for some really good storytelling....an entire warehousefull of storytelling. The idea is simple, there arestrange/supernatural objects in the world that should not fall into thewrong hands, so what do you do with them? Store them in 'AmericasAttic' AKA Warehouse 13. The two characters Bering (who is oh so veryhot..Like a more kick ass-ed Scully with the appeal of Olivia Dunham ofFringe) and her unlikely partner Lattimer (unlikely agents forced towork together, sound familiar?) were very likable, Lattimer ishilarious and Bering is the by the book agent who can't believe hereyes. I was also impressed by Artie, the guy who watches the warehouse,he was a very likable and funny character. Things he said made sense tohim but were funny to us cause we have no idea what he means. Also thetechnology, although old fashioned, awesome none the less. Some of thetech is very Cyber punk-ish and stuff I found myself saying "I wantthat." I will definitely be tuning every week, this warehouse will havea constant visitor....Me in case you were wondering. |

Fun and ExcitingI love the show, a lot of the reviews are calling it a copy or arip-off but what show now comes with complete originality. The fact isthere is no other show like this right now and its very fun. Can't waitfor the next episode. I like the fact that you get where the show isgoing, and yes because it is familiar. More like a warm friendlyfamiliar then a I can tell you what the next episode is going to befamiliar. I appreciate the show. Not the most original but I love thecharacters and none of them have an emotional problems so it makes themeasier to understand. Most people would agree its a fresh get-a-wayfrom the large amount of reality shows we have now. |

Warehouse 13This review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) I loved this series from the very first episode. Kept them recorded on the DVR until it was released on to DVD, even watched the series again !! The Retro equipment - the computer keyboard, Tesla, and various artifacts are sometimes visually stunning. Characters are important in the development of any series, and Myka, Pete and Artie were likable individually as well as in ensemble. I liked the word-play between the characters. Was an X-Files fan in the day, but I like this series much better because it has it's tongue in it's cheek! What can I really say-I am big fan of Warehouse 13 and have already recorded the 2nd season so far on DVR, which I'll keep until the release on DVD next year. Can only hope they keep renewing Warehouse 13 for years to come. |

I Gave It A Chance......No ImprovementTake every popular, well-made show and movie you've ever seen. Rip offall the plots, premises, tag-lines, etc. Leave out the originality andsuperior acting......and you've got "Warehouse 13." That is exactly whythe great majority of reviews here mention the names of movies andshows that this copies from.I've watched every episode, hoping it would get better. But it simplyisn't. If anything, the characters are becoming more annoying. What isthe real plot here?? Three of the most inept people in the World aremanaging a Warehouse filled with the most powerful and dangerous itemsin the world. If anything, the world is in MORE danger when thesenitwits get involved! If the characters weren't annoying or bunglingenough, now they've added a whiny "youngster," to make the managementof the great Warehouse even more damaging.I gave it more than a chance....I gave it my time. No more Thank You! |

BadHonestly I don't see how this show has any reviews over 3 stars. First of all it is completely ridiculous, but not in any kind of humorous or witty way, just really stupid. The characters are incredibly boring, one of the main characters basically acts like a poorly portrayed child, the others aren't too bad, just not that interesting. The plot of the show itself could do a lot.. but it doesn't. Instead of unraveling a mystery behind the objects, it just shrugs it off and basically says who knows, who cares. And just about every famous person they can think of in history they just say it belonged to them, not adding this to overall the plot or anything. And the "villain" kind of has no real back story, just some guy that used to work there randomly screwing with them. The show is about a couple people that seem to have no clue how to do their job nearly getting themselves killed every episode trying to place random objects in a vat of goo and store it in a warehouse. |

Good enough to loveThis show is a great example of how SyFy has gradually acquired the resources to make good shows that lovers of the genre can love. [...] |

I had trouble to keep watchingI really had problems to watch till the end of the first episode ( andit was a double as well). It is not what I expected. Not in the least. The characters do not convince me one second. Supposed to be so verysmart (that is why they are chosen I guess) they really bungled throughthe pilot and when they find the culprit they start blabbing theirheads of instead of acting. In order to work my way to they end I haveto admit I used the FF button a few times. It is pretty much the samesetting as Fringe. A few smart types and the nutty professor. Thewarehouse idea has already been used in the Indiana Jones movies and inThe Librarian. And I do not even start this series with Doctor Who andTorchwood. That would be so embarrassing. I rather not go into that. There are better, much better series to watch. |

A knockoff of X-FILES, among othersA Mulder and Scully-type duo retrieves a series of dangerous objectsand deposits them in a government warehouse in South Dakota. That's thepremise of this Canadian-lensed series, which is sprinkled with muchhumor and the occasional suspenseful situation. The warehouse isoverseen by a quirky little man played by veteran character actor SaulRubinek, who is delightful. He also gives the pair their weeklymarching orders. The pilot took the two to Iowa to track down an oldItalian book that apparently sparks homicidal tendencies in otherwisenormal folks. The Mulder character is played by an Eddie McClintock, afamiliar TV actor who could pass for the twin brother of FBI agentSeeley Booth from BONES. The gal playing the Scully character, JoanneKelly, is your generic, model-thin female who lacks Scully's gravitasand looks like a million other TV actresses. But that's OK because theshow, which also has its roots in the old Friday THE 13TH TV series aswell as RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, is lots of fun and not to be taken tooseriously. I think it has enough gas to run for at least two or threeseasons. The show very much reminds me of EUREKA, which I believe comesfrom the same production group. |

I'll give it a tryThe plot of Warehouse 13 is not very convincing to me. It is kindamixes sci-fi with steampunk with B-movie-like effects. Something ismissing. I have no affection with the series, their characters. ButI'll give it a try. The idea of objects with powers is very potential.Let's see how it develops. I love sci-fi shows, bad or good I watchthem from the beginning till the end. I remember my favorite seriesbeing slightly boring in the beginning and slowly growing intocan't-wait-till-the-next-episode shows. I really hope for the show thatit will be one of them. I can imagine creators try to find a key to aviewer's heart and showing several styles. Personally, I would preferthe plot going more steampunk than sci-fi or mystical. That would givea fresh and more original spin. But in that case they should be verycareful with magical-alike powers. In its origins steampunk is purelyscience, nothing paranormal or magical. |

The BestThis review is from: Warehouse 13: Season One (DVD) I could hardly wait for the release of the first season of "Warehouse 13" shows. Just as "beauty is in the eye of the beholder", television shows are held to similar personal preferences. I think "Warehouse 13" is one of the best productions on any television network. I watched it religiously every week on Sify, but owning commercial-free DVDs with accompanying extra features is definitely worth the money. I will buy them as long as the series lasts - which I hope is many years. |

Not Quite ThereHaving heard about this series a few times, and then more recently acomparison regarding it and Stargate Universe (re the fact that W13pulled better ratings), I decided to give the pilot episode a viewing. There haven't really been many sci-fi/fantasy shows (ever) that haven'theld my attention and appealed to my nerdy requirements, and whilst Iwas keeping an open mind, I struggled to keep watching the full 90minute double episode. The lead actors (McClintock and Kelly) just didn't quite "do it" forme... they were kind of interesting characters, but ultimately neithermade me passionate to continue. One of the reasons I didn't switch offearly was Raul Subinek, who I've enjoyed since ST:TNG days, but evenhis always interesting portrayal isn't enough to convince me to watchany further. The premise is interesting, though the idea of having a massivewarehouse full of deadly "oddities", yet only 1 person on hand to dealwith them, is absurd. Whilst I'm sure some story arcs develop over theseason, I can see a lot of Reaper-like-repetition ahead, which alsodoesn't interest me.The special effects were also rather disappointing. About on par withReaper or Merlin, which in those shows is acceptable, as they are morecomedy than drama. I don't know if it was deliberate or accidental, butsome shots left my eyes hurting (eg external of the Warehouse). The direct comparison for me would be The Lost Room, which I thinkoffered a lot more promise than this pilot. I felt too much likeLattimer and Bering's characters were being force fed to me, ratherthan a real natural progression. Whereas in Lost Room, everything wasleft that bit more confusing and unanswered; more for the journey. |

Best new Syfy show in a long time! The cast of characters is well developed, there is excellent chemistryamong them all, and the script writing lends favor to each actor'sstrengths. Very witty and some very funny hidden gems (for example, onetime when Pete Lattimer was signing off after using an over-sizedvideo-phone communicator, he says "Kirk out!") and of course the sexualtension between the two Secret Service agents is classic and wellbalanced. I LOVE the whiz-kid Claudia! She absolutely nails her rolesublimely. The character Artie (Brainy Warehouse overseer)is the onlyweak link, in my opinion. He seems, with deference paid to his role, too flighty and distracted to be in charge of what could easily betermed "The Achilles Heel of Humanity", or...Warehouse 13 and its crazycontents. Incidentally, the story is loosely based on a similar seriescalled "Friday the 13th: The Series" where cursed antiques from a shopcalled "Curious Goods" were retrieved by two 20-something champions, guided by the sage-like "Uncle" who ran the shop. Overall, BIG thumbsup tho. |
